Daniel feels like a shaman or guru one treks the Himalayas to go find. The negative reviews apply for those who are body shy which if you want to keep it real; he's not for you. If you really want to find a true therapist, he is 100% for you. I went in for right shoulder pain and never once did his massage hurt like it did with other massage therapists, but a wild thing happened that compels me to write this. An hour after I got a massage from him and showered, the right shoulder developed a rash for 5 minutes and then went away and the pain that I had in that shoulder for months had completely disappeared! It's like he drew the bad energy right out of the area! I could write so much more about how amazing and kooky he is. I'm conflicted in that I feel like I want to keep him all to myself, but also want to tell everyone about how wonderful he is. PEOPLE OF COLOR, DO NOT GO HERE!!! I bought a massage for my friend, a black man, as a birthday present. Basically Gerzon spent the whole time saying weird eugenicist shit to him, talking about how African people have such different genes, they're built for athleticism because of the bush or whatever, repeatedly saying my friend is "built like a Ferrari" while he RUBS MY FRIEND'S BODY. WHAT THE EFF. I basically paid $100 for this guy to say racist garbage to my friend for an hour. He talked my friend's ear off with neo Darwinist DRIVEL instead of giving a THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE. ALSO it was just a straight up bad massage, the body work was like doing little exercises and bending limbs with a little massage thrown in. IF YOU'RE NOT WHITE DON'T GO HERE BECAUSE THEIR CREEPY MASSEUSES WILL EXOTICIZE YOU AND NOT EVEN RUB YOU DOWN RIGHT FOR YOUR TROUBLE. Hey now, I've been to Daniel at least a dozen times over the past three years. I'm a Black man, fyi with a typical athletic build and health issues that come from living the American lifestyle of high stress and bad diets. I'm writing this review in response to an earlier posting on Yelp criticizing Daniel's work and I felt the need to leave a better opinion of Daniel. Without question, Daniel is a fantastic massage therapist. He believes in what he does and he works very hard to address pain, soreness, posture, breathing and muscle tension. I have no qualms whatsoever recommending him because he always tries to do his best. I really like that he is willing to do some stretching exercises to warm up my muscles and ligaments before going into a deep tissue massage. Typically, after I visit Daniel I feel years younger and in touch with my physical body again. That's important because my work is mentally intense, sitting behind a laptop, sifting through data and analyzing business trends. That leads to a lot of weekend workouts or late night workouts that stress my body out. So, I go to Daniel to get realigned. It's an imperfect cycle but it works for me. Not all massage therapists work for everyone. I think you should give him a try and see how hard he works for you. read more

The service and the attention paid was amazing. Daniel is one of a kind and he is so personable. He really helped my boyfriend with his body challenges. He even showed me ways that I can help him at home in between visits to him. He feels like family because of the conversation and the customer service was very good. One week after getting a 90-minute massage at Talented Touch, I am still furious at how badly I feel my body was violated. I can confirm some of the good things said about Daniel - he's excited about his work, and willing to go into overtime. That's where the compliments end. Like other women who reviewed Daniel's massage, I too felt completely violated. I found myself moving my hands to cover my private parts often. I am mad at myself for not walking out early or being more vocal about how uncomfortable I was. Here were some bad things about the massage: 1. He undid my bra, which would have been fine if he kept the blanket on me. But he didn't. Lying on my back, he would twist me so that my chest was bare to the world. Or at least, to him. 2. His hands went inside my underwear to massage my butt many times. his fingers went where NO fingers should go in a professional massage. There was no an inch of my body that he didn't touch. 3. Lying on my back to start, he asked me to curl in a ball - bringing my knees to my forehead. to help me, he started with his hand on my lower back. He went right down my butt crack, and pressed his palm into my vagina to intensify the stretch. 4. when lying on my back, he rubbed my stomach and said, "mamma mia, you have such a good body." As if I didn't already feel uncomfortable. I'm writing this so that every female going into a massage with this man knows what she is up again and has a plan to get out. My suggestion would be to say something beforehand, like "no touching within 3 inches of my underwear and bra." read more

