Stop searching and just hire Taylor and her team with Revel and Rye to plan your wedding already!!!…read more Hiring a wedding planner in Lake Tahoe is a high-stakes decision: you need someone experienced, professional, and knows the ins-and-outs of the wedding industry in Lake Tahoe. Taylor, Christy, and the Revel and Rye team executed our vision flawlessly for our June 2025 wedding, and we couldn't be happier with our decision! From the Introduction Call, Design Board meeting, and regular check-ins with Taylor, we were impressed with how responsive she was to our questions, and she even met with us in person to tour venues together. We didn't have to worry about a single thing! We decided to have our ceremony and reception at a State Park, which presented a huge logistical challenge with an extremely limited time of 2 hours to set-up a venue for 80+ guests from scratch! Taylor successfully coordinated with all of our vendors to create a beautiful ceremony and reception space, that left our guests in awe! The best part about hiring Taylor, is that she takes great pride in her work and is passionate about what she does! She's not just a wedding planner - she is a Creative Director, and we were so amazed at the ideas her team came up with, from wedding favors to signage, based on our wedding vision! Afterwards, we received multiple comments about how smoothly everything went and how every detail was thoughtfully executed. It allowed me and my husband to truly be present on our wedding day. As soon as we met Vanessa and the team at One Fine Day, we knew instantly they were the ones to pull off our vision. My husband and I were equally sad (still sad!) to no longer have our standing meeting with Vanessa after more than a year of discussions, tastings, decisions and getting to know each other. Vanessa has a remarkably calm, collected presence. She's just as organized and detail-oriented. She's exceptionally talented at balancing ideas and perspectives, turning wild hairs and ridiculousness into event magic, and communicating with kindness and grace. Our interactions with Stephanie and the rest of the team were no different. In addition to our wedding and reception at High Camp, they helped us plan our Friday Welcome event at West Shore Café which by guest count, was larger than our wedding and reception. They helped us arrange a "kids village" and location for our after-party. Every detail across multiple events -- from the decor, vendor selection, flow, and tending to the various needs of 250+ guests -- was flawless. We're profoundly grateful to One Fine Day for making our wedding weekend more than we could have ever dreamed it to be. If we ever need help planning an event in the future, there's only one call we'll make.

We originally opted for a courthouse wedding, but quickly realized we wanted to do more to honor our beautiful seven-year relationship and include the people who mean most to us. THIS is where The Hytch came in and created a PERFECT day for us, our daughters (one human, one canine), and 19 of our closest loved ones. From the start, Gina was a warm and knowledgeable coordinator. She covered every detail I hadn't thought of and provided creative options at every turn. She enthusiastically accommodated every unique idea I threw at her, as long as it was anything short of impossible! Leading up to the wedding, I spent most of my time pinning down the details of our music playlist, outfits, and vows. Any other stressor was out of mind and covered by Gina; at most, it just required a quick answer on what would work best for my husband and me. Day-of, though?! Oh my god. Beyond! This team KNOWS what they're doing. I showed up a little later than I had hoped (typical), and they supported me in regaining time to prepare like the true pros they are. Gina and Mackenzie handled EVERYTHING--most of it being invisible to me, I'm sure. They totally GOT my vision and created an event that I still can't believe was real. I honestly think they could become professional cat herders if they wanted to--they're that amazing! As our officiant, Darren helped ease our nerves with humor and liveliness. He took every note we gave him to heart and delivered a service that our guests said was THEIR FAVORITE CEREMONY EVER!!! Of course I'm biased, but our family and friends have a history of being brutally honest. I can tell you it was definitely our favorite wedding ever, though. And then there is the GLORY that is Ashleigh, our photographer. She took the art (I'm calling my wedding art!) we created with the help of Gina, Mackenzie, and Darren and turned it into something we can keep and share forever. You know how sometimes you wish you could SHOW your dreams to other people? If anyone can work magic like that, it's Ashleigh. On a slightly more grounded note, this was our first time doing a couples' shoot. I don't think I've had professional photos done since school, and of course I spent a lot of time fretting over how I would look. I went into this feeling a little anxious, a little insecure, and a lot clueless. If that's you: do NOT worry! Ashleigh has your back and will turn you into a supermodel. Like I said... magic. My final shout-out goes to the venue itself. For us, it being local was a huge plus. Reno is home, and Sierra Water Gardens is very close to our actual house! I'm usually very expressive, but there's just no point in trying to describe the beauty of the SWG spot. It's breath-taking. Thank you to the whole team for your incredible work and the shining personalities you shared with us. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate in what has become my favorite spot in Reno (and maybe the world?). There is a reason The Hytch has such good reviews. If I hear the words "wedding planning" ever again, I'm going to MAKE SURE The Hytch enters the conversation. They will give you the wedding you want, and deserve! Kylie and Ryan -- Married 4.18.26

