Tahoe Park is one of our favorite places to visit! We've lived in the area for almost six years now, and we absolutely love coming here. In the summer, they host food trucks on the last Friday of the month, which is always a treat. The park has lots of shady areas, two playgrounds (one for bigger kids and a smaller one for toddlers), and a track for walking or running. You'll also find fields for soccer, volleyball, and baseball, plus BBQ areas you can reserve. The neighborhood is safe and very family-friendly. One of the best parts is the public swimming pool that opens during the summer. They charge $3 or $4 per person, which is very reasonable. Just a heads-up--this year, they're only accepting cash at the pool. It would be helpful if they posted a sign in the parking lot to let families know. I've seen a few frustrated parents who had to unload all the kids and gear, only to find out inside that they couldn't pay with card. Despite that hiccup, it's a wonderful park for families and we're grateful to have it nearby! read more

We went to a church picnic recently that was held at Tahoe Park. It was a brisk and very windy day, but the sun was shining and it was a mild day so it was still a great day for a picnic at the park. The kids had a great time. Tahoe Park is huge. It's between 59th and 61st St going east and west and between 8th and 11th Ave going north and south, and it is almost 18 acres big according to the City's website. There are soccer fields, a baseball diamond, a full basketball court, a smaller but adequate kids playground, 2 actually, one bigger, and one for smaller kids. In the summer time, the swimming pools will be open, so that's a great facility for hot weather fun. There is also a big gazebo with tables and seating on the side closest to where we saw kids playing soccer. We hung out closer to the picnic table area since we were grilling up some burgers and hotdogs, and there were several picnic tables to sit at and plenty of room. Although that area isn't very shaded. Our church reserved the tables, but it wasn't at the gazebo so it was a bit hotter where we were picnicking, but since it was so windy that day, it wasn't hot at all. It was the perfect day for flying kites so the kids did that for quite some time. Super fun for them to try to figure out how to get the kites to catch the wind and keep afloat. There's a set of bathrooms near the playground but I didn't use them so I don't know if they were clean or not. All in all, this is a nice park that I've just never been to, guess I keep frequenting the same ones that are familiar to me, but this is an underrated park and it's in a safe residential area, so it's a great place for a BBQ or a picnic or a party. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

This is my neighborhood park! I often come here with the kids, as this park offers pretty much everything. It is a huge park where I'm sure is a host to baseball events (because they do have a baseball field), soccer events (because of such a large grassy area), and neighborhood events (such as Halloween events, food trucks, "Tahoe Park" events). There is often live bands that play at such events, along with food and interactive sights. Extremely family friendly. The park also offers two playgrounds. One is the 'big kids' playground (over 5 years old), and the other for 'small kids' (5 and under). But it is parents discretion really. Very near the playgrounds is a full size basketball court and restrooms. There are plenty of trees nearby and scattered throughout the park. There seems to be ample parking too. Very dog friendly, as people walk their dogs often around and through the park. There is also a public swimming pool (gated), which often holds swimming lessons during the summer. There are benches around and a walking path through and through. read more

This review is actually for the Tahoe Park Pool, but I will speak briefly to the park as well. This park is nestled in a nice little neighborhood of Sacramento, near Tahoe Park Elementary. This park also has a pool which is open for the Summer season. I have visited this park for many year, even had my dog do obedience training here in years past. It has a nice walking trail through the park, and has baseball diamonds which are usually packed during the week nights in the summer with leagues playing adult coed ball. The pool is my happy place! I have attended many water aerobics/aquacise classes here over the last 5 years consistently. The pool is always well kept. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the parking is pretty full, but usually you can find parking pretty close to the pool itself so that is pretty nice. read more

We were in Sacramento for Thanksgiving break and the goal was to be outdoors as much as possible. We came to Tahoe park while we waited to pick up food from a restaurant nearby. It is a nice neighborhood park with a nice walkway that goes around and through it. We saw a beautiful sunset from here and the full moon added to the experience. read more

A lovely Park in a nice neighborhood! A swimming pool there as well. Our group had a picnic there and we loved it!

