I ordered from this place on the recommendation of a friend. This was an UBEREats order that arrived very timely. The menu seemed very good and traditional when I ordered. I ordered the beef and lamb lavash, and a side order of falafel with tahini. The falafel and tahini was burnt beyond recognition and dry, and the tahini was tasteless. The lava sandwich was packed well and looked appetizing and tasted OK but the meat itself was not moist and delicious. They have plentiful of tables for dine in.* See pictures) My go-to is the chicken shawrama plate with 6 toppings of your choice for veggies. And to top it off with a side of whipped garlic sauce. This location has a special place in my heart. 1988, I just came back from being stationed overseas and my girl friend (now my wife) says lets have Falafel for lunch. What's Falafel? Back then, the restaurant was called The Promised Land and it was the first time I took a bite of Falafel. Now, I was hooked! Strange that I never had nor heard of Falafel growing up in Brooklyn. Which takes me to 2024, Taim Mediterranean Kitchen in Plainview. Walking in just floods me with so many memories. The counterperson says if I join the Taim rewards I can save on my first order so download the app. 1988 doesn't have anything on 2024! Once I downloaded the app, I ordered something simple, The O.G. Falafel Pita made with Harissa (for a little kick) I sit down to a nice, clean location. Brightly colored tables and a jug with some delicious looking lemonade. (Too sugary for me in 2024) My meal is ready. I like the fact that there is both Hummus and Tahini sauce inside the pita. It was a nice sandwich, the pita texture to me was a little off. It was too thick compared to what I'm used to at other falafel joints. Just for a moment, I had lunch back in time. The service: 5 stars. The service was unbeatable though it was very slow at the cashier but Adam was very patient with each customer. Food The pickles: 5 stars. Inside there is a decent space for sitting, and a bright welcoming yellow! Staff is just as bright and work so hard! This is a new business, they are learning...be patient! They do an excellent job keeping everything perfect as expected (taste and picture) and I am addicted! I was invited for their soft opening, and attended the grand opening. They had to make a TON of food before they officially opened the doors, and they are definitely soldiers! That jasmine rice is perfection, a must try if you can...and the falafel was cooked perfectly! Everything was cooked with care, and has so much flavor. Definitely a customer for life! read more

They didn't leave anything out of our takeout order, the shawarma chicken was moist and flavorful and the portions were much better as well. I'm really happy there's a taim in Plainview. Their ingredients are fresh and flavorful and always lead to a satisfying meal. When taking out from taim, I prefer to make my own bowl. I alternate between the chicken and the cauliflower shawarma, which are both delicious. I get it on a base of half couscous and half supergreens. I load the bowl up with all the veggies (tomatoes, chickpeas, cucumbers), plus hummus and tzatziki. Perfection! I normally don't opt for a dressing, but I'm weird and usually don't put dressing on anything. Their pita and fries are also really good, especially if you dip them in the whipped garlic. One other tip: they have an app that allows you to order ahead, and they have a rewards program. read more

Taim finally opened up in Plainview! I've tried them a few times in the city but haven't been back in awhile. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Pita with their most popular toppings and tahini sauce. I added romaine lettuce and the staff was happy to oblige. The inside had plenty of seating and was a big open space. It was much nicer than your typical grab and go places. The only downside was the orange/yellow grease that drenched the bottom of my pita. I'm thinking it came from the chicken shawarma and the employee didn't drain the grease before scooping it into my pita. I would try their falafel next time as the grease made the bottom half of my pita soggy and messy to eat. read more

My wife picked up a bowl, and I ordered a lunch special type of meal. It was $10 and came with a pita sandwich and fries. The sandwich was really good, as was the bowl my wife ordered. She got the cauliflower and I thought that was great. My sandwich was with the chicken shawarma and that was very good. I love that you're able to customize each meal and add the toppings you enjoy most. Cucumbers and chickpeas are definitely my go-to on the pita. The garlic sauce is also awesome. The fries were a little soggy, but I drove home before eating so that was on me. We threw them in the toaster oven and they crisped right up. read more

Falafel balls seem almost deep fried (crispy on the outside and soft on the inside), tahini is tangy, hummus is creamy, eggplant is out of this world, and you can make your own bowl. Taim is a much needed diverse food experience in this area. I was waiting for them to open and rushed to their soft opening. We got a falafel bowl, golden eggplant bowl and a chicken shawarma bowl. The base was a bed of flavored jeera rice topped with the star ingredients and sides of pickled cabbage, cucumber in tahini and hummus with a side of soft and fluffy pita. The flavor combination was great and the portions were good enough to fill me up. The falafels were spot on, eggplant was so flavorful and the shawarma was delicious. We ordered for 4 however, only 1 person could eat dinner as the order was messed up ( we ordered the PITA 's on the side rather than sandwiched because most of the family has gluten allergies) The food smelled and looked delicious and my son (no gluten issue) said it was outstanding. That being said, every single order was wrong so our Sunday family dinner was ruined. From what I could see, when ordering online, you are able to add in specific special instructions, yet when the preparer reads the computer printout on their side , it doesn't actually print the details of the special instructions ( eg, PITA on the side and not as sandwich, sauce on the side, eg)- it just notes "Special Instructions" on the printout that was stapled to the outside of the delivery bag. I would like to try them again ( and hopefully get to actually eat the food this time), but it becomes an expensive experiment again , so I hope they can work out the delivery system. read more

So lucky to have this place close by! Being a famous staple in NYC, it's amazing we have one now in Long Island! Food is fresh and flavorful! You can make a bowl or a pita sandwich and it's so healthy. With all the toppings and sides to choose from, it's never a dull lunch or dinner. Had Taim today and not sure what happened. I got the bowl with the 2 bases being romaine and basmati rice. The rice was hard almost as if it was stale rice.. and the portion was very small. I placed my order at the cashier at 1:12 and received my food at 1:30. I'm sorry but 18 minutes is way to long for a person to be wasting during their lunch break to get food. Something with the food left my stomach upset for the rest of the day. Not sure if it was too much salt in the chicken shawarma or something with the tzatziki. I came here last year and wrote a bad review because I got the WRONG THING. This place is sooooo gooood definitely better than Cava.

Let me start off by saying the food here is actually pretty good. I particularly like the meatballs. The sauces are all delicious. My biggest problem with this place is it very disorganized. The first time I ate here, I picked up two bowls and when I got home, realized they made the entire order incorrectly (gave me falafel instead of chicken) for BOTH bowls. The second time I ate here I picked up one bowl. This time I checked right when I got in the car and it was wrong AGAIN. They gave me someone else's bowl. Not really worth it for the amount of disorganization. You could get many other more reliable lunch options. read more

I was very happy with my chicken pita. I keep it simple, pita, hummus, cucumber and tomato salad. Everything was fresh. My kid got the chicken kids meal and ate it which is big.
