I came into Taku Sushi looking for lunch. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted and seated. The food quality here is around average. The sushi rice was too bland, and the miso soup contained a light amount of miso. However, the katsu was perfectly fried, with the breading giving a light crisp. Because I hadn't had breakfast, I ordered extra food. But to my pleasant surprise, I bit off more than I could chew; the portion sizes were quite generous, and I ended up taking extra food home in a to-go box. The patrons seated next to me also needed a to-go box. Overall, Taku Sushi offers large quantities of average quality food. This is a great place to eat if you're looking for large portions.

The service is great. I ordered miso soup, chicken karaage, and a magic roll. The miso was excellent. The chicken karaage was decent and my sushi was fine. The prices are about average here. The inside is clean and has indoor seating and outdoor. A lovely place in town for sushi.

Friendly staff, fast service, and delicious food! The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the ramen had a rich broth and great portion size. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for fresh sushi!

The food was very good had the tempura the only disappointment was the shrimp was not tempura, almost like it was a frozen shrimp that was fried. The service was decent but there is a definite sewer smell that hits you when you walk in the door that is very offensive. The decor is very cute and the place seems clean but they have some sort of drain issue. I'm hoping when I return the smell will be gone because I really want to try the sushi.

Some of the best sushi we've had, hands down. The quality of their fish is not comparable to what other places bring in. Their weekly specials are a perfect opportunity to try new types of fish and the opportunity to have super fresh bites. Service was quick and friendly, and our waitress was more than happy to make some recommendations. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I have been waiting for this place to open up for what seemed like forever lol. The service was great and the food was amazing. We sat by the sushi bar so we were able to see all the freshly displayed fresh fish that is flown fresh weekly from Japan. Which I totally believe because it tasted like it was! Even though it was packed, we got our food pretty fast for a sushi place. I ordered from their new Omakase menu, which was amazing because in a way I was able to sample many of their items on the menu. The sushi chef would come around to us from behind the bar to present each dish and tell us what they were. Each dish presentation was so beautifully done too that it was breathtaking. We are so happy that there is another restaurant close to our house and it's a sushi place!

Came with a friends for dinner on a Sunday evening…read more It was busier than expected with most tables filled. The restaurant is open with a market like feel and a constant hustle and bustle. You order off the menu with an erasable pen which is very smart. Many Japanese restaurants (especially when ordering sashimi, nigiri, rolls) use a ton of paper for their orders. We did have a waitress but the staff helps one another running drinks and food. The food was very good, fresh and I'd definitely go back. My suggestions would be bringing the dishes out over time. We received almost everything at once and the table was very full. The bathrooms are part of Stanley and are fine. They are usually clean. The parking is shared with all the Stanley Marketplace so it depends on time/day as to how easy or hard it is to find a space.

I kept it light and fresh with the house salad, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeños, salmon sashimi, and ebi nigiri. Everything came out super fast and tasted incredibly fresh. The yellowtail had the perfect kick, but the ebi nigiri was the real star for me--so good. Such a cute little spot for a casual date or a food hall crawl. We also grabbed mochi to go and it was the perfect sweet ending. Already planning my next visit because I definitely want to try more of the menu.

We arrived at 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening to full restaurant which was a great sign. You also want to see your sushi bar moving a lot of product so you know their seafood will be fresh. Lucky for us there were two seats at the bar open so we were seated right away. We started off the meal with of course some Sapporo and premium sake along with a tempura app. I've not found great tempura in the area and was pleasantly surprised with their preparation. We then ordered a Chirashi bowl (wife) and assorted nigiri for myself. The chirashi was okay, decent but not anything amazing. Some of the fish cuts were a little odd like they were the trimmings from the end of the filet. My nigiri was solid and I appreciate the fish to rice ratio was perfect as lot of other places make their sushi with way too much rice to stretch the dish. The amaebi or sweet shrimp was fresh and heads were nicely fried and tasty though I wish they fried it a minute longer. Overall a solid sushi bar tucked away from the main road but definitely worth a visit!

I am so glad we did because this place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Once we were inside we were greeted by friendly staff and seated, cold glasses of water came alongside the menus. We decided on some sushi, a plate of Shrimp Yakisoba, and Kobe Beef Fried Rice. The fried rice was so delicious. The best I've had in a long time, the last time I had fried rice this good was when my friend's Japanese grandmother made it for us. That was over 15 years ago. I am also a big fan of Yakisoba, and this Yakisoba was also one of the best I've had in a long time. The sushi was excellent too. The inside is decorated with a nice modern feel, and it's clean and tidy. I love the feel in here. People are just talking, eating, it feels like a true neighborhood joint where there's regulars. I have a feeling I am going to become a regular here too.

We were seated fairly quick and was given water cups fast. We got a quick rundown of the menu, however we did have a newer server. We thought she did great as she constantly checked in on us and made sure that we were doing well. The takoyaki was a bit too doughy for my liking, but it was okay. The gyoza are on the other hand was absolutely perfect and needed no additional sauce except the one that came on it. When the black garlic Ramen came to the table, it had a slight flavor, but I would say it was pretty plain. We ended up asking for some of the sauce that was on the Gyoza for the soup base. When we added that to the soup base, it became 1000 times better. The noodles were cooked fairly well, but I would just say the broth needed a bit more flavor. Overall, it was a nice spot and we may be back to try other things.