They were always flexible with scheduling meetings, understanding with payments, and incredibly attentive whenever I had questions (or wedding-planning anxieties!). I always felt heard, reassured, and taken care of. Gina absolutely nailed my vision. I showed her a Pinterest board, and she brought it to life beyond anything I could have imagined. The florals were stunning -- and the team even made me smaller bouquets to take home afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch. The entire staff was professional, sweet, and so accommodating to both us and our families. The venue itself is pure magic. The Hytch spans the breathtaking Sierra Water Gardens and backs up to the Truckee River, which makes for the most gorgeous and unique setting. The moment I walked in, I was speechless. It was everything I had dreamed of and more. One of the biggest gifts they gave us was peace of mind. For an incredible value, you get the entire venue AND their team fully handles setup and breakdown of décor. That level of support allowed me to actually be present on my wedding day instead of worrying about logistics. I cannot overstate how much that meant to me. We did experience one small hiccup the day of (our officiant was double booked and arrived late), but The Hytch team handled it with such grace. They pivoted quickly and generously allowed our celebration to run later so we didn't lose any time. It meant so much that they cared about making our day whole. Her warm demeanor instantly makes you feel like you're talking to an old friend or family member. She is organized, professional, and experienced: she knows the ins and outs of the industry and maintains good working relationships with local vendors. Her services range from month-of-coordination to full service wedding/event planning, so she truly can meet every couple's needs. She listens to your vision and gives helpful suggestions along the way that still allows you to feel like your event is a personal one instead of "cookie-cutter" or what the vendor wants.... Something that sets Lindsay apart from other vendors is how she keeps an open line of communication to all of her clients, even if you've booked her for month-of-coordination like I did. Despite being incredibly busy, Lindsay was always willing to answer any of my questions promptly throughout my planning process. She also recommended some truly amazing vendors that we cannot imagine having our wedding without in hindsight. Hiring Lindsay was best decision I made in our 15 months of planning because it wouldn't have all been possible without her. Despite all my efforts planning each individual part of my wedding and hiring my own vendors independently, none of it would have come together cohesively on the day of if Lindsay hadn't been there (since there are always last minute things that don't go EXACTLY as you planned them, like the weather in our case). There is nothing that can go wrong on your day when you have Lindsay there behind the scenes to create that perfect day of your dreams. Thank you so much, Lindsay, for being part of our best day!!!

Just wow! We could not have imagined having our wedding in a more perfect location. It was…read moreeverything that we hoped for: a bit off the beaten path with absolutely stunning views highlighting the mountains and trees that we love so much, but close enough to Truckee to make it accessible for all of our guests. And the owners, Fred and Pam, are the kindest, most welcoming people that go above and beyond to make you feel like family and make your day perfect! We cannot thank them or recommend their property enough! We visited Mitchel's Meadows on our first day of wedding venue touring. We had multiple tours and hours of driving planned for the day and set aside about 45 minutes for our stop at Mitchel's Meadows, but ended up staying for close to 2 hours chatting with Fred as he showed us all over the property, before inviting us in for hot chocolate and homemade treats around the fireplace in their home. It was a cold November day and they had put away most things for the winter, but the magic and love for their property showed through and we knew this is where we would celebrate our day. We chose to have our ceremony on a grassy area off the back of the home (which we had access to the entire day and was where the bridal party got ready!) overlooking the meadow. This is the main ceremony area, but the owners also gave us the option to have it anywhere we choose on the property to make the day our own. Our First Look was in an aspen grove a short hike from the house (which the owners had created a path to, complete with wood crossings over marshy areas) by the Little Truckee River. Our reception area was adjacent to another meadow just up from the house. The owners have built out an ideal space with pavers and tent, string lights over an outdoor dance floor, a bar, multiple seating areas (both around the dancefloor and in the meadow!) and permanent restrooms - all included with the venue rental. We loved moving throughout the property as the day progressed and enjoying all of the different spaces. The property is truly magical and words, nor photos, can do it justice. Other amenities to highlight: In addition to access to the main house, there is also a workshop where the groomsmen got ready, multiple firepits and heat lamps to keep warm when it cools down at night, and lots of odds and ends from previous weddings to help fill out decor or save the day if something was missed or forgotten. Additionally, the owners provide a golf cart shuttle service between different points of the venue day of. And as previously stated, the tent is a great bonus. This isn't usually something that comes with a venue and is typically rented separately, but it provides a great "indoor" backup peace of mind for weather. On our wedding day, we lowered the clear flaps of the tent to keep out the wind, but the clear material still allowed us to enjoy the surroundings. Finally, the property is yours for the entire weekend; Fred & Pam only book one wedding per weekend, making coordinating rentals, setups and teardowns super easy and stress free as it does not all need to happen on the wedding day. We are absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out and the memories we made at this magical spot in the forest. Another shout out to Fred and Pam for the HUGE role that they played in it! The care they have for the property and the amount of work they put into it truly makes it special. They are beyond accommodating and immensely helpful. They take the time to get to know you and are genuinely invested in helping you make your day the memory of a lifetime.