I do not recommend his services to women. I've visited Daniel for years and often felt that he got too close to my genitals, but my last visit to Daniel was 100% sexual assault. You don't need details, all you need to know is: WOMEN SHOULD NOT GET MASSAGES FROM DANIEL GERZON. WOMEN: DO NOT SCHEDULE MASSAGES AT THIS PRACTICE. He has changed up his business alot lately since I blew the whistle on him and he is no longer taking new clients. This is a good thing, but I hope he's also going to be getting counseling and support, though I have no reason to believe that Daniel even accepts that he has a problem. When I asked him about the negative reviews he's received, he basically shrugged them off as having been written by ignorant, uptight people. He also pointed out that he has about 5 bad reviews out of 45. My question to him is: How many women have to accuse you of sexually violating them in order for you to take them seriously? Is it really possible for 5 people to complain of having the same experience of sexual violation with you and for their claims be completely unfounded? I saw Daniel for the first time a few years ago after a bike accident and nothing else worked. I walked out of there feeling CURED. I had another massage with him yesterday and was reminded of just how talented he is. He is an amazing massage therapist. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the body, muscles, tendons, alignment, etc. He will do an assessment of your posture and alignment standing up before working on you, starting from how the arches of your feet fall and which leg is stronger, your knee and hip alignment, all the way up to your head. He knows what he is doing. Daniel is passionate and knowledgeable about his work and continues his education of different techniques (i.e. he's currently studying some new somatic therapy techniques). Like many people have said, he's different - but in an amazing way. He will go further than other massage therapists you've seen, because he's GOOD and knows exactly what needs to be done to fix you up right. A massage with Daniel is not for the conservative types or bodily shy - he will twist and turn you and the sheet may shift, he will massage your glutes and push on your sacrum, he may get on the table to have more leverage to work on your back - these are things most people are not used to in a massage. He's not violating you, he's getting where he needs to go to make you feel AMAZING. It can be an odd feeling to have someone other than a lover touching you in certain areas, but those are often the areas that need some love! But if you're not down with that, just don't go to him. But if you go with an open mind, you will not be disappointed. He works hard to make you feel good. He breathes deeply when working on you to encourage you to breathe so the muscles will release as you exhale - also because he is working HARD. I've never once felt like he was inappropriate - he's just doing the best he possibly can to make you feel good. If you're uncomfortable with him getting near any area, just say so before he starts and be conscious of the sheet moving. He also almost always goes over what you've paid for because he wants to finish working on what he knows needs to be addressed. His prices are moderate for the area, but once you include the fact that he gives discounts to students, teachers, non-profit employees, etc, and if you go during 'off hours' AND the fact that he almost always goes over the amount of time you've paid for - it's an incredible deal. DO YOUR BODY GOOD AND GET A MASSAGE FROM DANIEL! Just relax and let him do his job. And if you're the type who wears a bra to your massage (right where massage therapists spend most of their time?), you are not the type to get a massage from Daniel. read more

Daniel's a bit odd, but he is a talented massage therapist. I called Daniel last minute for a Friday evening massage, and he was able to book me for 6 pm. I arrived on time, but he was running a little late. No big deal. Gave me time to check out the interior of Bally's (his massage room is located just off the Bally's lobby). Before beginning the massage, we talked a little about my issues, and he had me turn around and checked my posture and alignment. Then we got started. Daniel's technique threw me off at first. His hands move around quickly, almost like fumbling, but then they "find" what they are looking for, and latch on. He does this for each new set of muscles. He also breathes loudly and makes noise, more noise than I make -- but I eventually clued in that he's trying to encourage me to breathe more and let go. After a while I noticed a similarity between Daniel's style and the experience I had with Rolfing. There's a concentration on stretching and aligning muscles and tendons. After my muscles were warmed up, he began twisting and pulling my body around. This is evidently a characteristic of somatic massage, which is one of the many different types of massage that Daniel is trained in. One other thing I should say about Daniel -- he is himself fairly intense, in a very pleasant way. He is very high energy, and gets completely absorbed in what he is doing. He also is very passionate about what he does. An odd confluence of this passion, his energy, and the fact that I was his last appointment of the day led to my 1.5 hour massage turning into a 2.5 hour massage. Even though I still paid for only one and a