Christine is amazing. She tailored my wedding dress. It came out perfectly and it was a quick turnaround. I love her attitude and professionalism. I look forward to having her tailor more of my clothing! Please note that she goes by appointment and she takes cash only. read more

This is my new go-to spot for alterations! Christine is a true professional, taking her time to be sure everything is marked properly and altered perfectly. And upon completion, the work is beautifully done! read more

Disappointing Experience with Dress Alterations I brought my mother of the groom dress here for basic hemming and a minor adjustment. While the actual tailoring work was fine, I was shocked when I picked up my dress to find what appear to be multiple grease or oil stains that definitely weren't there when I dropped it off. For such an important occasion, this was really disappointing. The dress now needs professional cleaning before the wedding and no promises the stains can be removed. I expected much better handling of wedding attire. read more

I woud not recommend for Bride's. I was not happy with my services or the final results. I left crying! I was rushed out the door and it was not the 'bride' experience I had thought. Christine seemed much more concerned with getting paid in cash 'hundreds please' than making sure I was happy. I ended up having to go to another tailor to get final touches fixed that she did not do as she rushed me out the door saying the dress was done. I normally don't post - but felt I should save another Bride the pain. read more

Christine is a fabulous tailor. I brought my wedding dress to her and she made it look absolutely beautiful. I needed some adjustments to the bust area and needed to come back twice, and she fit me in her schedule each time. I asked for a French bustle, too. I got many compliments on my wedding dress. read more

Helped me understand how I needed an alteration done. Gave me free advice to help me pick out a good pair of pants online. Very friendly and kind service. Highly recommend, nice people. read more

Christine is absolutely wonderful and amazing to work with. I received my dress late and desperately needed it tailored as I lost weight and it was too boxy. Took it to her with just under 2 weeks until my wedding and she delivered with days to spare. The minute I walked in and tried the dress on she knew immediately what I was looking for and what to do. I got the dress back and it was perfect. She took it in & adjusted the bustle & you wouldn't have ever known (and it was a lace dress). Highly recommend!!! Before and after for reference. read more

Christine is amazing! I brought in my mother of the bride gown and Christine had so many ideas to make the dress look and fit just right! I only had one fitting and the dress was absolutely perfect! I can't issue enough accolades for Christine of Tailor Box! She is my go-to for any and all alterations. The quality of her work is matched by her attention to the details. When she's pinning your garment, she pays attention to every element of it and immediately her eye knows where the nips and tucks are needed...some in places you would not have otherwise thought, but you will realize that what she suggests is right on point! Whether a wedding gown, prom dress, trousers, blazer or a simple skirt, Christine's expertise is unmatched. I have recommended her to many people over the years, and every single one who used her services had the same to say: There is no other seamstress they would ever consider. Additionally, when Christine promises a garment on a given date, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be. There have also been times when I was in a crush to get something done right away, and she was able to save the day. Her prices are also very reasonable, and she is an absolute joy to be around. A wonderful woman who is sweet and kind...and who really knows her stuff! The bottom line: If you need a seamstress, see Christine! read more

Great experience overall. Found this business on Yelp and took a chance. I didn't want to take my wedding dress to any tailor or dry cleaning services. Keep in mind this place is strictly just for tailor services and appears to specialize in wedding dresses. But can tailor anything. Christine is the owner/tailor who listened to my every need and expectations....she delivered as requested. Just a heads up, this business only accepts cash for payment. read more

I found Christine through some online searching as I purchased a new wedding gown at the last minute for my December 2023 wedding. I came to her in October with less than two months before the big day. Christine was absolutely amazing from the very start - she put me at ease and did not make me feel more stressed about my very tight timeline. She worked with me to make the dress look as I needed it to. Additionally, my now husband also brought his wedding tux to her and was extremely happy with the results. I would highly recommend Christine to anyone looking for wedding dress alterations, but also other kinds of clothing items too! She is wonderful. read more