Chris and I had the absolute pleasure of getting married at Mitchells Meadows this past weekend…read more The venue is unbelievably special and should be at the top of the list for any couple seeking a gorgeous outdoor wedding in the Tahoe area. Chris and I had looked at most venues in Tahoe and narrowed in on Mitchells Meadows for the following reasons: 1) It offers a rare combination of feeling truly remote while offering infrastructure: The venue is tucked away in the Tahoe National Forest in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with a property featuring picturesque streams and large meadows with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Our first visit to the property took our breath away -- it offers stunning beauty and feels really off the beaten path (no cell service onsite -- which we LOVED). You have to see it for yourself to really understand. Simultaneously, however, it feels accessible -- It's only a 30 minute drive from the venue to Truckee, where there are many hotels and airbnbs for guest housing. The property itself comes equipped with key infrastructure which would typically make such a location challenging for event planning -- a tent with flooring, a dance floor under the stars, string lighting, bathrooms with a view of the mountains, a gorgeous wooden bar hand-built by the owner. 2) The owners are incredibly special people: Pam and Fred are the heart and soul of the venue. There wasn't a time when we visited the property when Pam didn't invite us up into the house to have iced tea and baked goods. Fred is known to build things custom for weddings on property and is constantly working to ensure that the space is manicured and perfectly maintained. Pam and Fred clearly love their property and work to ensure that every couple getting married there has a perfect, tailored experience. 3) No wedding at Mitchells Meadows is exactly the same: Chris and I did not want a cookie cutter wedding and we visited a number of venues that felt like "wedding mills." Mitchells Meadows is the opposite of this. Each couple can really design their personal vision -- there are a myriad of choices for ceremony location, for first look, for cocktail hour, and the space really becomes a scenic pallet for couples to create the experience of their dreams. With that said, Pam/Fred make it easy, guiding couples with best practices and offering built in infrastructure (For every guest, there will already be a tent, bar, dance floor, fire pits, and stage already available at the venue, for no additional cost). 4) There are no noise ordinances: This was actually huge for us in the decision process, as we wanted guests to be able to dance late into the night without interruption. Almost all of the venues on Lake Tahoe (if not all) have a strict noise ordinance of 10 pm. As it's fully tucked away, Mitchells Meadows allows its patrons to party with amplified music until midnight, giving much more time / flexibility around the celebration. Mitchells Meadows was such a special experience for us and enabled us to throw the most perfect mountain wedding. Our guests danced under the stars, lounged by fire pits late into the night, and marveled at the views. We've heard so much feedback that this was the most amazing venue people had ever seen. We couldn't recommend Mitchells Meadows more strongly for anyone planning a Tahoe wedding. Go and see it for yourself and you'll understand immediately.

Merrily! I love this woman! I don't even know where to begin…read more We could begin at the beginning, when I told Merrily, "well, let's see, I'd like to get married near the lake... outside... that's about all I know." So how did she figure out exactly what I was looking for and deliver it? It's still kind of a mystery to me, but I think it has something to do with months of patience, lots of creativity, and tireless efforts to work closely with me, my husband, and my mom. Merrily found an estate that was perfect for our needs - actually a lovely vacation home, right on the lake, owned by a lovely couple that rents out for one wedding a summer. She visited the estate multiple times (while I was living in Chicago), measuring, imagining, drawing plants, re-drawing... and laid out a fantastic ceremony and reception. My whole family went up to Tahoe for a long weekend and Merrily arranged great meetings for us with the vendors I'd selected (based on her recommendations) - it was really fun working with these women, they love working together and clearly have the logistics of weddings down to a science. With that said, they all (Merrily, as well as the florist and the caterer) put so much creative energy into my wedding and came up with such great ideas, it made me feel like I was the only wedding they were doing all year. Speaking of vendors, I need to write a whole separate yelp review about Chapin the DJ, who was the most unexpectedly awesome part of the wedding weekend. He had these crazy lounge singer versions of early Michael Jackson among other gems. We loved it. Really. Merrily rocks for finding him. I hired Merrily about 14 months before my wedding. Anything can happen, right? Yes: one day she called to tell me that she was having a baby a mere 2.5 months after the wedding day! Even if she hadn't been 6 months pregnant, I would have been surprised how hard she worked on the day of our wedding. She was out directing the small army of people building and arranging stuff, she managed the rescue of the altar when it fell in the lake during setup, she arranged and perfected flowers, rocks, petals, table arrangements, guest cards, ...man, there was a lot of stuff... and of course kept us all on schedule and in the right place at the right time. The day went incredibly smoothly. I didn't worry about anything, except keeping myself from crying and smudging the eye makeup. If you think I'm over the top in gushing about Merrily, you should read one of the emails my mom writes to prospective brides looking for references. Every time she gets the chance to write one of these, I am convinced she spends hours crafting a new letter. (Let's just ignore the part where she takes digs at me for going to India for 3 months in the middle of wedding planning season.) My mom is a little more detail oriented than me, and definitely a much better party planner. Since she's the expert, I'll just quote her here: "Merrily is very creative, easy to work with, prompt. She pays attention to detail and keeps everything on track. In short, she is a very accomplished professional. I really think she was an angel." As my mom says, I think you'll be lucky if you get to work with Merrily.