half hours, he apologized to *me* for losing track of the time! The night after my massage I slept like a baby, for the first time in a week. My body felt much looser and I had no muscular aches or pains, for the first time in probably months. I have just left Daniel and Talented Touch Massage - without a massage. Why you ask? Because Daniel, appearing to be kind and professional over the phone coordinated an appointment for a massage for me, gave me a time, and when I showed up on time turned me away saying he was "too tired." He had the audacity to ask me to reschedule. To Daniel's credit, I called him today at 2pm after a particularly hellish day at work. I left a voicemail asking if there was any availability for today, and when I heard back from Daniel he suggested 7:30pm. He was not sure if the room would be ready so we settled on 8pm when the room was guaranteed. I walked in the door at 7:55pm, and announced myself as Daniel's next appointment. The man (who I later found out to be Daniel) sitting on a sofa typing on a laptop looked up at me and said "oh hello." I proceeded to stand in the hallway for the sum of 5 minutes without being greeted, offered a seat in any of the various rooms, or a courtesy glass of tapwater. After a few quizzical looks and a string of heated text messages to friends on the matter, I walked out. The man who was sitting on the sofa came out after me, calling my name ("Ah, so you are Daniel," I thought). He explained to me as I stood on a step and he leaned over the banister from the landing nearest the door that he was tired. Might we reschedule? He suggested that I look on his website for alternate dates and times. He explained that he needed to do a better job of saying when he was booked up and that he had been in the business for SO many years (as if any of this is relevant). As we talked, a young woman walked out of the door, and down the stairs, seemingly his previous appointment that had worn this poor masseuse out to the point of rudeness and poor business practices. Daniel Gerzon is a wonderful massage therapist. I know him through my sister. He is amazing at his craft. He has worked at top spas around the country including the Ritz, but recently started his own business. His massages helped me tremendously after the car accident I was in last year. He is very detailed in his technique and really cares about his clients. I have nothing but good things to say about him. I highly recommend him. On a side note: Daniel is a very interesting individual. He is from Amsterdam. In his youth, Daniel once hitchhiked from Holland to India to learn about Eastern culture. He studied wildlife in the Galopogos Islands for a number of years. Afterward he went to Duke University and received his masters degree in Environmental Science. He loves chocolate chips and keeps them on hand at any given moment. If you go to him for a massage and are hungry, ask for chocolate chips. He will definitely give you some. read more

I just finished my first session with Daniel and have to second everything that I read on Yelp. He is the nicest, most gracious, soothing, and professional person. This was the best massage I've ever had. I've had bodywork done before, but never like this. In the past, the practitioner would haphazardly rub at my skin for what basically felt like a deep massage -- like they were making it up as they went along. No so with Daniel. With Daniel, I knew within 5 minutes that he knew what he was doing. We spent a few minutes talking about my posture -- I'm a tall guy who tries not to slouch -- and a few more minutes talking about the back, neck, and jaw pain I've been feeling. Daniel talked to me about referred pain, and pulled out a big reference poster of the muscles and bones, showing me how pain here was caused by tension there and explaining his approach. Then, he spent the next hour working me over, with a combination of muscle work and stretches. He talked me through what he was doing, and showed me some stretches and bends that I could do on my own between sessions. As for payment -- we got started a little late -- an though we went for the full hour, Daniel only wanted to charge me for half. Daniel was fantastic! He is very gracious, very intuitive, and makes the experience relaxing and therapeutic. He teaches you a lot about your posture, your spine alignment, your muscle strengths and your weaknesses. When I first entered his massage room, he made me stand in front of a mirror to teach me about how I hold my body and how I (unequally) distribute my weight to one side. I also lean forward and he showed me how to hold my neck and head up properly. Not only did I get a very relaxing massage, but he allowed many opportunities to teach me the different ways that I can correct my posture and every-day physical motions so that I would put less stress and tension in my body (ie: use the left arm more frequently for things like opening up doors in order to balance out the stress I put on the dominant right arm) The massage started with an overall analysis of my body, where it needed the most massage-help and where I needed the most stretching. He spent a lot of time ironing out my tension and went way over the one hour time that I had paid him for (he didn't ask for more, in fact... he cared so much about fixing me up that it was okay to work overtime to get as much done as he could!) He really cared, he's very talented, and I walked away with a lot of knowledge that will help improve my health! He should charge more because it was an A++ job! read more

