    Pork with red sauce
    Sarah P.

I've been craving tamales and haven't been able to find a good spot/go-to that's also affordable. I'm so happy I finally crossed paths with this truck! The tamales range from $3 (corn husk) to $3.75 (banana leaves), and you can get chicken, pork, cheese and peppers, or black mole. I got one of everything to try, and I was perfectly content with each one of them. I got green sauce with the chicken, and the pork came with red sauce. The red sauce had a decent kick to it that I felt more in my stomach than when I was eating it, but so worth it. The tamales were soft and very moist, perfect texture. The black mole was wrapped in banana leaves and it left an aromatic flavor, very similar to certain Vietnamese snacks. I think my favorite had to be the cheese and peppers though, had a great spice to it and was delicious. My partner really enjoyed the chicken ones as well. Service was great and fast. The guy taking my order was very nice and helpful; I sometimes feel out of place, but he was super welcoming. I also scored an extra dulce tamale with pineapple and it was tasty - not too sweet which I appreciated. Some seating available, and there's a counter. Overall my new go to spot for tamales!

These tamales were incredible! I ordered the chicken and beef, and even though I had to wait a bit since they had sold out, it was totally worth it. While I waited, I tried a queso tamale, and it was absolutely amazing, full of flavor and perfectly moist (not dry at all!). They tasted like they came straight out of my Abuela's kitchen, so comforting and full of authentic homemade flavor. You can really taste the love and care in every bite. I'll definitely be coming back, especially with the holidays coming up!

I've been eyeing their truck and craving homemade tamales for months. You can pull in behind the business, it's pretty quiet. And plenty of parking. I didn't get his name but he took our order and was so patient with us. He never rushed us and took his time explaining basically everything. We got 8 tamales to go (9 total, the threw in a tamale fresa!) and an horchata with the works that was so dang good. Literally what I have been looking for, for months. Support our community and local businesses, these tamales are made with so much love and care and it definitely shows with the service and food. 1000000/10 experience.

Super impressed! While waiting for the EV to charge, there was a faint savory smell of something delicious in the air. Walking a bit and we discovered a tamale truck & ordered the simple Chicken with Green Salsa. The masa was absolutely amazing in the softness/fluffiness, and chicken was super tender + tasty. Definitely would love to come back to try more, I guess I'll have to charge my car more often!

HANDS DOWN THE BEST TAMALES I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Super friendly and clean. I have been on a search for banana leaf tamales without the astronomical price. I ordered 2 chicken and 4 pork thinking it was more than enough. Everyone in my family licked the leaf lolllll they tossed in a bonus treat for me and left an imprint on my heart and my belly. Thank you for existing!!

I was never a fan of tamales because for me it was dry and flavorless. Only until I found this place that I'd realize I've been eating bad tamales all my life . These are so moist and so flavorful. I was only looking for a tamales place because my husband need to bring some to work but I'm so glad to have found this place. My favorite is the pork one with red sauce, it's so flavorful I'm having withdrawal The owner was also so nice and friendly. He threw in a free dessert for us, I think it was pineapple flavor. Parking is easy since it's right next to a huge lot. Can't wait to come back and try the ones wrapped in banana leaves, they didn't have those last time.

Amazing!! I've been looking for good tamales in OC and finally found some. I texted them to place an order the night before. I will definitely be coming back here for more. My favorite was the pollo en salsa verde.

*********LISTEN UP ORANGE COUNTY!!****** THE BEST TAMALES IN TOWN HAS OPENED UP THEIR OWN TAMALE TRUCK IN GARDEN GROVE!!! "Tamales Mireya" has been my Tamale Lady for years!! Every year during Christmas I order over 130 tamales to pass out to my neighbors and they all go crazy for them! One time we had a tamale party where we all agreed the tamales I brought mine from "Mireya Tamales" and they were the best compared to the rest! They are so damn good that every time I try to eat tamales elsewhere, Im disappointed and they can never compare to my home made tamales made by Mrs. Mireya. They are in Garden Grove and you can call ahead if you want to put in a big order. They accept Zelle or Cash. They are there Tuesdays, Thursdays (4-8pm) and Sundays (8am-12 noon). While you are there, you must try the Arroz Con Leche or Champurado! Hits the right spot when you eat your tamales. My personal favorite is the green chili chicken!! Then the pork with red sauce and then the jalapeño with cheese. I don't like spicy. But my family LOVE the jalapeño and cheese that like spicy food. They now added a new tamale to the list. The Mole with Chicken! OMG that sounds so good but I was told that's the first one that sells out so I need to go back earlier when they open so I can try them. I don't care what city you are in.... IT'S WORTH THE DRIVE TO GO THERE WHEN THEY ARE THERE! And if you need any other day, call them direct and you can pick up from them. I usually pick up at their house in Buena Park. YOU WILL BE RUINED AFTER YOU EAT THESE TAMALES AS ALL THE REST WILL NOT COMPETE! She uses quality masa, quality meat and stuffs the tamales with meat! The masa is not the greasy kind that usually gross me out. These are honestly the BEST TAMALES YOU WILL EVER HAVE! Just Google the address 12791 Bustos St., Garden Grove, Ca 92840. They are there Tuesdays, Thursdays nights and Sunday mornings till noon. The truck is parked on the street. There are two trucks parked next to each other. You can't miss it. It's $33 a dozen. You might as well buy two dozen to save yourself a trip. They can be frozen.

