Initially, I was not planning to have a day-of planner because my wedding was at Round Hill Pines, and staff does about 90% of set up. The only thing I really needed help with was decorations. I had enough family and friends willing to help; however, I was going to be 7 months pregnant during the wedding, and I didn't want the added stress of assigning duties to my family and friends and making sure they knew what time to be where, and what to do. Anyway, I hired Plan Your Day, and I was paired up with Sierra. Sierra is awesome. Super approachable, friendly, easy to communicate with, and great to work with. Unfortunately, I had to postpone my wedding due to the Caldor Fire. Sierra said they would roll over my payment to a future date, which was great. Then I am informed in early December 2021 that I'd need to provide a date for my rescheduled wedding by December 31, 2021, or I'd be charged $1,000, or my agreement would be terminated. This was not how the contract is worded. I was rescheduling my wedding, and the Event Rescheduling provision says, "If Client(s) reschedules the Event Date, written notice must be given to the Planner of Client(s)' intention to reschedule the Event Date and if known, identify the new date for the Event ("Rescheduled Event Date")." The contract says, "if known" and I didn't know what the new dates would be when we rescheduled because there was a huge fire in the area. Sharae informed me that she gave me a courtesy of 4 months to provide a new date for my wedding, but the Rescheduling provision does not say when I needed to provide the "rescheduled event date." The contract says, "If Planner is unavailable to perform the Services for the Rescheduled Event Date, then it will be deemed a Termination by Client(s) as outlined below." Either way, Sharae gave me 2 options: A.) Since you have asked for an extension through January or February to provide dates for a rescheduled 2023 wedding. Without a signed written agreement or modified agreement containing 1-2 dates that the wedding will be postponed to, on January 1, 2022, your contract will be considered terminated. But, a new contract will be introduced, signed, and an additional $1000 retainer fee will be applied towards your new event date. This new contract will be signed and due by January 1st to allow for the extended time frame to provide 1-2 rescheduled dates. B.) Without a signed written agreement or modified agreement containing 1-2 dates that the wedding will be postponed to, on January 1, 2022, your contract will be considered terminated and no additional services will be provided. OOOK....with my newly acquired mommy brain, basically, if I didn't have a signed agreement by New Years, I'd either lose my $2,200 that I had already paid or need to pay an additional $1,000. No thank you! I rescheduled my wedding before Sharae's New Years deadline. Fast-forward to 2023 and I'm working with Sierra again, which I was happy about. She was great to work with again, but she seemed to have a lot on her plate. I wasn't too concerned because I had been in close contact with all my vendors already, so I was mainly relying on Sierra for decorations and the ceremony. Unfortunately, Sierra informed me that she would not be there for my wedding, but she did provide me with an amazing replacement - Robin. I was a bit nervous because I never met Robin until the wedding rehearsal, and I didn't know what her background was in event coordination. Robin is superwoman! She handled the flow of the ceremony and kept the wedding events on schedule. A few of the place settings got mixed up, but it wasn't a huge deal. I was also supposed to have 2 people staff my wedding from Plan Your Day, but Sierra said the other person was not available and they could not find a replacement. The issue with that is I paid for 2 vendor meals for Plan Your Day, at $90 per head, and it was too late to deduct a meal. Would I recommend Plan Your Day to others? Unfortunately, I can't say I'd highly recommend Plan Your Day to others, as a business, but I would mention them as a worthwhile company to consider. Did Robin do a fantastic job? Absolutely! I'm not sure if she is a regular employee of Plan Your Day, but I'm glad she was there for my big day!

It boasts a beautiful cascade and these tiny bridges that took you along a path of their garden oasis to then view the Truckee. The seating was adequate, maybe it could accommodate up to100 people. It had small almost hut like buildings for lack of a better word which served as a bar area where drinks were served, seating for dining and 2-3 places specifically designated for couples to take great photos, but the grounds itself was plenty. It's one of those places I'd say, it doesn't feel like Reno, it's what you would come to expect from spots that feel like you go on a vacation without leaving town. No pictures here, simply to honor the bridge, groom and their guest, but look up The Hytch and check it out. Maybe refer a couple that's been in a holding pattern forever. Kate took the time to get to know us. She had us walk through what was important to us to have captured on our wedding day. It was not really something that we had thought to articulate ourselves, but Kate made it easy by showing us example photos and having us describe what we liked about each one. Kate worked with us to create a very detailed and easy to follow timeline for our wedding day. Family and wedding party photos were a breeze, because she had organized the order in which each member would be added and removed from the photos. We had a 20 person bridal party plus a lot of extended family getting ready with us. Come the morning of the wedding when Kate arrives to the bridal suite, she circles all of my bridesmaids and family members up and goes around the room to learn every persons name. Incredibly, she memorized them all and used them throughout the entire day to help give directions. She truly became part of our family that day. She was great at being able to round up our big, crazy families. Everyone loved her. Being the center of attention can be intimidating. Kate helped relieve some of that pressure by being so stealthy and out of the way when photographing the day. I often forgot I was being photographed, which helped me be able to be myself and not feel like I was being watched by a camera. She and her second shooter, Kat, caught the most memorable candid moments because of that. I must also add that Kate dove herself into the dance floor to capture my brother and husband dancing together. We are so grateful to have had her on our wedding day. When our photos were finally ready to be revealed, Kate didn't just send us an email; she had us come to her office to relive the day together. We got to go through every photo together up on her large TV screen and create our wedding album. She gave us over 1,200 photos and had them all carefully organized in albums. She had also drafted 50 pages for us for our wedding album-- something that would have been quite daunting to try to put together on our own. Together, we created the wedding album of our dreams. Our experience with Kate Stapleton was priceless. We could not have been in better hands. She captured our special day so beautifully and our family will cherish these photos for generations.