I chose to bring my Tom Ford Vintage gown to have alterations and my dress was damaged by this seamstress. I needed a simple hem. I needed sleeves to be let out as much as fabric allowed and I needed the shoulders to be leveled since I removed the shoulder pads. she had three weeks to work on dress. when I picked up dress it was not pressed so it was difficult to see the issues when I tried on dress on. when I got home and steamed it became quite clear that the hem was very crooked, the sleeve was not only let out but she added fabric under arms to give extra space instead of just letting out sleeve as much as it allowed. She never phoned or text me that she was going to do something different than what was discussed. And the dress had to oil line stains on sleeve to mark where sleeve was tight. She very matter of factly said it was the white chalk pen that stained it but offered no apologies for the two stains on sleeve. When I mentioned the crooked hem she attempted to gaslight me by saying it was straight. I went over every issue I had with her work I asked if she was pinning dress first to make sure its even before sewing. She said she did not understand and needed me to show her. I started to pin dress but after pinning the 4th pin I stopped and told her I'm not suppose to show her how to do a simple hem. that is something she SHOULD know. When I told her it's her job not mine to know how to do hem she said she COULD not fix. Please view photos I am posting. the dress is silk along with a silk lining. She also said it's very difficult to see silk. She returned my $70 for hem and gave me an additional $30 for the two oil line stains caused by her chalk pen. Now I have to search for someone to repair read more

Christine saved the day! I went to her for pretty simple dress alterations (just needed a hem and some new padding) but my lace topper which was separate was almost a complete loss due to my arms changing after I purchased it. After being in an accident and recovery, I lost definition in my arms (of all places) and the sleeves were too tight. Christine made no promises but offered to do her very best to fix it. Well, she more than came through!! After hours of work, the topper looked better than originally had and I was able to have my dream look!! She was so nice, responsive, flexible and worth every penny. Also as a plus-size bride, I never felt uncomfortable or judged. Thank you for everything! read more

Christine is with out a doubt the best seamstress in New York!!! I had such a journey with my TWO wedding gowns, when postponing my wedding twice due to covid my weight fluctuated quite a bit and Christine was so caring and phenomenal at transforming my dresses to fit me perfectly. Not only can she fit a dress to you and hem, but Christine is a true artist. She transformed my second dress into a floor length gown and moved appliqués, my other dress she fully built the cups in the bodice and sewed different straps on for me. I don't know what I'd do with out her she helped make my wedding so special. Thank you for everything Christine!!! read more

Christine was a dream to work with for tailoring my wedding dress, and she was incredibly affordable and well organized. She did my mother's dress, too, and was great. She did a wonderful bustle for each of us, and she came up with a fantastic way to adjust my sleeves that previous tailors (who were more expensive) did not consider or suggest. read more

GO HERE! My wedding dress was almost ruined beyond repair by another local tailor who I had unfortunately gone to first. I brought my dress to Tailor Box and I swear the tailor here worked a miracle- in the two weeks before my wedding I went 3 times and the top of my dress was meticulously reconstructed. My dress fit better that I ever could have expected on my wedding day. To say I am grateful is an understatement- I would recommend Tailor Box 10,000 times over! They have a customer for life with me! read more

Christine is my family's go to for all things tailoring. Easy or challenging, she gets it right the first time every time. Price and timetable are always reasonable and in the rare times we've asked, she's done rush jobs for us with a smile. Christine is absolutely amazing!!! I came to her in near tears one month away from my wedding, with an unfinished wedding dress due to the fault of another tailor. Christine put me in the dress that day and pinned everything back together (it was hanging in pieces at the time). By the time I left from our first appointment, I was convinced that the dress would be fine. After only one week at her shop, I went back in for another fitting and it was almost done! Finally, I picked up my dress with one week to spare before the big day. Christine not only finished an entire dress alteration in less time than anyone else, my dress looked better than I ever imagined!! She noticed a few small things that we could change to improve the fit, and it really made such a difference. I am now a lifelong customer thanks to Christine saving my wedding dress!! read more

Christine is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I think I brought her the most challenging dress of all time - 10+ layers of fine tulle, french lace, multiple kinds of beading, applique, corset, you name it. She removed all the accents to hem it, then re-sewed them all back on in the same elaborate design, she added boning into the corset, altered it and got it all done on time /early for my destination wedding. I had even gone to tailors who said it couldn't be done at all!!! If she could do this dress she can literally do ANYTHING. Christine is so incredibly kind and accommodating, honest and fair. She also made my veil and tailored my mom's dress for the wedding and we continue to send her regular dresses for her tailoring expertise because she's a fantastic person and impeccable tailor. The dress also got caught on some kind of wire at the wedding and ripped, which Christine took in to repair as well. Thank you, Christine!!!! The dress was perfect on my wedding day, you are a miracle worker!!! :) read more

Christine at Tailor Box does wonderful work. I am a menswear stylist and bring all my clients' garments that need tailoring to Christine. She understands the issues that I describe. Her work has always been exactly what I've needed, and my clients have always been quite satisfied. I don't have a pattern-making background so I appreciate that I can show her pictures of my clients with questions and she advises me regardless of whether she does the work or not. Of course, I also bring my clothes and my family's clothes to Christine as well! I'm happy to recommend her to everyone I know. read more