I've only had a few therapeutic massages in my life. Most of my massage experience has been with a physical therapist doing manual work on my lower back. I was apprehensive about going to someone new who might not be as well-trained in therapeutic massage, as I didn't want to end up walking out with my back worse off than when I came in, but my experience with Daniel was GREAT. He spent the first ten minutes talking to me about my back injury and a couple other muscle groups that have been bothering me on/off for a while, and he explained a few things he observed from just looking at my posture and based on what I'd told him about problem areas. Then he got to work on a massage that lasted nearly two hours, which is longer than I ever imagined I could lay there for massage work - but it flew by! He explained things to me as he went along, and also suggested stretches or exercises to strengthen and improve certain areas. I had scheduled 60 minutes and got twice that amount of time, which was incredibly generous. I got the impression that he is more interested in helping you walk out of there feeling better and satisfied with your massage than making sure he gets every penny from you for the exact amount of time you've scheduled. This is way different from my experience at other establishments, where it sometimes feels like your massage therapist is watching the clock the whole time and just going through the motions. Last winter, I went to a different downtown massage place, and even though I asked the therapist to pay some attention to two main areas that were bothering me, she didn't work on one of them at ALL... apparently it didn't fit into her one-hour massage plan! It would have been nice to know that before I paid a ridiculous sum of money for a massage that didn't even address my needs. With Daniel, you know you are going to get a great massage addressing the areas where you really need the help at a very reasonable rate. I definitely look forward to going back soon. read more

With nagging muscle aches and neck & shoulder soreness, I decided to try Daniel out after reading some reviews here on yelp. I was late for my appointment, yet he not only gave me the 90 minutes I paid for- my massage ended up lasting 2 hours. Daniel is very friendly and knowledgeable. When I first got there, he had me stand in front of a mirror and he assessed my posture. We talked about what areas were bothering me before beginning and he was very receptive. He does a good job of identifying and explaining the what and whys. He also showed me some stretches I can do at home to alleviate some of my issues. The massage itself, as another reviewer noted, is really suited for those in need of body work. But it is still enjoyable. He spent a lot of time on areas where I didn't even know I had issues, but after leaving I could definitely tell the difference. I felt light and limber walking out of there. Wow! Just got back from seeing Daniel! He is awesome. Not only was the massage relaxing but he was working with a purpose. He stretched me, taught me how to stretch, invited me to bring my bf along to show him some techniques. I too have had a massage where people just rub, try to sell you stuff, and then move along, but this is not that experience. Daniel checked to see what sides of my body weren't aligned, as well as the stronger parts of my body and then adjusted the massage for me. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. He is also very professional and nice to talk to. I signed up for a 45m session and ended up getting a little over an hour. Afterwards, he left the payment up to me. Teachers get a discount and if you go between a certain time, you can also get a discount. I am a teacher and went during the discounted time and still paid him extra. Thats how good he is. GO HERE! If anything, make sure you take the metro to this location. My GPS said I'd be there in 20 minutes but with traffic, it took about an hour plus parking is hell and/or at least $16. Daniel is FABULOUS. I have had massages before and it was always very quick and clinical (in the door, out the door right to the minute). Daniel took the time with me to assess my problem issues with my back and my leg, and spent time observing how I move, so he could best address my needs. He has a wonderful aura about him (I think another reviewer mentioned this and I agree!); he is very calm and soothing to be around. He spent the first fifteen minutes or so discussinng my problem areas, the root of the problems; then he took the time to explain a few things he observed about my posture. Now I have been to physical therapy on multiple occasions and see an orthopedic doctor as well, annd I learned more from Daniel in those 15 minutes than I ever have from my doctor or any physicial