Smetz's Tire came up and I gave them a call and was informed that early afternoons would be the best time of day for walk ins. That turned out to accurate info, as the work on our vehicle was able to done right away -- Not having to wait was much appreciated, BUT, what really impressed me was that the "reminder" sticker placed on my front window, once the work was completed, indicated the next recommended oil change was listed at a 7500 mile interval. That is the number that our car manufacturer recommends, but my previous quick oil change location had always recommended it be changed at 3500 miles. I raised concerns about that number with employees of that establishment, but was given some B.S. corporate answer -- So if you are looking for GREAT and honest car service, I suggest you check out Smet'z, in Ashland (OH).

I am leaving negative reviews on any platform I can, because they need to make this right. Maybe some negative publicity will wake them up. I took my car in for new rack and pinion in power steering system. Also got new brakes in the process. Anyway, immediately upon picking it up after new rack and pinion, power steering failed a mile down the road. They took it back in and looked at it, replaced the pump. I had to leave it with them while I left for a business trip because they had to keep it overnight to replace the pump, waiting for a part to come in. Immediately upon my return, the vehicle had loud exhaust noise upon pickup. The exhaust was fine when I took it in, and I have documentation from them to prove such (see attached). I called them to schedule an appointment to look at the new exhaust issue. Upon taking it in today, 11/3/23, I showed them the paperwork where exhaust was fine when I dropped it off. When I showed the manager the paperwork and explained that something seemed to be amiss, she immediately became angry and said I was accusing her of purposely damaging my exhaust. Ultimately, words were exchanged, and she refused to look at it. I now have corporate involved waiting for a resolution to this issue. Bottom line, I've taken it in twice, and twice left with a car in worse shape. They are not taking accountability. An exhaust noise does not just magically appear when there was no noise prior or issue upon arrival to the shop. Mr. Tire, you've left me without a car several times. I've had to take time off from work, rearrange my schedule, and loan vehicles to make it to work when I couldn't be off.

Long story short I was met with rudeness as soon as they answered an told me I would have to pay again for them to check their work !! Just prior to my husband's passing, he noticed a tire pressure warning light but he was unable to fix it or get to Fuerst for help. Today I drove our car for the first time since my husband died. I drove to Fuerst and with my cane hobbled to the front door to find that it was closed. As I got into my car to leave, Mike came out the front door to ask what kind of help I needed. I was in tears due to circumstances, apologized and explained. Mike offered condolences and even though they were closed, he told me to pull up and he would check my tires. Mike was so gracious, patient and kind. He properly inflated all 4 tires and said if the warning light returns to come back on Monday. As a family owned business, Fuerst Automotive continues to prove how much it values its customers and cares about the community. Mike is a prime example of that excellence. I don't know of many businesses that would've reached out when closed to help someone during a difficult time. I wish I could give Fuerst 10 stars because they deserve it.
