If you really think about it the Dominican food has taken over the Bx. I searched, and found this place. The moment you step in you are greeted with the warmest blessings. The 2 beautiful people that worked there made our time there so memorable. The food was out of this world let me tell you. Also, I will say it is AFFORDABLE. portion size was huge and the place was so CLEAN. Food: Pernil: 10/10 flavorful and tender Yellow (arroz con gandules) and Black rice with the beans: 10/10 both were good and couldn't even decide which one was better Pulpo 9/10 : fresh and tangy, cut into small pieces so you can top it on your rice Alcapurrias: 8/10 great and made differently then what I'm used to but it was sooo good I'd come again for this alone Juices: Ask them to try the juices and they will let you. We tried it all. Came home with passion fruit (parcha) and guyaba (guanabana) Delicious 10/10 It was so fresh and they don't add too much ice so you get all the juice taste. All in all I'm coming here from now on. A true BX staple for the community and a true essence of the Bori pride resides here. If you miss PR, come here.

No one was at the register to take my order. The owners and employees were scrambly behind the counter and kitchen. Hardly no food was on display. The chicken was tender and delicious, and the pernil was flavorful, juicy, and tasted fresh. You really can't go wrong with pernil at a good Puerto Rican restaurant--it's one of those dishes that never disappoints when it's done right. Unfortunately, the second visit was a completely different experience. The food was much too greasy, and it tasted as though it had been cooked in old oil. By the third visit, the food just didn't have the same flavor or quality as it did the first time. Because of those inconsistent experiences, when my fiancé asked if I wanted to go back, I decided to pass. It's disappointing because our first visit was so good, but I need consistency to want to keep coming back.

The potato salad was smooth with some chunks of potatoes and a light crunch from the veggies. My favorite was the beans that pair perfectly with the rice and meat! All this for only $12!!! Wow! I highly recommend it. I also tried their beef empanadas. They were excellent. They're fried to order and homemade. There's a lot of filling and the beef inside is perfectly seasoned. The last time I had empanadas this good was at my Puerto Rican friend's house where his grandma made them! A close second was in Rincon, Puerto Rico. These are that good. They're a must try. This a lovely local neighborhood corner takeout restaurant. You can call ahead to order your food to avoid the the wait. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to answer any questions and provide recommendations. They have a tv in the waiting area and some drinks for sale. Inside is very clean and everything looks new and well organized. The food all homemade and delicious. Portions are very generous and a great value for what the charge. I'm looking forward to trying more of their food. I highly recommend it! It's definitely worth a trip to check it out. Support your local restaurants.

We had the oxtail, jerk chicken, peas and rice, and cabbage. Unfortunately, they were out of macaroni and cheese, but everything else was so good that it didn't even matter. The prices are fair for the portions and the convenience of having a 24-hour Jamaican spot available when you need it. That alone is a huge plus.
