Food 3/5 Service 2/5 Ambiance 4/5 We were hungry driving to North Cascades NP and decided to stop at this Indian place, the person looked at his watch and then directed us to sit. We are vegetarian and the buffet had more meat options so decided to order from the menu. The food was not bad but if was not great either. Maybe catering to the crowd in Yakima. Little oily for my taste but we enjoyed our break. The manager was busy on the phone but gave us take out boxes when requested.

Good customer service, I didn't have to wait long for my doordash carry out. They have a clean and we'll organized store. Plenty of seating and plenty of parking too.

The Taj Palace is a hidden gem!! We visit here all the time and the food is consistently delicious! Everything is fresh, even at the plentiful buffet. The service is prompt and the main server has a wickedly funny sense of humor. The ambiance is comfortable and feels of northern India.

    Lunch buffet - vegan options

Yakima is not great for vegan options, so when I discovered this place had some, I figured I'd try them out. They have a daily lunch buffet (~$15 after tax) -- 2 of the mains are vegan (a generic veggie curry and an aloo mutter), plus a cucumber/tomato/green pepper salad, potato pakoras, and rice. The quality wasn't great: both curries were oily, quite salty, and not very dynamic flavour-wise. But I was full for not much money. Don't expect a tantalizing culinary experience here, but for what it is, it's a decen option.

I went back-and-forth on whether or not this place was a 4 or a 5 for quite a while. Ultimately, we figured it was a five because it's a place we've started ordering takeout from as well as stopping in to dine at. We have not experience the recent expansion into pizza, but we know they do a great job with Indian food! The Decour inside feels very traditional and definitely sets the atmosphere up nicely. There's plenty of seating at either tables or booths and during the lunch hour they have, I've heard, quite the buffet. We've only been here for dinner, and each time it's been very good. They have plenty of excellent traditional dishes like chicken tikka masala, Butter chicken or any of the myriad of curries available. The mango curry has become a personal favorite of ours! It's as good as anything we tried anywhere else. Our newest go to dish, that we previously haven't seen anywhere else, is the saffron gosht "Insert meat/cheese here". It pretty quickly has become one of my favorite things! We're not used to having saffron in anything other than pay so was nice to see it in a creamy sauce accompanying goat, cheese or chicken. It's the sort of sauce that you get some extra naan for so you can make sure you don't leave any of it behind. Our kids have also taken a liking to it as the last time we had it they were going at the remains with a spoon. The naan options here are also plentiful. Everything from the standard originals, garlic or cheese, down to ones that have a variety of spices, meats and fruit pieces in them. You really can't go wrong! They're good enough, that you should probably order an extra one because, seriously, it's only four bucks...and it will probably bring you more than four dollars in happiness! Prices are standard and our experience with the service has been very good. It's nice to have a really good Indian food spot in town!

Love Taj. Great food. Spices are amazing and I wasn't a fan of Indian food until I started going there.

Easy to order and the food was EXCELLENT. I can only speak of the takeout experience but, for a frequent traveler, these folks have it down.

This was actually our first time *ever* going to a bar, and our visit here completely ruined the experience for us. After about 10-15 minutes, a staff member asked to check our ID's. My partner attempted to use a digital version of his ID, and the staff member (in an extremely rude tone) said that he had to leave if he couldn't provide proper ID. Totally get that. He tells her that he'll go to his car to get his physical ID, and immediately gets up after their conversation ends. Another 15 minutes rolls around, and the same staff member has came to our table plenty of times. My partner has his ID out to show her. Never comes around until someone from our party gets up to complain about the slow service, and mentions that my partner and I are also still waiting. The staff member tells the person from our party that my partner supposedly left because he couldn't provide an ID. They mention that he only left to retreive his ID from the car, which was communicated to the staff member earlier. A few minutes later, this staff member comes storming up to my partner and begins YELLING and POINTING HER FINGER in his face. She asks him what his deal is, exclaiming that he didn't have his ID, etc. My partner tries to explain that he got it from his car, but she wouldn't even let us get a word in. After a few minutes of her just completely berating us in front of our ENTIRE party and bar, he asks if everything is okay now that he has his physical ID. The staff member begins quizzing him, not believing that it's actually his, and asks him to verify his name and birthdate. Obviously he passed, and she gives him back the ID. Right after, she turns to me and yells, "What do you want?!" I was completely taken aback, not realizing that she was trying to take my drink order. We place our order and attempt to enjoy the rest of the night, but the staff member wouldn't stop bothering us about Washington State laws. I swear she came over 5 times, just completely berating us and making us feel insanely uncomfortable. If you read this review and think, well duh. You need an ID to get into a bar. Let me once again clarify that it was our first time *ever* visiting a bar. I completely understand that this staff member was trying to protect herself and the business from serving alcohol to underage individuals, but the treatment we faced was out of line. There was no reason for her to be screaming at us, pointing her finger in my partner's face, or consistently bothering us about laws throughout the rest of our visit. It could've been resolved in a much better manner. Ultimately, we won't be returning to the Lotus Room, which totally sucks because we love their whole concept of drinks and karaoke. In fact, we probably won't feel comfortable in the bar scene for a while. My one recommendation for the Lotus Room is that if you're going to scream in customer's faces, get someone to check ID's at the door.
