My mother had done the heavy lifting by finding the venue, church, photographer and florist in advance, but couldn't spend anymore time planning so she hired Caplan Miller to complete the planning. They refused to negotiate their price and charged us the FULL PRICE they would have charged if we had hired them in the beginning. Once the contract was signed they didn't do a single thing for us until 3 weeks before the wedding! We hired them 6 months out and had a total of 3 meetings with them. I found out later Sarah was too busy traveling on vacation and planning her birthday party to focus on my wedding???. Not only that, but they totally flubbed the rehearsal day by not communicating to our ushers and grooms what time they needed to be at the church the day of the wedding for photos, and they neglected to inform one set of family members to stay for photos after the ceremony even though Caplan Miller stated they would do this for us. This is their job and they totally dropped the ball. Not only that, but they did not relieve any of the stress or burden on us, not until the very last minute. While I appreciate that they probably know how to throw a good party, I don't think they provide the same level of customer service for all their clients... I guess our budget wasn't big enough.
