My car wouldn't start this morning so I had call a towing truck service. My least favorite thing to do but gotta do what you gotta do. I was able to set up a time through a call and the person showed up on time. A shout out to Mike for being a good sport and awesome person. Fantastic communication before loading my car. My car was loaded within 20-25 minutes and to the shop it went. I was able to ride with Mike to the shop of my choice. He dropped me off along with the car and road off into the sunset. A few minutes later, I received a call for payment . A simple check out process! I went out about 12-13 miles which cost me $80. Not bad at all! I've spent more money before. One of the Lee drivers almost ran me off the road about noon today (4/29/24) as I was headed into Durham. I had my left turn signal on and was changing lanes to head to downtown Durham off of 885, and Lee driver suddenly came between me and the car in the far left hand lane, out of nowhere. If I hadn't been watching, he would've run right into the rear of my car. Then they passed, honked crazily, and swerved right in front of me so he could get to 85N. My brand new car(less 10m)battery died on me, I was all upset and crying when I realized I would have to get a tow truck to get my car to my mechanic who was closed on weekends. I called my neighbor to give me a jump well he drives an older vehicle and the battery wasn't strong enough. when I seen the lee towing truck pull I was somewhat happy, then jumps out this gentleman who proceeded to tell me about my car and explained how the batteries are not long lived and assured me it was just needed a battery most likely but he would follow me to my mechanic shop to make sure i get there safely(after he jump my car) he was so helpful and kind and gave me some great pointers about battery care and my car as a whole. Had an unexpected flat tire on I-40. Found out that my auto club membership was unknowingly inactive so had to scramble to find someone to change my tire. The first place I called was Lee's. The young lady who answered the phone was nice, quoted me a price and told me an approximate ETA. Robbie was dispatched. He called me a few times to make contact and get my location. EXTREMELY nice, SUPER helpful and the price wasn't bad. He even followed me up the interstate to make sure everything was okay. I told the people that I work with how great Lee's Towing is. These folks saved the day for me! I was picking my son up from camp and my car wouldn't start. Tried to charge the battery and it wouldn't take so we called them to tow it 1 hour home. When the guy showed up he asked what was wrong and offered to try again to charge the battery. It worked! He was charging from his truck versus a handheld charger and he said that made the difference. What a relief! He saved me time, money and a big headache. My car stalled out a second time in one week, only this time, I couldn't get the engine to turn again to poke my way to a mechanic. Stranded in a parking lot, I called AAA. From the time I finished my call to the time I was picked up, it was an hour (though I was quoted 30 minutes). I do think the bulk of my wait was probably AAA's fault and not Lee's. He phoned as he was en route for us, and arrived within fifteen minutes of that call. Expertly hitched up my car. Then we saddled in beside him, and he towed the car the short 1.5 miles to a shop. Called Lee's, right across the street from my preferred auto repair shop. I was recommended to Lee's by my car dealership. They helped me diagnose the problem of my car not starting & went over pricing all while on the phone. The tow truck was out to my Apartment in 10mins. Paul was friendly and helped further with potential problems of my car just on his knowledge of vehicles. What he was diagnosing was on par with what the dealership was saying so he knew what he was talking about. Luckily we were going in the same direction. He realized my car would potentially stop on me and followed behind. Sure enough my car went out on the freeway, but I was able to make it off the next exit and onto the exit ramp. Rob was awesome! My truck's alternator failed leaving a garage in downtown Durham and Rob with Lee's Towing came out within 15 minutes and towed me to a local garage for fixing. I am from Charlotte and needed to get back so he recommended a place that was great and open on Saturday. He also took us to a nearby hotel so we wouldn't be stranded in Durham. On our way back to Raleigh from Hillsborough, my car got a horrible flat tire on the side of 85. We were down to the rim and on a hill. The jack that came with the car just was not cutting it and kept slipping. I ended up just googling towing companies and luckily saw Lee's. They sent out a guy almost immediately at 10:00 at night. I believe his last name was Funes. He took care of the car quickly and professionally. I could not have asked for a better experience. What really sealed the deal for me was when he followed us for a few miles to make sure that everything was working correctly and we didn't have any issues. Last Saturday at 10:00pm, I had a tire blow out while driving on the highway and needed the spare to be put on the car. After calling no fewer than 8 other, companies I found that most were willing to come tow the vehicle but would not offer any type of roadside assistance (the others informed me that they were not working that late, would come in an hour or were on vacation). I finally got in touch with Lee's, after an hour of being stuck. Austin said he would be happy to come and would arrive in about 20 minutes. He got there in 10 and changed the tire quickly. He was very personable and pleasant to interact with, which was refreshing given my level of aggravation under the circumstances. I never thought my first Yelp review would be for a towing company, but these guys are