I am writing my entire experience with TaiPan Canada East 3 days Tour. The tour started from Toronto at 8:00 am, the tour bus was clean and it was well-maintained for all three days. The tour guide gave instructions in three different languages English, mandarin and Cantonese as most of the tourists were Chinese. I believe if she would have been a bit at ease, the tour would be more delightful. The tour guide's job is to make the journey enjoyable and she should have done a better job. Overall, the 3 days tour was well-scheduled, organized, both the hotels were decent. Tourist should have been allowed to spend more time on sight-seeing as this is the sole reason they are travelling.
Day 1: Our first stop was at Kingston for brunch and sightseeing for 30-40 minutes. There are a couple of street food carts and old government buildings. It is just impossible to visit these places and eat at the same time in such a short period. Next stop was at thousand islands for one-hour cruise ride, this place is astonishingly beautiful, and you can capture beautiful images. Last stop was at Quebec City for dinner at famous restaurant Bistro 1640 (there are cheaper restaurant options too). This restaurant is in the middle of Quebec City, however as you are allowed to spend 1 hour here, again this much time is not sufficient to have dinner and see this wonderful place simultaneously during night time. Finally, we reached our hotel Universal at 10:00 pm, which was a pretty decent hotel.
Day 2: Next day, the journey began at 7:30 am once again to Quebec City and to have breakfast. Very beautiful city, wonderful European architecture similar to Europe, however, most of the boutiques shops and cafes were closed in the morning. Then next stop is for lunch at Fu Lam Chinese buffet (358 Rue Notre-Dame, Repentigny, QC J6A 2S5), other local cheap restaurants are also available nearby which seem to be much better option. After lunch, first stop was at Biodôme and Montréal Tower which were not really impressive. Then next at St. Joseph Oratory for 45 minutes (entry fees 3$), a great architect, nice boutique shop and praying area is very peaceful, and then stop at Norte Dame Basilica for 40 mins (5$ entry fees). Norte Dame Basilica church looks like any other church from the outside but interior design is stunning, worth seeing this place. Lastly at Fu Lam (4275 Rue Jean-Talon Est, Saint-Léonard, QC H1S 1J9) for dinner, again other restaurants options are available. And lastly to Quality Hotel, this hotel was certainly better than a previous hotel.
Day 3: Last day's journey starts at 7:15 am. There is Tim Horton at 10 mins walkable distance from the hotel, as the bus won't stop until 2-3 hours, so better to grab a coffee and some snacks. First stop at Parliament Hill, which is Canada's historic site and has national symbolic status. Every morning the Guard changing Ceremony starts at 9:45 am, very very special and remarkable ceremony. And then stop at War museum - there are four galleries basically consisting of early war in Canada, the First World War, the Second World War and from the cold war. The museum has an excellent collection of tanks and weaponry. But again 60 mins is not enough to get to know about history and go through everything displayed.. Last and final stop at restaurant Yang Ming 1547 Merivale Rd #1, Ottawa, ON K2G 4V3. And finally back to Toronto at 6:30 pm. read more