Came here for the first time and it was amazing, haven't had good tamales that hit the spot in a long time, and these did it for me. Super friendly and amazing service will most definitely be coming again and HIGHLY recommend!! They also have a us an extra tamale and an horchata on the house! (: super humble people!

Her transparency, responsiveness, attention-to-detail and professionalism consistently set her apart. Brittany was always proactive and reliable; we never had to chase for answers or run around in circles. One of the greatest advantages was her delivery of timely, updated quotes--something we deeply appreciated for effective budget management. Even before we booked the venue, Brittany walked us through detailed rain contingency plans, which proved invaluable when we encountered a once-in-a-blue-moon torrential downpour on our wedding day. As a bride coordinating family travel from across the globe--while also navigating significant challenges with an approved vendor--Brittany stepped in at critical moments and ensured the day ran smoothly from an operational standpoint. Our guests could not stop praising the outstanding, multicultural food (especially the bulgogi beef bao, dessert stations and confetti cake) and the thoughtful allergy accommodations, which were handled seamlessly. Guest experience was one of our top priorities, and Brittany's execution gave us complete confidence. On our wedding day, anything within her scope was something we never had to worry about - and the food was one of the TOP compliments received from guests. The only feedback we strongly encourage the business to consider is a thorough audit of its approved vendor list. Unfortunately, our greatest challenges stemmed from a vendor on this list. Brittany's efforts were instrumental in mitigating issues caused by this vendor that could have otherwise impacted the success of the event. The strength of Serra Plaza's internal team deserves to be matched by the same standard across all required vendors to protect future couples. Beyond this, our experience was exceptional, and we are deeply grateful for Brittany's leadership and support. Thank you to the full team for stepping up to the plate when we needed it the most to execute the best day ever. We recommend Jay's Catering and Serra Plaza to any couple for the food, professionalism, service and kindness!

Somehow I stumbled upon Banh khot Vung tau first and it's hard not to compare the differences, hence the 3 rating. I'm not in HB/Westminster/FV/GG area that often. I'm usually there once a month for a pedicure. So after my pedicure my cravings always hit for Banh khot or Banh cuon or Spring rolls .If I can have all 3 at once that would be my death row meal LOL. Anywho I wanted my Vung tau, I came in an hr before closing and the owner had a sign out the door about closing an hr earlier for his daughter's birthday, which I respect wholeheartedly. I was going to go home defeated but I was like oh yea let me try Banh khot Lady ! It was only a mile and a half away. I pull up and my Lord the parking lot is a clusterf*ck. School was out so trying to pull in with the herd of teens crossing was overwhelming, somehow I got the last space right up front. It was Banh khot Wednesday so they were busy as hell!!!! The owner asked if I had a pick up order, I didn't, then he asked if I ever been there, also no. He broke it down, very straightforward menu. He had personality plus was so awesome to everyone coming in. I ordered 9 banh khots , a five piece egg roll and a bag of Chicarron. Wait wasn't too long for me but after it was for others placing their order right there. Fantastic timing on my part. I was starving so I opened the bag of chicarron and OMG CRAAAAACK!!!! I couldn't stop eating them. I had to force myself to stop so I didn't get sick. These were small crackling type pieces, not big puffed chicarron like a liquor store pork rind. I'd totally get it again! 10 stars! Got home, cracked open the Banh khot, I tried one naked without the lettuce mint cilantro fish sauce. Their Banh khot is drastically different than Vung. BKL banh khot were shrimp and pork together. The batter was thick like a mini pancake and spongy, a tad bland. I was too spoiled with Vungs banh khot, their BK are thin and crispy, like a delicious crispy shrimp crepe and lots of green onions and crack pepper sauce along with fish sauce. BKL could definitely use a pepper sauce and go heavy handed with the green onion to top. The texture just wasn't for me. Now the egg rolls! Those were damn delicious!!! Packed with protein. So good with wrapping them with the lettuce mix you're given. Dipped in fish sauce and added Sambal oelek , perfect bite! I'd easily come back for these! I'll definitely come back to BKL, for those addicting chicarrons and egg rolls and fantastic service. I'll get my BK at Vung and head over to BKL for the egg rolls LOL. Kill two birds with one stone. Don't be discouraged on trying their BKs , we all have different tastes. Texture and comparisons really weigh my judgment :)
