It's more of a self serve place. Egg rolls are made to order and they have some other items that you can order. So please to ask them about it. They have an awesome soft serve ice cream machine. The flavor is vanilla and super delicious. Usually people know about this place by word of mouth or if you're a Santa Clara resident! For super strict vegetarians keep in mind that they don't have a separate grill for cooking vegetables but they might accommodate and cook it in their kitchen on a separate skillet. You might want to call and ask before you go. Enjoy!

She kept saying 2 plates, but her English was very difficult to understand, however she was super sweet and nice. At the end we just did what other people were doing. Okay so the way it works if it's to go order, you can get 1 bowl for meat and veggies and another for noodles. On the other side you add sauces, then ending with cooks cooking it. You do have to tell them if you taking to go. Price if it's to go you pay by weight so be careful with noodles if you don't want pay that much. It's close to $16/lb. Actually not that bad for a plate. The place has decent amounts of tables and chairs and doesn't feel too crowded. Although place does need some updating decor or something just looks very old inside. Anyhow, those small places are the places have the best foods Overall, definitely come back I ended up talking to the owner he was very attentive and friendly. He also apologized for not being at the front when we arrived to actually walk us through process.

My taste buds loved it! What's really great is that if you mix the broths together.. you have your own unique broth! Perfection! - The veggies and rice/ noodles come with the meat and broth that you order! Veggies come with cabbage, spinach, squash, and carrots, and tofu. Their menu has additional add ons! I typically go for the fish balls, tofu, and quail eggs! I didn't think it would be a large amount but it sure was! -THE MEAT!! OH! you can tell the quality of this meat is up there! it's not underwhelming thin- in fact you taste that meaty fatty flavor! I go for the Toro belly and the kobe beef! I have yet to come back and try other meats tho. And i definitely will be back ;) - Drink vibes? oooh i love me some Yuzu! The server even mentioned a Yuzumosa which I will definitely come back again for - The service was really friendly and attended to us throughout our lunch/ dinner. Customer service is A1! Overall, despite this place not being AYCE- this will fill you up! My partner and coworker got 2 large size meat and it rounded to a total of $85. Not too shabby, or I should say- "It's Shabu Time!"

Fortunately there was a gentleman who'd been there often and gave me a couple suggestions. I got the salmon sandwich and it was SOO good! Juicy and crunchy and flavorful. And all for a very decent price. I'll have to try bulgogi roll next time. FYI, there's no tables inside, just a counter to it's primarily to go.

Fast forward years later and now I'm on the East Bay side and Rice Junky is no longer a memory of the past. Located in a small plaza, parking can be somewhat tough since the lot is small and the laundromat gets plenty of foot traffic, but it's free. The inside is decently sized although there's no space for you to sit and enjoy your food inside and outside. There's a tablet at the register for you to submit your order. I opted for their ham and cheese isaac toast and an egg salad sandwich. I appreciate the food being made fresh and the workers were efficient, but the isaac toast had one slice of ham and A LOT of cabbage, both fried in a puck and non-fried. The egg salad sandwich looked good, but didn't have much flavor to rave about. Overall, yes, the food is made fresh for you and it's a decent option to have if you're in the area, but it wouldn't be my first pick for a quick meal.