I'm getting a lot of walking in these days, and one of my preferred spots to do so is Tahoe Park. I'd been here many times over the years for picnics, birthday parties and taking the kiddo to the pool. But I guess I never really appreciated it until now. Tahoe Park, like so many other neighborhood parks, is an invaluable resource. Come here on any given sunny Sacramento day and you'll find the place alive with activity. Lots of people walking and jogging, lots of doggies, lots of children. One of the greatest benefits is that they have a large, well-maintained public pull, although the hours open during normal times are pretty slim. I also like the horseshoe area and the many shaded picnic spots. There's a million reasons to take advantage of a resource like this. Hopefully I don't have to pitch you on them. This may not be the biggest park or the oldest, most established neighborhood, but it's beyond wonderful to have it in our city. read more

Awesome park only problem is some asshole who has problems with arson keeps attempting to set the bathrooms on fire every single night , something needs to be done about this. This problem has been going on for multiple months and nothing has been done to stop this asshole from destroying these semi new bathrooms.. other than that it's a nice park! read more

Wonderful location with huge greens well kept. Volleyball picnics bbq grills dog watering fountains baseball swimming pools with lap aerobics and fun swim. Dogs must stay on leash and not allowed at pool. Sometimes folks are playing dodgeball kickball frisbee golf flying kites soccer youth. Tahoe Park ROCKS. Shhh don't tell anyone and it will be that sweet kept secret spot. Oh and within a couple blocks is Village Inn Drive Thru - just go - u will be smiling during your old fashion burger stuffed face of a cool classic slushee freeze. Plus bonus their banana shakes r awesome read more

Love this nice park because it usually doesn't get very crowded, the playground is a nice size, and the pool is great! There is a lot of open grass areas where it can be easy to play sports and do other activities. There's also a good amount of shaded areas with tables for events. Sometimes they host community events here and bring delicious food trucks and entertainment. My family and I always visit the pool several times during the summer because it is a great facility. read more

My neighborhood-park! I love this place. We're here every chance we get to walk the dog and enjoy the nice days. Even though this park can get destroyed on the weekends by an abundance of parties, it's usually all clean by the end of Monday. Big props to the city for that considering all the budget cuts. Over the years, I've observed a funny thing about the demographics on the people who use the park. On Fridays it's mostly white-people at the park: playing frisbee and soccer. Saturday is when black folks come out: cookouts and bounce houses galore. Finally, Sunday is Mexican day with grilling and plenty of volleyball action. Interesting tid-bit, Mexicans are really good at volleyball! read more

The park is so wonderful, peaceful and beautiful, but the porta-potty was so disgusting and filthy it almost made me puke. Seems it has been cleaned in years, full to the rim. Gross! read more

Ok so when I went for my birthday party the pool was open on the website but when I got there I waited for about 10 min because it said it opens at 1-5 and I waited and than come to find out the POOL wasnt even open and it was dirty. Than the park had some inappropriate things in the grass. And also their bathrooms were MAD DIRTY!!!! And on the thing it was clean as a baby's bottom. But other than that it was ok. read more

I use to go sparingly to the park when I was a kid back in the 80's and early 90's. When my son was born I started to come more often and noticed that the remodel of the park greatly improved the look and has a more child friendly feel. I also like running around the park in the morning for about 40 minutes. The trail they built with dirt around the park does wonders for my knees! read more

When I used to live in Sacramento, I was literally a block away from the park. I would come here a few times a week in the morning to go for a run. The park is large with a playground, baseball diamond, a few picnic areas, public restrooms and enough grassy space to make every dog in the neighborhood happy. The park is in a very good neighborhood. Everyone you see at the park, even those on their morning jogs, will smile and say hi. On very very few occasions you will see people who may look a little shady, but in the months I ran here, I was never bothered. It's a great family park where you can take your kids to play. Take your dogs for a run. Or just come, relax and enjoy the day. read more

Tahoe Park itself, much like the neighborhood surrounding it, is lovely. It's approximately .25 miles from my house and the dirt path around it is about 2/3rds of a mile, providing for a pleasant jog or walk. But other than running in a few circles, Tahoe Park has more to offer. 1. Plenty of delightful trees and shade. 2. Many benches and tables. You'll often see famlies and large parties. 3. THE POOL! Great for families again, and a nice feature of the park. 4. Swings. Because inside i'm 10. 5. A very pretty art sculpture. 6. A softball field - I hear the Tahoe Park Rangers rock it there! 7. Stations around the track for other types of exercise - balancing muscle groups. 8. DOGS! I love seeing all the neighbors watching their pups. I should go more and throw a ball around or take a dip! read more

I like this park - it's close to my house, close to both a bakery and a bbq place (for awesome picnicking), plus it has a baseball field, soccer field, playground equipment, bathrooms, picnic tables, a walking/running trail, and a swimming pool. However, the City has no money, so they've closed the pool for the foreseeable future. Which is so lame. I've moved within walking distance of Tahoe Park and they've shut the thing I was most excited about. But still, this 4x4 (block) park is the perfect spot to lunch or lay-out or read or have a family reunion or play a game of ball. I'm holding the 4th star for when the pool reopens, but in the meantime it's still a park worth visiting. read more