I took a gamble and ordered my wedding dress online--but I lucked out and only needed a few minor alterations. The dress was fully sequined, though, so I was anxious about taking it to just anyone! I brought my wedding dress to Christine in February because I knew it would be quite the job.. I needed over a foot cut off from the bottom layers, cups placed, two bustles, and tightening near the bust. I am so happy to say she completed exceeded my expectations. The dress is a Hayley Paige: Romee Gown with 14 layers of asymmetrical glittered tulle. The dress was perfect. I can't say enough positive things about Christine.. she was prompt.. the shop is appointment only so you have perfect one on one time to discuss specific details that you wanted.. and she was easily reachable with texting. I would 100% go back if I need anything else. read more

I LOVE Christine! She is such a mom. I took my very elaborate wedding gown alteration to her. I am very short so I was worried when altering the hemline, I'd lose all the pretty lace detail but she detached all the applique by hand and reapplied it as if the dress was made for someone my height. She also suggested improvements to the gown that would be even more flattering, such as removing a strap to create a more elegant open back. My sister and husband are also getting their alterations from her, and we all had great, lighthearted conversation while she worked quickly and effectively through their appointments. I will update my review with pictures post wedding but she has done a fabulous job so far for such a great price and great service. read more

Christine is absolutely talented and a genuinely kind lady. My first wedding dress was unfortunately ruined by a former neighbor tailor. With only a month to spare and a new dress bought online, I made an appointment with Christine. She was completely understanding of my situation and was ready to help. She has a great eye for detail and made so many alterations to the entire dress. She also knew how to tailor the dress so well for my body type. I thought the dress only had to be hemmed but given her experience with wedding dresses, she knew exactly what had to be done to make my dress go from ordinary to extraordinary. I could not believe how stunning my dress was when she was done. I am beyond happy with all the hard work Christine did. She tailored my wedding dress so beautifully and beyond what I could have possibly dreamed of. Thank you Christine!!! read more

I went to Tailor Box to get alterations on my formal 2 piece set. I went on the Wednesday before Memorial Day to get an opinion of alterations and kristine, the owner, was VERY accommodating. I needed the dress for Tuesday right after Memorial Day and she said she could have it done-- she kept a promise and did an AMAZING job. At my request, she made the crop top a halter and adjusted the jeweled neck piece to fit around my neck (which was an intricate task with all the detailed pieces.) she was thorough and I would highly recommend this business. She also mentioned she does custom pieces. Definitely give Tailor Box a call to see if they fit your needs! read more

After an issue with initial alterations, I needed alterations on a bridesmaids dress less than a week before a wedding. When I called to inquire, Christine was extremely attentive and I knew I had to come get my alterations here. Before I called Tailor Box, I first tried another tailor specializing in wedding alterations closer to my home for one of my dresses (we got married in a church a couple nights before our big reception celebration at a venue). While the work on the dress was nice, the experience was terrible. The seamstress was not nice and made me feel like a jerk for calling to check on my dress after five weeks of having it - all I had altered was the neckline. My experience with Christine could not be more different! She was kind and welcoming from the moment I first called to make an appt. I had lost some weight since I purchased the dress, and I was having a very hard time imagining the end result with the dress fitting me like a glove. It was also tough finding undergarments that did the job but would not show. Christine helped me figure out what would work best and also offered some other suggestions to make the dress look best. The day I went to pick up my dress, I could not believe how perfect it turned out! The transformation from the saggy dress when I first brought it in to the perfect form fitting dress when I picked it up was amazing! Thank you for making me feel beautiful Christine! You were an absolute pleasure to work with, and I am grateful for your kindness, expertise and professionalism! I HIGHLY recommend Tailor Box for your wedding gown! read more

Five stars isn't enough! As a 5 ftall working professional woman just about everything I own needs to be tailored. When my last tailor closed shop I was struggling to find someone new. I read the reviews for this shop and figured I would give it a try. I'm so happy I did!! Christine is wonderful! She is extremely talented, welcoming and made me feel at ease immediately. I have had simple hems done as well as altering an entire dress to fit me- from the simplest designs to an elegant gown Christine's work was always perfect. She always gets things done in the time frame she provides and her pricing is right on point for the work she does. She also tells you what will work best for a particular style or fabric based on her expertise - she doesn't just take the job for the sake of taking it.
