Ever since my kids have started riding bikes, we have been looking for SAFE places to ride. The Tracks at Brea is one of those places! If you park next to Brea Blvd., there is a small parking lot with restrooms and an outdoor gym. The parking lot is small, so be prepared to wait or find other parking. The paved trail runs a few miles in both directions. It also has painted lines for two way traffic. It's a scenic route with houses on one side and businesses on the other side. Overall, a wonderful paved trail for your young riders, joggers, walkers, skateboarders, e-bikers, and outdoorsy people. Xie Xie! read more

I recently decided to walk the Brea Track Trail (while my car was being serviced on Brea Blvd). The Brea Track Trail is a simple loop that wraps around a local community, making it convenient for nearby residents looking for a quick walk or jog. The path is well-maintained and easy to follow, but it lacks shade--there aren't enough trees to provide relief from the sun, especially during hotter parts of the day. There are some benches along the fork that leafs out to neighborhood. It's a decent spot for a short stroll, think end-to-end is 2 miles. However, the trail is not ideal for longer outdoor sessions (didn't see any water fountain) so unless you're prepared for the sun exposure and bring your own water bottle. read more

Perfect peaceful track for morning walks. Came here with a friend last week to catch up over a leisurely walk. It was wonderful! We got an easy 3.5 mile walk back and forth (and little bit out to the streets). There is a section where the trail ends, and you have to cross the street to continue. Other than that, absolutely loved walking this trail. Parking was easy to find, and it led directly into the trail which was nice (lot of times, you have no idea where the trail starts lol). The people were all very nice and friendly. You will see walkers and runner, but plenty of space to walk/ run freely. Overall, would definitely come back for a leisurely walk. Not sure about doing a long run here, as it does not stretch too far. Other than that, loved everything about the tracks at Brea. read more

Hubby & I've been here many times whenever we're in the area & just want a leisurely walk. It's definitely a good one if you want to catch up with a friend. This is an easy flat trail you can walk, jog, run, & even ride your bicycle. It's family friendly as well. We've walked 1x from one end to other end & turned out to be 7-8 mil round trip. Parking is real easy at no cost. The trail cuts off where you'll have to cross the street to continue on but it's no big deal. There's barely any shade so when it's hot, make sure you wear a hat & sun block. read more

We picked up my best friend son, and we took baby girl and him on a ride on the trail today which we have gone here many times it's just been a while, I used to ride my skateboard here too. But today took the electric scooter cause my legs have been hurting a lot this weekend. But they had fun it was a bit hot but still beautiful and breezy. We went all the way to the end where state college is and then we road back, baby girl rode her scooter. Her friend rode bicycle scooter my electric one and skateboard. It was beautiful day. It was nice to get out even just for a little bit. The trail is nice. It gets busy sometimes but it's nice little walk or place to ride bikes, skateboards, roller skates and whatever else. If you just wanna move your legs a little and get a little fresh air, but I love the painted rocks they have all around and sometimes people make small little houses and tiny gardens. Unfortunately some people like to remove them which is sad but hope they do more during summer. It's really colorful and beautiful and sometimes you see cats running around I love the little flowers they have around to. They have a bench half way so you can sot, It's a peaceful trail. I forget how long it is but when you start at the beginning, they do have some workout equipment, which is cool. I like this trail. I'm glad they opened it such a family friendly area to be. This is our favorite place to have the little guy ride his bike while we "chase him" on foot (AKA jog). When the weather is good, there really isn't anything better than parking in downtown, then taking the trail all the way to the end (across the street from the golf course), then turning around to go all the way back and being forced to grab an ice cream because Rite Aid is right there! The trail has so much to look at and everyone that walks/runs/rides is so nice. Some of our favorite things are the area where there are tons of kindness rocks, the little gym area with exercise equipment and of course the beautiful flowers along the path. Some tips for newbies: 1) There are tons of places to park but don't forget the lot downtown. The bottom of the lot that is at the end of downtown (the multi-story one) connects to a path at the bottom that hooks into the Tracks. It even has a special ramp for you to wheel your bike up to the trail. 2) There are tools on the trail so if there was a bike issue, you might be able to fix it with those 3) Think about bringing water or there is a water fountain where the gym equipment is. That is also where there are bathrooms. read more

The Tracks at Brea is a popular spot amongst walkers, runners, and bicyclists. It was pretty busy when I came here for a run on a weekday morning. The trail is pretty flat until you cross the street and continue at the golf course. I am not a fan of the trail at the golf course. It has more of an elevation and the trail kind of splits in and out of residential areas. Unlike most trails, I like how their is a restroom and water fountain easily available. read more

