Tama Lacrosse is the place to go for lacrosse equipment. Their products are well-stocked and organized. Their staff plays and knows the sport. We are new to it and didn't know what to look for in getting the proper fit. The young man who helped us showed us the options, fit them to my son, and explained everything. Stopped in to get a youth stick re-strung, didn't need much, but I still asked to get it done. They did it for free as it was our first time there and a pretty easy job. Since we don't have lax dedicated stores where we live we made it a point to visit Tama. My lax crazed son could not have been happier with his experience. The staff was very friendly, very informative and he had a blast shooting in the cage. The highlight was getting his first self dyed head strung with pita pocket. The staff was very patient with him as he was nearly overwhelmed by all the choices. We will stop every time we come to town. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. So unprofessional and a bogus company. Took my money over 4 months ago and "lost" my order and still haven't received it. I dont have the mandatory uniform for my senior year. They did not make it a priority at all. They only started to complete my order when my father started going into the store on a daily basis to figure out what is happening because I am 2.5 hours away at college. They lied about no one on my team having part of the order when EVERY member has it besides me. My dad picked up a partial order and drove 2 hours to bring it to me. They messed up the order even more by giving me the wrong sizes! So now I have to wait even longer for my team apparel. No discount, and no communication on their end. SERIOUSLY DO NOT GO HERE. I have two sons and a daughter that have bought multiple items from Tama over the years. Last spring, my daughter had a head (that had been purchased at Tama) strung at Tama that was so poorly done, her coach told her a) it was unusable, and b) should ask for a refund. As she had a game the next day, she had it strung by someone closer to home. After calling and discussing it with the manager, I was told he would stand behind his work and refund the money. That is where the real trouble began. He never sent the refund. Multiple calls went unreturned. Emails went unanswered. He dropped off the face of the earth. Other employees weren't authorized address the issue. We've basically written off the $46.11 stringing fee, and will never purchase another item from Tama, nor will we ever recommend it anyone. Like going to Lacrosse University! This is the place to go if you, or your young lax player, are looking for a wide selection of equipment, a place to try them, and expert and friendly advice that you will simply not get a Dick's or one of the big box stores. After playing for 6 years, my daughter (who will be playing in high school next year) was ready to graduate from her beginner stick. At the advice of her coach, who noticed that her lacrosse strings were close to giving out after numerous seasons, we went to get a new stick for her birthday. The staff (especially Brian) were courteous, knowledgeable, and showed a real love of the sport, which my 13 year old appreciated. Brian showed us a 5-6 of the more advanced sticks, was able to articulate clearly the differences between each, and based on an understanding of the nuances between girls and boys lacrosse, gave some great advice on the pros and cons of each based on playing style. He even gave my daughter some great advice on shooting and cradling based on what his wife, who coaches women's lacrosse at one of the local colleges, teaches her players. We spent a good, relaxed, fun 30 minutes shooting, passing, and trying out the sticks and in the end my daughter found something she is really happy with! As for me, I learned a lot myself. Will definitely be back-- and encourage others to check out and buy from this gem of a store! read more