therapist! When he got to work on the massage (that definitely lasted more than the hour I had scheduled) , it whizzed by! I have been told that a good deep tissue massage can make you dizzy, but this is the first time I experienced it - just another indicator of how good he is at his job! He explained things to me as he went along, suggested stretches and exercises to strengthen and improve certain areas, and shared things that I can incorporate into my daily routine that will help my body, my posture, etc. I walked out of there feeling fabulous. I went into this massage with my hackles up because of a couple of previous reviews where women felt violated during the massage. However, I am someone who likes to have my glutes massaged because that's where all of the tension is, so I wasn't really too concerned. I did NOT feel at all violated during the massage. Daniel was professional and worked out the muscles that needed working. When I needed to turn over onto my back, he held the sheet in such a way so that I could turn over without him seeing anything and he averted his eyes, so it seemed like he was being cautious to be sure I felt comfortable. Prior to conducting the massage, he did a full body analysis where he examined my posture while I was standing and asked what areas were bothering me. I appreciated that because a lot of massage therapists start massaging you without really asking what you want during the massage. I scheduled an hour long appointment. It lasted 2 1/2 hours. I was concerned about the parking meter, which only had an hour of time. He insisted on coming outside after the massage to make sure that I hadn't gotten a ticket. He was more concerned than I was... In terms of the massage-- it definitely was not your traditional massage. It had a flavor of physical therapy mixed in. He helped me stretch out some of my muscles and offered tips for my sore leg muscle. He did massage my back, which was the main source of tension and I did feel better afterwards. However, after 2 1/2 hours, I did expect to feel more amazing and relaxed than I did. BUT, I did only pay for one hour and got a 20% discount because I am a student. So, for the very low price, i was pretty pleased. read more

I went to Daniel for a one hour massage, and I left very satisfied. Daniel first spent a lot of time working on my posture and providing a lot of helpful advice which I appreciated. I felt that he was trying his best to be as helpful as possible, and unlike most massage therapists, he was not bound by the clock. I did read other reviews, so I went on a day when I could stay longer, and trust me, it was well worth it. He first spends time analyzing your needs and then works on you. Daniel is more talkative than other massage therapists, and I did not mind that because that encouraged feedback. One more thing, I read other reviews about not going to him if you are not white - for what it's worth, I am a non-white male, and I had no issues with him at all. He is good. Go to him. read more

Best massage ever from one of the nicest humans on the planet. If there were 10 stars, that still would not be enough. My original appt with Daniel was during the Hawt on Yelp special a few weeks ago. I had to cancel because I got the dreaded H1N1 a day before my appt. I emailed him to say I was too sick and contagious to come in and he offerred to come to my house and bring me some groceries or medicine. Wow! This was obviously a sweet gesture (I declined) and I truly felt he cared about my health and well-being. I knew then that Daniel was a special person. If my massage was half as good as he is sweet, I knew I'd be pleased. After I recovered, I re-scheduled my 1 hour massage for today. I told him about my lower back pain, my experience with physical therapy, and he was able to tell me more about my body than my orthopaedist and physical therapist combined. I was very impressed with his knowledge of anatomy and obscure ligaments that I've only seen mentioned in textbooks. He not only gave a great massage, but showed me some new stretches that I could do and demonstrated them on me. He raved about my strength and flexibility, both of which my physical therapist ridiculed. (From that alone, I was sold. I'm a sucker for a compliment.) But, I have a feeling that my physical therapist is lying to me... I usually feel uncomfortable w/ a male massuer, but I felt completely at ease with Daniel. I was even able to do some of the more exposed bodywork without feeling like a stranger was feeling me up. This also could be because I spent 3 hrs on his table - yes, my 1 hr massage became 3- so we were well acquainted by then. Tip: Check to see if there are any appts adjacent to yours before you go. If you're lucky, your massage may be extended for no add'l charge. To address another reviewer's comment, yes, some of his techniques came a little close to my lady parts, but he made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I didn't feel skeeved out at all, just that he was doing whatever he could to address my issue...which he did. Addressing another comment: yes, there was a little commentary and a lot of Mmmhm, mmhm's in rapid