I love, love, love the Tracks at Brea!! I love that there's a paved part for bikers, runners or walkers & a dirt path to make you feel like you're hiking! And that path will help you avoid getting run over by a biker! The trail is especially amazing during Fall, Winter when the air is cooler. In the summer, unfortunately there's no shade so it does get warm. Bring water! But today, I came just before sunset and it was amazingly nice & cool. And I caught the sunset walking west past Brea Blvd. I wish all cities had a path like this. Brea, nice job!! read more

Although it just seems like one long pathway through, it's actually really nice! You have to cross the street a couple times but there is a designated parking area with a restroom and some outdoor park exercise equipment. Surprisingly there is a LOT to see and enjoy. The surrounding neighborhood paints and decorates clusters of rocks along the trail, some homes decorate the back of their wooden fences, and around the time that I went there were so MANY flowers in bloom. Very colorful, pretty sight to see. There was also a portion with a man made "river" and there were some ducks there too. Since the tracks are so long and there is a concrete portion and dirt track portion, it's easy to dip outta the way and social distance. read more

I was so excited when this track opened! And it really has not let me down. The "trail" (or pathway) has paved (and lined) for biking and also dirt for running and walking. It's the best of both worlds, really. Even when there are plenty of people on the path, it never gets congested. However, I do suggest that walkers/runners stick with the dirt during the heavily trafficked times. The trail is sprinkled with benches, beautiful growing gardens, dog stations, trash cans, bike fixing spots and even an outdoor gym area. A few of the homes along the route are decorated adorably, as well as a couple of sweetly placed "Kindness Rocks" areas. Part of the travel is through the golf course where you pass inside a protective tunnel, pretty cool actually. The Tracks are fairly level, not too many hills. Several parking spots along the route, depending on where you want to start/stop. At intersections, the trail is marked with arrows... just follow the signs, not hard to do. I love the "bike tire groove" in the staircases off of the Brea Canyon Channel. Thanks for adding these! When I bike or walk, I start at Aerovista Park, near Berry off Imperial, and take it all the way to Valencia. This is basically the entire Tracks at Brea trail according to the map. This is one of them the nicest walking paths around. It's been a great way for my wife and I to escape during this COVID-19 lockdown. Plenty of fresh air, nice paved paths and good exercise. We felt like people do a good job of social distancing and wearing masks when they approached others. You can pick up this in a number of different places. We tend to park over by Kramer and grab it near the Walmart. And kind of get it from the start of the newly remodeled area. You'll find signs that mark and note where the tracks begin in which ways to go. You will find it does get over by the Birch Hills golf course. When you have to look across the street and it kind of begins again so make sure you're paying attention for those signs. And you will have to cross the street at Birch. There is pet friendly people walking around. You can ride bikes. You can stroll or you can really get after it and run your heart out. You'll see it all. read more

What a nice hike along this popular trail. The trees are not fully grown so expect to be exposed to a lot of sun. What I enjoyed the most were the gnome displays, tree decorations at the base, little tree house doors, and the many painted rocks along the route. read more

City of Brea used the old train tracks around the city and transformed it to a great outdoor activity for not only its own residence but also its surrounding city neighbors . Hiking / biking trail. Well kept and always clean! I have 2 growing kids and I prefer to have easy access to this kind of activities. So I sold my old house and moved to City of Brea and got me a house directly connected to this trail! This is literally behind my backyard. I LOVE Brea ! This is a perfect trail located on the old railroad tracks that once ran through Brea. So clean, beautiful, and easy to access with multiple entry points. It's flat and paved, but there is also dirt portion. Bathrooms are located near the main (but small) parking lot. A fun exercise area is also located near there. There are informative markers along the path so history buffs would enjoy this trail. My favorite part are the trees and foliage that they have and are continuing to plant along the trail. It's beautiful and calming! We prefer to enter along the Mercury entrance on the far west side and park in the parking structure. The stairs there even have a bike rail to easily roll your bike up and down the stairs. Oh, and you can't forget about the generous neighbor whose house backs up onto the northwest end of the trail and always shares his bounty of tangerines with trail users. read more

This is a new track and it's quite hidden. There is a small lot for parking, bathrooms and seating. The track itself is very clean and has a concrete path for bikes and the walking path is on dirt. It's not a loop but a straight-ish path. Not much incline, pretty flat. Not much scenery as it faces residential backyards. Also there is basically no shade. So make sure you put on sunscreen and wear a hat. When I went it was very empty. Great for some exercise! Love to come back. read more