Close to my house and a little secret near midtown. Only about a half mile per loop. But not super crowded, shady, and nice packed dirt path. A good place to do a little pseudo-speedwork since it seems most tracks in Sacramento are closed to the public. The park itself is nice; softball, soccer (albeit small) fields, plenty of grass, trees, BBQ grills, full court bball court, and a local swimming pool that seems to never be open. Can be a bit busy and a little sketchy during summertime evenings. read more

I've always enjoyed this park. Probably because it's in a quiet neighborhood & when folks gather here it's a family type atmosphere. read more

This park has a little of everything! Sports courts, a pool (when open), playground, grassy areas with shady trees, grills, and a track. There are frequent gatherings here, including softball leagues, dog training classes, etc. Our dog likes it here because there are always a lot of people and other dogs to meet. read more

I grew up going to this park and swimming in the pool there. I now live down the street from it and take my boys to it on a regular basis. There are 2 play structures, one for the little kids and one for the bigger kids. A few baseball diamonds, a basketball court, an area for volleyball, an area to play horseshoes across from the park, a covered picnic area, and of course benches, bbq's, and more picnic tables. Also lots of open space to run around and play. I think once around the park is about .7 miles and there are little exercise stations around the park. In addition, there is a dirt trail so you don't have to run on the sidewalk. The only negative is the pool is closed. Which is a real shame considering how many people utilized it. I love this park! read more

This park is great for all ages of kids. There are two different playgrounds for ages up to five and then over five. The community pool is clean and just a great place to have some fun during the summer. There are also food trucks every last Friday of the month with beer, live music, and activities for kids. The grass is well kept and there are several BBQ areas. read more

I live within walking distance to the park and sometimes I go there for a walk before or after work. There are a lot of families in Tahoe Park East that go there along with a mixture of folks that live on the other side of Tahoe Park. As with any park, including McKinley Park, there are groups or individuals that make me uncomfortable. I don't chalk this up to the neighborhood but rather just the way the world is today; unsettling folks are everywhere. There are a lot of baby strollers and a lot of people walking their dogs. I have found a more "senior" population walking in the morning versus the afternoon. read more

I've recently taken to getting into some healthier habits and regular exercise is at the top of that particular to do list. I'm not a gym rat and don't want to pay any kind of monthly membership fees at this point. It's because of these reasons that I'm thrilled to have Tahoe Park right up the street from my house. This little patch of green really has quite a bit to offer! The jogging path runs around the perimeter of the park and has strength and conditioning stations along the way. There's a beautiful baseball diamond, a few basketball courts, volleyball net and horseshoes always open to interested parties. It's also one of the few public parks that still has a swimming pool, complete with changing rooms and a kiddie pool. The bummer is that it's only open a few days a week. You can usually find soccer teams practicing in the wide open spaces or families gathering at one of the many picnic areas. Occasionally I'll see groups of kids loitering, smoking pot or otherwise lowering the surrounding property values, but I've never had any problems with any of them and they generally have good weed! (kidding on that last bit) I envision many future laps run around the track, having a catch or maybe a barbecue in the summer! However I end up spending my time at the lovely Tahoe Park, I'm sure it will be time well spent! read more

I can only review this park for the portion around the swimming pool. I came here on a Sunday morning for some yoga in the park and we met around the swimming pool. I like how the area we were in was in the shade and I was able to do yoga here. The park itself isn't nearly as crowded as Mckinley parking with runners/walkers but it seems to still get the trick done. The park seemed fine to me and I would be back for yoga.. read more

This has always been a great park for the neighborhood. It's a great hang out spot and the food truck / live band nights are always fun!

I play softball here, city co-ed "D" league. The field is decent, and has lights for evening play. Downside is that the bathrooms are sometimes closed, and aren't that close to the field. You can join a dog-training class in the park that always seems to be going on Tuesday nights. Also, there is a running track and those little exercise stations. Nice park in an up and coming neighborhood. I always see families walking, even in the evening. read more

Love living near this park. I walk my dog to this park very often. Every once in awhile there will be a group of teenagers smoking herb. I usually confront them and they leave. Other than that, I havent noticed much crime around this park. I really love taking my family to their pool during the summer. Also they have food truck events every month since the summer this year. A very diverse neighborhood surrounds this park, and the neighbors are all watching to try and keep crime away from ruining our beautiful neighborhood. The only thing I can say that this park is missing is a situp bench. read more
