Pam was horrible! She took every opportunity to take advantage of us during a family emergency. When our family was in a time of need she would pester us with calls and give ridiculous fees in order to change flight timings. We paid over $3200 in fees just for some flight changes. If we weren't with a travel agent and booked this ourselves we would have saved at least $2000. DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE! read more

I've used Gala Travels a couple of times as has other members of my family and each time they come through with great rates, but all of those have been long distance flights to Europe and Sri Lanka, when it comes to North American travel they don't have the best rates out there and a lost star as a result. They are very useful if you call them, they send very detailed emails and do follow ups if you have something on hold in a timely fashion. On one of my trips I had to postpone my fight thanks to visa delays (no longer an issue with my Canadian passport!) and my travel agent with Gala was very helpful in hooking me up with the best alternate flight and while I had to pay a fee it was a painless process overall. So if you have a trip to Asia coming up I would heavily recommend checking out Gala, their website is very useful and you can see their good rates straight away. And yes I was able to collect aeroplane miles too on my fight. read more

My experience with Gala Travels and specifically with Mr. Tanweer has been very positive. He takes time to explain and does not hurry you unlike other travel agents who take 10 different calls at the same time, put you on hold, come and again go back to taking other calls. Also, if he is looking for prices, he will discuss all the details while on the phone and not say he will call back. I have had experience with other travel agents who will call you back with rates and then are in a rush to get off the phone to attend other calls. I have used gala travels for many years now mostly for my family and myself. There website is extremely easy to use. There fares are and options are as good as i have found anywhere. They will always follow up with me by email or by phone if there are any concerns on there part about my connections or flights. And whenever I have concerns or mistakenly clicked on the wrong dates or flights, there is always a person available to assist me. I have even used the after hour emergency service receiving friendly resolution to my problems. I will continue to use Gala and highly recommend them. read more

Gala Travels has been nothing but a horrible headache!! The company takes larger deposits than have been verified with guests, they don't update you with information or schedule changes. They have horrible customer service and refuse to take responsibility for any problems that they cause. Rude Owner and Unethical Practices For a couple of years, my family & I purchased all of tickets to Pakistan from Gala. We stopped doing that after some horrendous post-sale customer service experience. Our tickets allowed for any changes which can be made by agent. After we went to Pakistan, we needed to change our mother's return flight date. When we contacted Gala, their associate seemed to have no clue on how to do this. First, he redirected us to the airline which rightly said, it's the agent who should do this. We made several calls mostly into the early hours of the morning to get this done. We even needed to do a conference call which included the airline & they explained what agent needs to do. The last call lasted 45 mins and ended at 3 in morning in Pak with my brother on the phone while suffering from flu where the confirming and reconfirming the changes. We later asked for the e-ticket with the updated date & the associate didn't respond. We then found out that no change to the ticket was made & the airline had put my mom as no-show on the original date of departure, wanting us to come to their office in Karachi and clear the no-show charges & then make any changes. Gala didn't accept this blunder & said they would verify if they have the call in their records (which obviously was) & kept gaining time. The owner was extremely rude, hardly available & just ignored most emails & phone calls. They initially pretended that conversation about the change of the ticket never occurred, then came up with some other non-sense that we don't have proof that we asked them to change the date & more of such illogical excuses. Long story short, in the end, we just decided that it's not worth continuing with this stress and try to deal with this unethical company & its rude owner as it was causing more & more grief on already frustrating situation. My family have probably purchased over 40 tickets with Gala in past but after this painful episode we will never buy from them. read more
