The food truck employee greeted us warmly, and offered to answer any questions, which helped, as we are prone to having questions. She got, "The Shines - double 4oz gourmet brisket-blend patties, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, house sauce, on toasted bun", and a side of fries with just a bit of cajun seasoning. She wasn't sure how spicy she could handle, so they were kind enough to reduce the seasoning just in case, although they assured us it wasn't that spicy. It wasn't spicy, although by the very end of the basket of fries there was a little heat building up in our mouths; just right. The burger was great, and the brisket-blend patty really did have a lot of flavor! It was decently sized and more than adequate to fill her up. I also saw they offer gluten-free buns, which I really appreciate, and next time i'm there, I will try a whole one myself. I did pick at the fries, which were good, although I like a little more bite in my fries; these were more of a fluffy, airy, crunch type of fries, but they sure were tasty with some ketchup. My girlfriend said the grilled onions were cooked just right, the patty was great, and the cheese, while average, did its job. Being a food truck, it always nice to be able to eat outdoors and enjoy the weather. Great truck, and it pleased my somewhat-picky-of-an-eater girlfriend, so that's about the highest review I can give!

Overall: 4.2/5 [takeout]…read more We tried their smash burger when they were set up at Klyde Warren Park. They made everything to order and since there was no line, we got our food in under 5 minutes. We got The Shines ($15) + Bacon ($2.50) which comes with double 4 oz brisket blended patties, American cheese, onions, pickles, and house sauce on toasted buns. The patties were some of the thinnest and crispiest we have had. The burger was delicious and different, but it wasn't juicy like your typical smash burger. They were also really nice and gave us some seasoned fries to try. They were crispy and good but pretty heavy so we were done after a few pieces and wouldn't have been able to finish a full portion.

No soggy fries or anything! Oh, I almost demolished the perfectly seasoned fries on the way home. Lololol My husband said one of the best burgers around, he loved how cheesy it was. I loved my wings, and the crunch was superb. We shared the nachos and, shocker, we loved that as well. Honestly, keep this place in business because we will definitely be back to do the same!

Master of disguise. That is how best to describe JJ's Taco shop. This is a genuinely great Mexican…read morefood stop that should be a brick and mortar location, disguised as mall food. I swear I can think of a few places that are sit down Mexican restaurants, or that charge you as such, that are not even in the same ballpark as JJ's. Nothing is less than fresh. The flavors are layered into all the ingredients. The picture you have in your mind of how you want the order come out to you comes nowhere close to the actual final product. They exceed your expectations. Super, super fast service, yet the flavor is as if it took forever to get them to that level. The meat is tender. Not tough beef, but simmer, delicate, tender, juicy Beef Asada. The onions are sauteed and add depth. We had Quesadillas and Loaded fries. Got it home, the food was still piping hot. The tortilla shell was buttery, crisp, just really packed full of meat, cheese, onions, goodness you'd expect at a much higher price point, at a sit down Mexican restaurant. I had one issue. I am 1 pound from 200, Covid-19 gains, and the portions are generous and are not going to help with my trying to cut back and lose the extra 5 I gained the last year or so. Oozing with cheese, stacked with meat. Thanks JJ's. You are not helping me lose weight. So whatever you think about mall food, toss it out, rethink it all. Imagine white linen on that mall table. Imagine a wait staff doting on you if you need too because this food is on par with that experience. Even valet park your taste buds here if you must. Tip generously because you did not pay what this food is worth at the register. You didn't, trust me. The amount of meals and portions I got would have cost no less than 25% more plus tips at a couple of other spots close by. This is why I felt okay tipping generously. I was still way ahead. Till next time. Stay safe, get your vaxx, and booster, if not for you, for someone you love. Don't be that story of someone that said they should have. We need you alive and Yelping. We need you enjoying good food, great experiences, and the love of your family. Take care.

I usually order through Uber Eats because it's a pretty good distance from me, but over the last six months to a year, something has drastically changed. The quality of the chicken is completely off. The fries aren't the same either. The ranch is still on point, so I'll give them that. Last night I ordered a six piece, and I could barely chew the chicken. It wasn't tender or juicy. It was tough, rubbery, and felt like I was chewing something I couldn't even break down. Some of the skin had a weird slippery, almost plastic-like texture that I couldn't bite through. It honestly didn't taste like real chicken, and it definitely didn't taste like the chicken I used to get from Gabe's. To make matters worse, I ordered a Coke that arrived warm. Not cool, not room temperature, but warm enough that it clearly hadn't been refrigerated. Food is too expensive these days to be playing with people's meals. I don't know if they changed chicken vendors, changed suppliers, or changed the way they prepare it, but something is different, and not in a good way. I'm genuinely disappointed because this used to be one of my favorite spots.
