Smetz's Tire came up and I gave them a call and was informed that early afternoons would be the best time of day for walk ins. That turned out to accurate info, as the work on our vehicle was able to done right away -- Not having to wait was much appreciated, BUT, what really impressed me was that the "reminder" sticker placed on my front window, once the work was completed, indicated the next recommended oil change was listed at a 7500 mile interval. That is the number that our car manufacturer recommends, but my previous quick oil change location had always recommended it be changed at 3500 miles. I raised concerns about that number with employees of that establishment, but was given some B.S. corporate answer -- So if you are looking for GREAT and honest car service, I suggest you check out Smet'z, in Ashland (OH).

They replaced an outer tie rod on my car which failed in 1700 miles and when i called them to work out a plan his answer was "i doubt that" A 3rd party Mechanic looked at my car and told me to take it back to get my money back. When confronted with bad work their response is not to make it right but try to find a way to make it your fault. I spent $3000 here and there are issues with every part of the repair. The transmission work they did is also failing. If you have an issue with their shoddy work their solution is to hang up on you b/c business is good. I was very disappointed that it took almost 3 months for the repair. After having to press him to get the job done and being told multiple times it would be done by the end of the week but not getting done for a few more weeks. Finally I get the truck back and get home to see diesel fuel was leaking from underneath the truck. We had to tow it to a different mechanic because we were from out of town. Dakota stated he would pay half of the new bill and I have called him multiple times and he has not covered half of the bill as he said he would. My business took a hit because of the dishonesty and after everything Dakota would not even make it right for us. If he didn't have the staff or time he could have just told us that up front and we would have taken the truck somewhere else. Instead he was not straight with us and my business suffered because of this. I will not be bringing vehicles back here ever.
