I would avoid Tallgrass especially if you are purchasing Waypoint cabinets. When I expressed disappointment that the bottom of our upper cabinets were not all the same color their first response was to ask for more money to fix the issue. When I mentioned I wish I had been told about the color difference during the ordering process I was informed I purchased the "price conscious" line and "we get what we get". I found this strange since Waypoint was the only line they showed me. It would have been nice if they would have mentioned the color issue and let me know my options at the time of ordering instead of me finding out once the cabinets were installed. read more

We used Tallgrass for our kitchen cabinetry for two investment properties (based on our contractor's referral). When it came time to get a quote for our own kitchen (within our own home) Eric had the audacity to literally say that the project "wasn't worth his time," which is odd...given that we wanted all new cabinetry and have a large kitchen with ample cabinetry to replace. He wanted to charge me $750 just for the drawings when this fee was never previously mentioned with respect to the two previous projects in which Tallgrass completed. I was confused and floored that he had such a pompous attitude in that we wanted to work with him again and give him our repeat business. He said he had more work than what he could handle and that he generally just worked with contractor referrals (...AGAIN, we were "repeat clients" -- who were referred by our contractor -- and had a seemingly good experience and outcome with him on our two prior projects...or, so I thought). When I literally showed him the door, he apologized and kept asking to "reset." He then said he would proceed with working up some drawings, which he never delivered...nor, did he ever follow back up with me again. I'm still dismayed by 'that' conversation. He knows my husband is in Real Estate and that I'm in Interior Design, and that I'm in the process of building up my preferred vendor list. It goes without saying that I will not be referring anyone of my future clients to Tallgrass. I expect a higher level of professional courtesy than what Eric or Tallgrass is capable of delivering. Oh, and, they don't exactly accept "walk-ins" off the street...I had to return some samples one day, and the door was locked during their normal hours of operation. I had to call him on his cell phone in order to ask him to unlock the door. He apologized and said that he had to do that in order to get any work done...what business does that? read more

Horrible experience. When I walked into the store, I was "greeted" by a very angry dog; teeth born, growling, and barking. Since one should always have a healthy dose of respect for these animals, I slowly backed up--until I was in a corner. The dog persisted. Having been attacked by a dog in my past where the owner of that dog insisted, "was the nicest dog in the world," I felt a bit trapped. After what seemed like quite a while, the owner came out of her office in back and patronizingly laughed[insert dismissive laugh here] and said, " ha ha ha, he's fine." To which I replied, "Well, I'M NOT!" No apology or attempt to pull ol' Fido away from me. As the dog continued to growl, the owner looked at me and asks, "can I help you?" Yeah, lady, scold your dog, remove it to your office and apologize! This was a lay down sale for them on a new kitchen for our new commercial space. I'm not sure what the profit would be from my project--and they will never know either! I think they need a sign in the front window, "Beware of out-of-control lap dog." Took off work to go down to Castle Rock and meet with Kim about cabinets for our entire house a month before our remodel began. Was told we would have our quote in 2 weeks. After 3 weeks we called and she said one more week. She called our contractor 2 weeks AFTER our remodeled started and said she could have it by the end of the week. We said, NO THANKS! Really annoying when your time is wasted. We had to go with stock cabinets from another company in order to keep our project on track. Had to change a lot of our designs, so that money was pretty much wasted. read more

We had gotten 3 quotes in Castle Rock and decided to go with Tallgrass Kitchen and bath. We were remodeling our kitchen due to a water leak and needed kitchen cabinets quickly. One of the reasons we went with Tallgrass Kitchen and Bath is that we were told that a "rush" could be put on our cabinets and we would have them in 2 weeks. We had measurements taken twice and I told the Designer who came out that I wanted the same layout and to mimic that cabinets that were already there. We signed a contract and put half of the total down per the contract terms. After we signed the contract and put down the deposit, all communication stopped. We had to call after a week and were then told the cabinets would take 4 weeks. When we expressed our displeasure as we were told 2, we were told we could cancel the order. At this time we had 2 weeks in, so reluctantly kept the order as we felt like we did not want to start over somewhere else. We waited to contact Tallgrass again until date we were told that the cabinets would be in. We were met with hostility and anger and the Designer hung up on us, when after a month we were upset that no specific date could be given. After a phone call with the owner, we got a delivery date and paid the cabinets in full per our contract terms. Once we received the cabinets and had them installed, we realized that the Designer had ignored what I instructed and ordered different cabinets than what were there. We had 2 blind corner cabinets in the original design and there were none ordered. There were fillers in place of where the blind corner cabinets were and the silverware drawers were completely different. During this time, we found out that the Designer had been bad mouthing us to contractors in the area, that we knew. I was appalled at her unprofessionalism and her vindictiveness. I emailed the owner to express my displeasure and explained what his Designer had done. He called me back, and apologized, but basically told me there was nothing he could do. I am giving one star as the quality of the cabinets met our expectations, however the service did not. We went with a smaller business as we felt as though we would be treated better than a large box store. Unfortunately that was not the case, and we will not recommend Tallgrass due to the way we were treated by the Designer there. read more