"The Tracks at Brea" is finally completed with a solid 4 miles bike / walking path. Part asphalt and part DG, the trail is new and clean! Let's take care if it! There are work out stations, restrooms, drinking fountains for us and our furry friends. There are the occasional bench seats but shade is very limited due to newly planted trees. Would be have been nice to see one giant tree planted as the centerpiece of the project. Anyway, nice clean, safe trail for all to use and exercise. Enjoy, compliments of my tax dollars! read more

I am giving this four stars due to the fact that if you want to walk the entire track there are not signs that have arrows pointing which way to go. I did access the map on the city of brea website but that only helped so much. There is a lot of guessing. Now, the track is not a loop so if you want to do the full thing as I did you'll need to leave one car on one end and one car at another. We left my Grandpa's car at Whole Foods near NASA & Valencia. You cannot park in the empty parking lots there even during this time. They have someone patrolling the lot. I left my car at Arrovista Park and began the walk. I immediately saw the tracks at brea sign but no arrows so I guessed where to start and I was wrong. You'll want to go east on imperial until you get close to 5 guys and then start the path on the left. The butterfly segment is my favorite! After the butterflies is where I got off track. So next time I'll have to start from the NASA side and go backwards to figure out where I went wrong. It is still open but community areas are closed. read more

My new outdoor walking trail. It's nicely landscaped and feels safe. Always friendly people along the trail as well. I used to love my whittier trail but it's become seedy. When I can get outdoors I'd rather do my workout outside and this is a great trail! I love the fitness equipment as well as all the cute rocks and fairy houses along the way! Parking is convenient as well off of birch street. Gotta get that workout and endorphins on in a place you enjoy! :) I can't wait to bring my kiddos with me too! The Track of Brea is a newly completed project for the community. The track offers a two way bike trail with a separate path for runners and walkers. Some of the cool amenities are the nine fitness stations, two bike repair stations, restrooms, drinking fountains and plenty of benches for everyone to enjoy. This trail was a rail road and train depot. The city transformed this 50 acre linear park to run approximately 4 miles. Overall, easily accessible to those who live or visit Brea. If you have plans to visit Downtown Brea, simply go up the parking structure near the river bed. Highly recommend for everyone to try. read more

Parking lot is right off of Brea Blvd on the West side. Parking is free and the trail is open until dusk. Trail offers asphalt for bikers and a gravel path for hikers, joggers or walkers on this relatively flat paved trail. This trail is open to walkers (no parking lot) on the east side (State College Street). Use of this location by me personally was over the course of six months and in excess of five visits. Distinct offerings are a bike tool station for tuning of your road cycle or mountain bike and all this with a free pump---if needed. No restrooms on the trail yet it has many benches and fifty-year Birch and Oak trees to provide shade during hot days. Do bring your cycling water bottle as they have a special water dispenser specifically engineered for this purpose, definite cyclists dream. Walking, talking and meeting were truly delightful with intellectual and trendy citizens of Brea, California. A patron did mention some interesting marketing methods by Mr. Donald Trump. New three level condos are (in-construction) seen on the east side offered by local star realtor Alex Horowitz. Architecture is modern (Bauhaus?) and owners have direct access to the trail. I look forward to viewing the completed model. Who is the architect I wonder? Will be back soon (when in town). Do try this trail, can't go foul in any way. read more

A great place to enjoy a walk or a bike ride. The trail has a paved pathway and a hard packed dirt trail. The bike path is mainly for easy rides along the pathway. There's a restroom available at the parking lot area. The water facets are not being used due to Covid 19 restrictions. The path is pet friendly. Always bring water while using the trail. I love the tracks at Brea. This path is nicely upkept and there are cute stops on the way. I've walked it from arovista park to nasa and back and it took me almost 3 hours. I love that there is a nicely paved 2 way bike trail as well as a dirt walking trail and wide enough for social distancing. The walking trail is so much better on my knees and feet. There's not much shade so it can get hot in the daytime. I used to ride my bike down here when I lived really close by. Great little trail in Brea and most people on it are pretty courteous. There are two bathrooms on the path and bike stations. The exercise stations are closed because of covid-19 and I've never seen the water fountains work. Overall though I love the tracks and try to go when I have time. read more

