This is a relatively inexpensive rice and noodle shop in central Greenwich, right near the Cutty Sark DLR stop and Greenwich Market. Most mains are around £6-7, though plain fried noodles or rice are a mere £4. Drinks are also a little cheaper than others nearby, with sodas at £1.8 (for a small/medium glass) and glasses of wine at £3.8. The portions are actually quite huge, with almost enough to split between two only medium-hungry individuals. One thing to know is that they are cash only, so be prepared. They also only have wooden tables and benches, so though there is ample seating, it is not the most comfortable.

This place was alright but definitely not great. We ordered quite a few things from the menu and to be honest everything is very unmemorable with the exception being the whole fish we ordered that was swimming in wonderful flavours and was the standout of the entire meal. Would I eat here again? The answer would be no.

It's not the best Chinese you'll find, but the food is good. Huge plates and cheap. If you don't care the quality of the service and you want a good deal, this is your place. No se puede ir a este restaurante esperando encontrar la mejor comida china y el mejor servicio. Pero las cantidades son muy generosas y de precio está muy bien. Muy recomendable si estas en el bonito Greenwich.

It was clean and spacious.

After my friend and I enjoyed Greenwich market, we visited this Chinese restaurant because it was very lively with customers and close to the market! Overall, I couldn't have a good time there. Because they brought me a wrong dish and when I told them so, they expressed like I was wrong. After an awkward moment, they served me what I ordered without any comment. The restaurant was clean, cheerful atmosphere and the food was tasty and very volumy, the ingredients they use like prawns looked quite nice, but the service affected the satisfaction so much to me this time.

The tables are of a similar set up to Wagamama in that they are long and you share them with others.

The tonkotsu pork broth was very creamy, rich, and well-seasoned, and the firm noodles offered a very good taste as I ate them together with all the ingredients. The "water" taste was relatively minimal. The pork belly was a bit overcooked and falling apart, by which time I realized there was a bit less meat than I had anticipated but more of the fatty skin part. I just think the broth was a big plus and could make me comfortably say that the ramen I had was great. I know making the tare and the broth takes a long time so while I am not sure Ippudo is exactly following that process, I do see efforts in trying. Both the chicken kara-age and the takoyaki tasted like what they were supposed to taste like, with the oroshi ponzu sauce providing the chicken with a bit of new flavor on top of the already flavorful chicken. The chicken was juicy, too! Juice was flowing out of the breading as I took a bite. The takoyaki had the standard amount of octopus, which was a tiny bit. The matcha brownie was not bad, but lacked matcha flavor and was a bit too hard. It took me a bit to cut it open with my fork which I normally wouldn't be expecting from brownies. Based on the fact that it was cold, I thought it might have been frozen previously. It was well-decorated, but the fact that it was frozen most likely affected how hard it was, along with how less tasteful it was. It was still sweet, but like I mentioned previously, lacked matcha flavor. Another thing I noticed was that the service was slow. It took us a while to get out food. And despite me saying to bring the dessert along with everything else, they still brought out the dessert towards the very end and when we inquired about it, said that they were waiting on us to ask to bring the dessert. Just want to bring it up as a miscommunication instance, but totally not a big deal and it didn't impact my experience negatively at all.

However, I really enjoyed my ramen at this particular location. I had the modern tonkatsu ramen and it was both rich and flavorful without being too heavy. The chasu was tender and delicious. And, the samurai ginjo sake really made the rest of the evening pass by nicely. Service was fine.

I ordered a Vietnamese Coffee, a crispy squid (one I can't get enough of) and the vegan pho with extra hot sauce. Now, I know the vegan pho is not super authentic, but for vegans or plant based people it's the best option. The owners and staff are friendly and can explain you the best options to order. I tried their rare beef pho, and my partner, their chargrilled pork vermicelli and salad, which he loved. We shared a plate of the prawn roll to start with. Nicely presented and tasty flavours. The dipping sauce was different, more plum than peanut. My bowl of rare beef pho came with plentiful fresh pho, no skimping here, that it's never enough. The broth was hot and tasty, how it should be too. To accompany it was a side of bean sprouts, thai basil, a lime wedge and sliced jalapenos if you like it spicier! The rare beef was lovely and tender. A very satisfying meal, and definitely will return, especially, I see they have live lobsters on the menu, and seems to be their speciality. On this occasion, we did nor order it, as we only had a limited time for our meal, it would be too short to enjoy and savour the lobster, so will return!

Pho Street isn't without its faults; I had to remind two different workers that we still hadn't received his order of bbq pork steam buns before they finally brought it over, with sincere apologies; he called the meat "tasteless." Overall, their positive points outweigh this one unfortunate slip-up so I'm sticking with my instinct to give them the benefit of the doubt, & this 4-star rating. Plus, I really enjoyed the casual, cheery atmosphere. Total with fresh OJ was around £31. A decent pick in Greenwich!

My veg spicy soup was good! It's hard to find good veg bun bo hue bc it is usually made with beef stock (bo means beef or cow). I am Vietnamese and I think the rare beef pho tastes like how we make it at home. We visited the Planetarium and Old Royal Naval College. The first time it was a bit too warm outside so we had the smoothie and dessert. I saw them make it from freshly cut avocados. It reminds me of my childhood bc my mom made it for us often. It's a simple smoothie and they made it just like that-no frills. The next time, it was cold outside and we felt that soup was a solid choice! Our experience with the atmosphere and staff also made us comfortable to return then instead of trying a diff place. I look for certain things at a restaurant to make sure they can taste somewhat like home (somewhat authentic). I think this place hit most of those notes so I was happy to return (staple sauces on-hand, the way Vietnamese coffee is made, veg options). It is also an affordable and clean place. I would have really liked to see sugar cane juice on the menu but that's just my stomach talking now...