succession and even the occasional "you go girl", but I found these comments to be more entertaining than annoying. For the most part, he did a whooshing sound which I think was to remind me to breathe, so I loved it. Overall, Daniel is very talented, extremely professional, and is able to work out kinks in nearly every part of your body. To top that off, he's a genuine nice guy. I visited Mr. Gerzon's office for a 90 minute massage that lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes. To shape expectations, the term massage therapist isn't accurate for him.... BODY MECHANIC is more appropriate. This wasn't a relaxing, pampering session that one would get in most spas. He inspected my posture, alignment, and took a lot of time with my vertebrae as he found some irregularities. The treatment was awesome!!! I think my review is in line with everyone else's. Daniel is an interesting person. He seems to genuinely care about whether or not the massage is working out the pain or tension in whatever part of your body hurts. He went for two hours although I only paid for one. Daniel gets 4 stars for massage, 1 or 2 for customer service. Massages are good. Intense. He hums periodically and talks a lot. But he also listens and tries to fix issues. I never feel amazing after but always feel like my body is at least a little bit better. However, we booked 90 minute massages through a Yelp special. Had a hard time with the website, emailed Daniel and he said 'the website should work' rather than just booking it himself. Finally booked it, we liked the massage and the price. He said he'd honor the price for 1 more massage, but then didn't have availability for 2 months. We told him we wanted to become long-term customers - 2x/month/2 ppl (our masseur had moved away) and he sent us prices, but then when we couldn't book anything, told us that he was just too busy for long-term customers. What? He offered a free 60 minute massage for my trouble, which I took (and it was good). So he has some understanding of the ridiculousness of the situation, but apparently he has enough one-off customers that he doesn't want to cultivate return customers. Very disappointing. Thankfully, after about 6 months, my masseur moved back! I'll review her once she's online. read more

I went to Daniel for an hour and 1/2 massage. I, too, experienced what I would call inappropriate behavior. *While lying on my stomach, he pulled my arms up behind me where my chest was completely exposed. *While lying on my stomach and doing some sort of stretch, he reached between my legs and under my body, putting pressure *down there*. *When he was ending the massage, I was on my stomach and he came to stand at the head of the table. He started reaching for my lower back and massaging, etc. All was fine UNTIL he literally straddled the back of my neck. He needed to get lower, I guess, but the next thing I knew, his balls were on my neck. I really wish I had been more vocal too. It sucks that in that really vulnerable situation women feel powerless. I would definitely never recommend this weirdo. He needs to learn what's appropriate and what's not. read more

I wish I could give 4 stars for how i felt after, and 2 stars for how i felt during, so I'll give 3 stars. I'm a guy - pretty fit, work out a lot, muscular, but need the massage to help keep my body and muscles sane, also, it helps relax me (sometimes, but I need a strong massage to get me there). I'll start with the "after" - a day after, I felt great, I am sure this is due to daniel's touch! During.. Oy vey. So much happened that I am confused what was going on. We started with me getting undressed, before I could lay on the table, daniel came in and asked me to walk from the back of the room to the mirror, he said something about how I walk and said its not natural for people to walk straight and usually people walk like chickens, and was surprised that I walked straight. I think it was a compliment. I'm standing there naked (I have no qualms with this, I grew up as a wrestler, so you're naked around guys all the time), and he's feeling my back from my head to my neck to my glutes: he ran his finger down my spine, past my anus and stopped before my shaft (over my balls). I told him previously I was quite comfortable in the nude, so I was only a little suprised by this. He said he was happy to see that I was fit, commenting that the last appointment was an obese man with a "large chest, almost female like" - it felt inappropriate that he would comment on another client with me, so I said that everybody is different, and he is probably used to it, to brush it off. I got up on the table, and he continued his massage - but TALKED A LOT. I could tell he knew what he was doing, but he was a bit organized, running in and out of the room often, leaving me mid massage on the table. As a fit guy, and fitting the "black guy stereotypes", my large hands and feet match the rest of my appendages. He commented that he would have to move my manhood around to massage me correctly - he seemed to be doing it very carefully, at first using a towel to nudge my tool, but then he just grabbed it with his hand at one point