amazing. Ignoring the pending snowstorm, I ventured out in my not-for-winter car and promptly got stuck. I called Lee's 24 Hour Towing, and the dispatcher--who by then had probably fielded dozens of calls from idiots like me--was incredibly polite and helpful. He couldn't give me an exact ETA since the roads and traffic were so bad, but said the driver would call when he was on his way. The drivers (who turned out to be Lee and his son, Robby) got there faster than I thought possible and had my car hooked up in 5 minutes flat. They were both extremely nice and very professional. Despite the heavy snow, the horrible road conditions, and the traffic, Lee expertly navigated me and my car safely home. The pricing was very reasonable and the service was exceptional. I've, unfortunately, had to use Lee's 4 times in the past couple of months-- 1 flat tire and 3 breakdowns-- but each time my experience and their customer service has been absolutely satisfying. I am a AAA member, and got connected to Lee's through that service. All of the employees of Lee's that I have interacted with have been extremely helpful and kind. Each time they have arrived in an understandable amount of time, 30-50min., and took care of my problem in less than 5 minutes each time (no joke!). I have been given roadside assistance by an employee named Rob multiple times who particularly went out of his way each time to make sure my car and myself got to the places we needed to go! My car skidded off the road and police called Lee's towing. This happened on Friday evening 5.00 pm and we called the garage immediately to get out car. Lee's towing person said that they are closed at 5.00pm Friday evening and asked to call back next day (Saturday) to see if they can release the vehicle. When I called early next morning, Lee's person responded that they don't have anyone to release the vehicle from garage as they are short handed (total scam, the garage is next door). When I went on Monday to pick my vehicle, they charged 160$ for towing (5miles) and charged additional $145 for storage charges. I thought as if I was being ripped off & was being scammed. I contacted them on Friday evening (5.00pm) and also Saturday morning. Lee's people were there in office and the garage is next door, but they still refused to let my vehicle out to me. My Car was towed on Friday evening, still I was charged full Friday storage charge!! The same thing for following Monday, they charged full day storage charges. These guys are ripoffs, unethical and from beginning they wanted not let my vehicle out over weekend, so that they can charge me 4 days storage. I highly recommend people to be very careful when dealing with these ripoffs.... read more

Lee's did their job just fine, and they were reasonably timely (only 10 min late on agreed time). But the man on the phone was a little short with me, and wanted me to drive out to the vehicle and call him again instead of just meeting him there at a specified time. Not great customer care. Then the trucker overcharged me. They charge $85 + $4/mile, and he took the 14 mile route instead of the direct 8 mile route. He said he can't take a route with stoplights, which I know is not true since I just had it towed through a stoplight-heavy route. Overall, completely adequate service with unpleasant personal interactions and a slight ($30) overcharge. **If you go with Lee's, calculate the miles to be towed and require they charge you only for your desired route route. Be prepared to call their bluff that they need to take major highways only.** read more

My car ignition went out, so I looked around and called these folks. They answered their phone right away and had a truck in less than an hour. Embarrassingly, while trying to roll my car back into a space at the dealer's lot, I lodged my car on the curb. Thankfully the driver thought to make sure my car was in the right spot before heading off. He helped me hoist my car off the curb and into its space. My experience with Lee's Towing is only by happen-chance but it's about as good as I can think of. I was driving on I-85 west of Durham enroute from VA to SC in a moving truck when my truck began showing signs of apparent distress while going up inclines (it was slowing to about 35mph). I pulled over, put out hazard triangles, and began calling roadside assistance when a gentleman pulled over in a sedan and asked me what was wrong. I shared what happened, and he took a look at my truck, then told me that he owned owned a towing company in Durham and that the nearest Penske dealer was only a few miles down the road. After ensuring me I should be okay driving it a few miles, he called ahead to Penske to let them know to expect me, then followed me almost all the way to the shop to ensure I was okay. He even called me while driving behind me to make sure it was driving alright. When I asked him for his name, he said it was Lee and that his company was called Lee's Towing. After finding the Penske dealer and getting a fuel filter changed within 20 minutes, I was back on the road (and ultimately still made it to my destination on time). I received a call about 30 minutes later, and it was...you guessed it...the owner calling to follow up and make sure I had been properly taken care of. This was clearly not something he ever had to do, especially when there was no money in it for him. I was amazed at his genuine humanity towards a perfect stranger like myself. He went above and beyond anything someone in my situation would've reasonably expected to receive from a passerby. If he and his company treat their customers anything like they treated me - which I have every reason to expect - then I recommend them without hesitation. Your character comes through when someone is in need and there isn't really much of anything in it for you to help them, but you do it anyway. read more
