He had to leave his car because it wouldn't start. The car was left for a few hours and by the morning, was gone. No phone call, no warning, nothing. We found out that someone had towed it. Now, Ram's Eastgate Towing is charging us $400 to get the car. They said the fee was set by the city/county. I called the sheriff and PD and they said that this was not true, that rates are set by the towing company. Only NC highway patrol can set rates and by their website, a non-collision is around $185 and $40 storage fee AFTER the first night. The car was picked up early Monday morning and we picked it up on Tuesday. During a state of emergency, these people are capitalizing on people during a hard time. Without warning or notification. We did not get a chance to even get our own tow company and we're not sure if they we're out looking for cars to tow during the storm! They were rude and and unprofessional. We have been without power and water and these people only think about themselves as they kept showing my son the flooding in their driveway at their business, like we should be helping them! Do not recommend this place of business, at all.

On the way back from dinner, my friend's vehicle started making a weird winding sound. The weather was awful, practically torrential downpour, and we were stuck on the side of Highway 54. I called my father who recommended that we call Bob's Towing- he had used them before and had a very good experience. Bob's arrived on the scene so quickly after I had called them. The driver was extremely professional and kind! He towed the car/drove us both back to their lot. The owner asked about the issues the car was having, and even had his friend Keith (who is a mechanic) diagnose the problem. (It ended up being an issue with the serpentine belt). Altogether, I am blown away by the amazing experience that my friend and I had with Bob's Towing! I highly recommend everyone use them!

My son was visiting a friend that lives at Lark Chapel Hill and despite stating "Limited guest…read moreparking is also available at no charge." on their website, his car was towed. Apparently you have to fill out a permit to park there and if not done correctly, your car will be towed by a sleezy, predatory towing company called Bob's Towing. Now, he has to pay $300 because he parked at a dump on a Friday night of a long holiday weekend and didn't fill out a form correctly. The fact that they market free parking while maintaining a system that guarantees towing penalties for minor paperwork errors is either incompetent or intentional. Either way, it's indefensible and Bob's Towing is complicit in this scam as well. Bob's Towing is a ruthless operation that exploits minor parking violations and bureaucratic errors to extract hundreds of dollars from unsuspecting college students--they deserve far less than one star, but unfortunately that's the minimum rating available.