to move it aside. This is fine with me because it, in a completely flaccid state, especially in an exceedingly warm room (i was sweating!) can be quite large, so I understand needing to move it. but at one point he commented on it as he moved it saying "wow its so thick too, you should tell me about your technique during sexual intercourse so we can make sure it doesn't strain your back" .. ODD.. luckily we didn't talk about that. his massage came up right to my balls and upper thighs, almost as if he was searching for my prostate from outside of my body, he kept switching between my upper thighs and lower abs, and continued to move my tool - I'm sure this could have been done more efficiently. At one point he "tugged" on my tool a bit to move it, I told him that it would really get in the way if he did that and tried to cover it with a towel - but he was working there so he kept the towel off. I could see why women feel violated. Some things are just messy and could be organized better. No need to try to violate your client just to try new techniques of massage. 2 days later i felt like jelly. good jelly. read more

I found Daniel here on Yelp and he got rave reviews, so I decided to try him out. I didn't really know what to expect when I got here b/c it was in Bally's gym. Nothing wrong w/that, it's just different. So anyway, he was running late (15 min). I was in a good mood, so I let it slide haha. So then I go in, and he is talking to me and assessing my body and the way I stand/walk for like 20 minutes! I kept looking at the clock like there is NO WAY we're going to finish this thing before your 4 o'clock appointment, dude! So FINALLY I get on the table and it's the most unconventional massage I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend coming to him if you want to relax. It was more like being at the chiropractor on crack. At one point he actually got up on the table with me and was doing I don't know what. He talked the whole time and made noises such as "YYYYYYYUPPP, uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh HUH" over and over again. It was odd, but then again, the whole experience was a bit odd so it came w/the territory. Perhaps my favorite quote of his was: "Then this little guy comes over like this (my leg) and they all say, 'For real? For real? For real?' and he says, 'YEP for real! For real!! I told ya!' uh HUH!" Yes, that really happened. I waited a week to write this b/c I wanted to give him a fair rating. He did take a nagging lower back pain away from me and he was a really nice man. But I'm telling you flat out: Between his constant commentary, the actual "work" I had to do, and the noise of the gym right outside the door, you will become quickly aware that this is NOT a spa/relaxing experience! read more

I have lived all over the world and literally had 100s of massages. I can confidently say that Daniel is the best! Daniel is not only an amazing masseuse but really helps you understand the things in your daily life that can effect your overall muscle/ligament health and alignment. Just had a great prenatal massage with him as well--my back was aching and now it feels great! I am puzzled by some of these reviews alleging "sexual misconduct." People need to lighten up-in case you don't know this, one is generally nearly naked while getting a massage. This is pretty standard. Oh, also, masseuses touch you, which seems to be a shock to some of those posting reviews. I guess if you are uncomfortable with a male masseuse, best to go to a female masseuse. But all of this nonsense about sexual misconduct is just that! read more

I went to have a massage with Daniel during my busy summer working in DC. I have had significant back problems due to an accident and have had many massages. Daniel is one of the most talented massage therapists I have encountered. If you are looking solely for a spa ambience, don't come here. However, if you are in serious need of bodywork, Daniel is your man. I felt like a new woman after walking out of my massage. Daniel is an interesting, well-traveled and intuitive person. He is an interesting conversationalist but also respects your need for quiet. My only regret is that I couldn't go see him for another massage! read more

The ease of setting up an appointment, the friendliness of Daniel, the price- everything and the massage itself exceeded my expectations. For an extremely reasonable price, Daniel came to my apt for a couple's massage. He went above and beyond, massaging for much longer than the price required. I received a gift certificate for a massage from Daniel. I've been to several massage therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists so I can say with confidence that Daniel is great. I had some neck pain and back problems (I'm a law student and sit in front of my books/computer all day) so I used my certificate to see him. I had a one hour appointment with him that ended up lasting two hours. I offered to pay him more but he refused. I think he really likes his job and wants to make sure that his clients feel better after going to him. He spent the first half hour evaluating me, showed me how to correct my