Bravo to the City of Brea for executing a well thought out fitness trail. There are multiple options for entering the trail both by foot or park your car and enter. The paved path is clearly divided with a lane for bicyclists, walkers/runners and then a separate parallel pAth covered with small gravel for those who need a "softer" surface. If you enter off of Brea Blvd., there are restrooms availabe, a covered area with tables and seating and a drinking fountain. Adjacent is an "outdoor gym" that has strength training stations accessible to all, even those using wheel chairs. Be aware during the warmer weather that you will not find much shade midday. Plenty of shade available morning or late afternoon. The Tracks are used by all ages and is a safe environment. Try it, you'll like it. Fantastic walking path. You'll just want a flashlight after dark because the path isn't lit up very well at night. There's a small lot where parking is available next to Brea Fire Station 2 (164 N Brea Blvd) and then just start walking! The trail goes pretty far so you can just keep walking straight (crossing a couple streets along the way) and then turn around whenever you want. The path is separated for pedestrians and bikers, leashed dogs are common. read more

Such a great place to walk, rollerblade, run, or bike. I choose to park off Brea Blvd, near the fire station in the lot that the Yelp directions take you to. They have a drinking fountain, public weight lifting machines, bathrooms, and more. From there, you can choose to head west or east. We did both. You safely cross Brea Blvd and head west. There is a soft sand/dirt trail to walk on, to avoid the paved/cemented bike path. You pass the yards of some local residents, newly mulched landscaping, some trees, and eventually reach the riverbed. From there, you go down some stairs and parallel the riverbed a little further which brings you near the Mercury building on Imperial Highway. This is me waving to the ex boyfriend who works there.‍ We turned around that point to head east. Once we passed the weight machines again, the trail continues on past some industrial building spaces and more homes. People are friendly and many walk their dogs on leashes. The doggy bag stations are appreciated. The path includes some great benches for resting, too. We continued until we reached the underpass of the (57) freeway. Workers were still landscaping that area with rock and mulch, and while it hasn't opened to go further, the hard hat dude mentioned it should be within a month. Great mostly flat trail for walking, running, and biking. Two paths one is the bike trail and the other is a compacted dirt walking trail. The start and finish of the trail are in odd places. One end of the trail is located in the industrial park behind the Suzuki building off the 90 by Whole Foods and the other end is by the Brea downtown shopping mall. The entrances and exits are low key with a small sign saying tracks at Brea. It gets kinda busy during the weekends but pretty empty on weekdays. Little shade on the path. Halfway there's a little parking lot and outside gym with a bike pump and bathroom. Trail is a little over 3 miles I think with lots of cross walks to cross the streets. Little elevation gain with a set of stairs by the downtown Brea shopping parking structure. read more

Epic trail in the Brea area. Very new and clean. Great for running, walking, and bike riding. The entire length of the trail is about 4 miles. Great for individuals and groups. They have exercise courses and bike repair stations and drinking fountains along the trail. read more

This trail connects with La Habra to the west and ends up at Whole Foods shopping center at the east end. HOWEVER, less than 1% of those encountered on the trail are wearing masks nor socially distancing. It's usually a nice little ride or walk, but it's currently flooded with ignorant, naive, or inconsiderate people. Not going to use it at this time. read more

the tracks are so clean and so wide and spaced for everyone to travel back and forth. we went from middle to end to other end and enjoyed the smooth walk the whole way. i parked on a residential street to get onto the tracks. you can map this location and the pin will drop you where there parking and bathroom available. this bathroom is the only one available from the beginning to the end of the tracks. there are also stretching gears at this location. it's a great place to take dogs to walk with you. my 3 yo walked the first 15 minutes and then sat in stroller the rest of the way. sun gets in her eyes tho during the morning hours. read more

Eloquent asphalt trail, not so close to traffic where breathing in CO2 can be quite disheartening when on a physical journey. However, a passage under the 57 can make the trail near society seem tranquil. read more

A nice level walk for my older dog-- and we can go as far, or not so far, as we like. It also takes us to downtown Brea and our favorite Starbucks. Nicely maintained and we appreciate the little perks, such as dog relief stations, workout stations, and bathroom. read more

Wow! I can't believe construction has been going on and I've never seen this trail until recently. I drive past it all the time!!! I usually go running at the Ted Craig Park near by. This past Sunday I went for a quick run (after eating all that ice cream). There's a small parking lot off of Brea Blvd., next to the fire station. The trail sits between an industrial area and the residential area. It's very peaceful. I did see some families walking as well as couple of bike riders. I know Brea is a relatively safe city but always be aware of your surroundings and make sure you don't leave your personal belongings in the car where people can see it. I started from Brea Blvd. and it took me to State College Blvd. I know the trail goes across the street and under the 57 freeway but I didn't go beyond it. They're still doing construction off of Brea Blvd. to extend the trail. It's also dog friendly. I really like this trail and I can't wait to ride my bike on it. Gives me a reason to eat more ice cream and burn it off. Haha!!! read more
