Known for their fluffy soufflé Japanese style pancakes, this cozy little cafe is located in a small…read morestrip mall in Santa Clara. It looks like they took some feedback and offer many savory options such as ramen, bulgogi beef, fries, gyoza, etc. I don't know how that pairs well with the pancakes (a simple bacon, sausage, etc would've been easier but not my monkey not my circus). Note that because pancakes are made to order-it takes about 20 minutes to prepare. I ordered the original out of the 7 other options available (ube, Nutella, custard, etc.) and found it delicious. My friend ordered the matcha and seemed to enjoy it. As they are a cafe, they also offer a variety of drinks. The atmosphere is very cutesy, very demure-very pink. A great place to take the girls or those who identify as such to.

Hanabusa cafe is located in a small plaza, but parking wasn't hard, maybe because I went on a weekday. Cafe decor is cute and feminine (baby pink and white color scheme). They have signs everywhere warning that pancakes take 25 minutes to make, which I found to be fairly accurate, so do be warned! I ordered an original soufflé pancake, and a latte to drink while waiting for the pancake. The latte was only okay, but was good to have something to drink while waiting since it takes so long. The pancakes were pretty yummy. Not as good as other soufflé pancakes I've had, but good. The whipped cream that came along with it was also good, but not amazing. I do wish there was some sort of syrup served alongside it. I wasn't a huge fan of the plate arrangement, maybe a little too cutesy for me? Service is not really interactive or personal. They take your order at the counter, and you go pick it up when it's ready. Overall, this cafe was only okay for me. This is one of those instances where I'll reiterate that my rating is likely because of my personal preferences! If you like a cutesy cafe, and looking for soufflé pancakes, I'd recommend!

Randomly came here for brunch during a Friday morning and was pleasantly surprised with service,…read moreambiance, and portions of the plates. Got seated very promptly and my waitress helped me log onto their free wifi to catch up on some work! I ordered the one of the combo plates (eggs, hash browns, sausage, and blueberry pancakes) and a side of green tea with honey and lemon. Very nice restaurant interior, fresh ingredients, and super accommodating staff. Will def be returning.

I just spent three days in the ER eating hospital food, and this was the first place I wanted to go for a good breakfast. It was the meal I'd been looking forward to the whole time. We came in after the lunch rush, and the restaurant had plenty of open seats. Even so, service was slow and we had to ask for everything. Then the manager and owner asked us to move tables because that's where they like to hold their meetings. We declined, but being asked at all, with so many other tables available, was disappointing. After the week I'd had, I wanted to feel welcome at a place I love, and I didn't. I hope this was just an off day, because the food has earned my loyalty over the years. But guests who are already seated and enjoying a meal shouldn't be asked to give up their table for a staff meeting, especially when there are plenty of other places to meet.

The menu is pretty eclectic, which I loved! We ordered the Chicken & Croffle (a croissant waffle), the Omurice Fried Rice, a Matcha Latte, and a Madagascar Vanilla Latte. The food was good! The chicken and croffle were delicious, and we really enjoyed the fried rice too. The matcha latte was really good, but the Madagascar vanilla latte was just okay. Nothing bad, just not anything special. Service was very good! Even though it was fairly busy, everything came out quickly, and the staff was great. Overall, I really enjoyed this place! Between the beautiful atmosphere, unique menu, and good food, I would absolutely come back!

VALUE Prices were pricey but worth it, and portions were generous. STANDOUT DETAIL What stood out most to me was the localized area to the side of flowers and dry flower bouquets. Overall, I'd recommend GIWA, especially if you're looking for cute aesthetic restaurant.

But aside from that, Bill's is a great place to come for a hearty breakfast and great service! We enjoyed big portions with our out of town guests today and were not disappointed! There is ample seating if you go early on the weekends (by 9:30 am would be my suggestion!). There's even outdoor seating but in a covered area. There are several Bill's in the area and we've been to two of them so far - both good! We look forward to visiting more locations!

From the moment we walked in, we were met with hostile and unprofessional behavior. One of the waitresses, CeCe, was staring us down meanly and trying to provoke us for no reason. The issues only got worse from there: Unsafe Drinks: We ordered orange juices, but they had a strange burn when we took a sip, and my son noticed something unidentified floating in his glass. We couldn't drink them. Undercooked & Cold Food: The food came out suspiciously fast, and it was virtually inedible. The bacon was completely raw, the French toast was cold and unbaked inside, and the hash browns looked like plain mashed potatoes in the middle. It honestly felt like old leftover food. Bad Recovery: When we pointed out the raw bacon and asked for sausages instead, they brought out freezing cold sausages. At that point, we stopped eating completely and left the food on the table. Bizarre Pricing: The bill should have been cleared given the unconsumed food, but we were overcharged for basic items--including $14 for the orange juices we couldn't drink and $7 for two eggs. Even after taking one breakfast off, we ended up paying $34 for food that went straight into the trash outside. There seems to be a total lack of management and service standards at this establishment. Save your money and skip Bill's Cafe altogether. If you want a great breakfast spot nearby, check out Mils Cafe in Milpitas instead.