posture, my gait, and what I can do to decrease my back pain. He showed me some stretches that I can do and told me that I should have my boyfriend come in with me so that he can show him how to give massages, too. For those who want a "relaxing" massage, where the masseuse just rubs lotion on you, I would not recommend Daniel. He really works out the knots and sore spots. Also, he breathes in a specific pattern while massaging you. If you've never experienced it, you will think it's weird but he does it to encourage you to breathe that way while he is massaging you so that you know when to inhale/exhale. I found this place, thanks to YELP, on a promo email they had sent out about half price services from certain dates in November. Well, being I had been experiencing HORRID upper back pain for almost a week, I couldn't wait that long. So when I read his reviews, he appeared to be what I needed, EVEN though I was coming from BWI...on a slightly extended lunch break... ;-) I've had a few massages in the past, but that is all I get, the massage I asked for. Being I have never experienced such severe back pain, I didn't know what type of massage I needed, nor if it would help me out instead of hurting more, so I figured giving him a try after reading all the reviews he had, he seemed to be the guy for the job, even tho it was a hike for me to get out there. WELL WORTH THE DRIVE....!! There are too many massage professionals out there that really are not concerned about you, just about getting you in, putting in their time, and getting you out. This is NOT what I found with Daniel....Daniel is awesome!! I just had my massage yesterday, and am still on cloud 9. This guy KNOWS what he is doing, and has an aura about him that makes you feel very comfortable, and just relax and melt into the massage table. I certainly didn't feel rushed, and he was nice enough to even offer to run out and put more money in the meter (be prepared with LOTS of coins for the parking meters..which are at .25 cents for 7 minutes....). Not just that, he gave me extra coins because I didn't have enough. He was really concerned with my pain and problem....and integrated that into his massage, which was not the regular massage you normally get. And no, I don't mean it in the perverse way...ha, more like, he combined massage types based on YOUR body's need. He never made me feel uncomfortable, which I have with a couple male massage professionals in the past. I felt like I had my own personal massage professional , who knew exactly what my body needed. Ahhh....SOOO relaxing...! :-) As far as the location, just know that it IS inside the Bally's gym. So don't expect some fancy spa place. I've found, however, that some of the best services (food, massages, etc) are in the least likely places. Thanks Daniel!!! I too went to Daniel, looking for a place that wouldn't give me a weak massage not worth anywhere near $90 bucks....and I found it! As Kia said below, the first thing Daniel had me do was stand and the mirror and tell me what areas bothered me. Daniel knows his stuff, and knows more about the body than anyone else I've ever met. He is so sweet and he really cares about helping you. I've been to him about three times. He told me about my body and my posture, and what exercises would be good for me. I was shocked that he could tell so much by just identifying my body type. If you're having trouble with alignment or chronic pain, or just pain in general, go to Daniel! P.S. What can I say? Daniel is great. He does chat a lot and hums throughout the entire massage, but that is fine because his rates are amazing. Daniel is GREAT! I went to Daniel for a massage about a week ago. At the time he had no appointments available and fitted me into his busy schedule given that I had severe back pain. My back was very stiff and muscles were really tensed when I first walked in. He was very professional. He spent more time than I had initially booked my appointment for ensuring that when I walked out after the massage I would feel well. Surely enough I felt great. He is very committed to ensuring better health for his customers. I do have to admit that this is not the traditional type of massage I have received previously but is much more in terms of ensuring mobility and deep tissue massage all combined into one. I've been going to Daniel for massage therapy since early 2006 -- he and my daughter were working at the same spa. At the time I was training for my third marathon and thought the MT at my gym did a great job keeping my muscles loose for my long runs. The difference between my (then) regular MT and Daniel is that Daniel is able to manipulate my muscles to a relaxed state without the pain. I always thought some pain was just part of a good deep tissue massage. I've had many, many deep tissue massages from a variety of MT's so I thought it was the norm. Not so with Daniel! I always leave my sessions feeling completely relaxed, with all my pain points addressed. Which, by the way, while Daniel always wants to do a quick consult before he starts, he is able to find what is causing me trouble before I tell him where my pain points are... simply by touch.
