When my now-HUSBAND and I first started to plan, we knew we didn't have the financial or mental fortitude for a large, traditional wedding. We originally opted for a courthouse wedding, but quickly realized we wanted to do more to honor our beautiful seven-year relationship and include the people who mean most to us. THIS is where The Hytch came in and created a PERFECT day for us, our daughters (one human, one canine), and 19 of our closest loved ones. From the start, Gina was a warm and knowledgeable coordinator. She covered every detail I hadn't thought of and provided creative options at every turn. She enthusiastically accommodated every unique idea I threw at her, as long as it was anything short of impossible! Leading up to the wedding, I spent most of my time pinning down the details of our music playlist, outfits, and vows. Any other stressor was out of mind and covered by Gina; at most, it just required a quick answer on what would work best for my husband and me. Day-of, though?! Oh my god. Beyond! This team KNOWS what they're doing. I showed up a little later than I had hoped (typical), and they supported me in regaining time to prepare like the true pros they are. We hired the Hytch for our wedding at the Sierra Water Gardens in Reno, and WOW what an experience working together. It really was great working with the ladies throughout my entire planning process. We held a very small ceremony and reception, under 30 guests, and pricing was affordable for us, compared to a larger gathering. From the beginning of the planning process communication had been great, I gave them my Pinterest board, and we had a few meetings leading up to the big day. They partner with local vendors to get the flowers and decor that we wanted, and I did love what everything looked like on the big day! What I did not like was not knowing what the decor would look like, until I showed up for my wedding. Additionally, in the bridal suite, my dress immediately turned black on the bottom because the floor wasn't clean, or even swept up, so dirt got on the outside of my dress, even before I even walked outside. That was really disappointing for me. This is an outdoor venue, so if weather would ruin your day, be warned that they don't have heaters or anything of the sort aside from the gazebo covering. My daughter and her fiancé wanted an intimate, simple wedding with just a few family members. They did not want to fuss over lots of details or be stressed by making sure everything was ready on the day of the wedding. The Hytch was the perfect solution, providing a scenic oasis on the bank of the Truckee River for the event, and just the important services of a planner, an officiant and a photographer to make the wedding go smoothly. Gina was very responsive throughout the planning process and made it easy for my daughter and her fiancé. On the wedding day, the Sierra Water Garden was beautiful and peaceful, even in mid-winter (I can imagine it is stunning in the summer). The little house on-site provided a quiet, warm place for my daughter to get ready, and for the couple to have a few minutes of privacy after the ceremony and before the family photos (by the way, the house, newly remodeled and beautifully decorated, is available as an AirBnB - I recommend it for the night before and/or after a wedding, or for any couple just wanting a romantic retreat). Gina gently and efficiently directed the flow of the wedding, the officiant Darren did a great job with the ceremony, and Ashleigh the photographer took amazing photos before, during and after. If you are looking for a small, sweet wedding with minimum fuss and maximum love, I highly recommend the Hytch and the Sierra Water Garden. P.S. At random we decided to tour the beautiful location of The Hytch at Sierra Water Gardens and we fell in love with it! The amazing Yeliz and Gina told us that they had an opening in July of 2025, and we were nervous about moving up the date so significantly. They supported us every step of the way, and brought my vintage garden wedding dreams to life! I started my new job as a nurse the week of my wedding, and they took all of the stress off of me! They helped me incorporate my vintage china and vintage thrifted glasses into the wedding, and used my grandmother's crocheted tablecloth that she had made for me prior to her passing in the most beautiful and memorable way! Ashleigh was the most personable photographer with so much knowledge in her field! She made my husband and I feel so comfortable and got our sneak-peak images to us in less than 3 hours after the ceremony! The team was in charge of picking the florals and decorating, and myself, my husband, and our guests were blown away! THEE BEST! We heard about The Hytch through a coworker of mine who also got married with their company. We met via phone call with the owner, Yeliz and she was so informative o what they had to offer! They had so many different and unique packages to pick from. We got married on 9/22/2024 at their venue site in Reno, NV. But it is worth mentioning that they also do smaller ceremonies in Tahoe in the woods or on the water too! It was a tough decision because everywhere they could do a ceremony was just beautiful. Gina helped from start to finish with the planning and was so flexible with us in regards to payment and all the crazy continuous questions I had. They set up AND took down the decorations I had brought my dream wedding to life! We even added their photo booth option which my guests loved! They helped with recommendations on literally everything! We're not from the area so it was hard to know where to get certain things from (appetizers, photography, hair & make up). It came out way better than I could have imagined. The venue is a plant nursery so it's lush and green and right on the Truckee River. Like you can sit and watch the water go by! The trees help to provide shade and just a natural beauty so you don't even need that much decor. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing. We first found The Hytch on Instagram and loved their overall vibe of their previous elopements and pop up weddings they have produced. We booked them in January 2022 and had our pop up wedding in August 2022. Our point person was Addie and she was really easy going and professional the entire planning process. The Hytch essentially plans everything as far as decor and rentals go. You just have to book your photographer and catering and boom, instant wedding has been planned! I would give this place 5 stars but have to give them 4 because of one major drawback at their venue. They have no sound system. Unfortunately during our ceremony the sound of the waterfall behind us drowned us out and we were told the next day by guests they could not hear us during the ceremony. Had The Hytch just invested in a microphone and proper speakers, we probably would have solved that issue. In the planning process we asked about that but they insisted all would be fine. Another small detail that went totally unnoticed was our dessert table. They put out all the desserts very early leaving us with bare photos of our cake. Literally the only thing in the shot surrounding the cake was a few brownie bites and a few pieces of candy that were left in the apothecary jars behind the cake. Really really wish they had gotten all of the desserts out at once and grabbed a photo before just throwing them out to guests in bits and pieces. Aside from those small issues, The Hytch did a wonderful job giving us beautiful decor and a very special, handcrafted ceremony and reception. If you're looking to do something with 50 guests or less, this is a great spot! Lastly, do not expect to have a dance party at your reception. I had never been there before, but once I walked inside, I fell in love with the pond, the dock, and nice atmosphere. Even friends of mine that lived in Reno all their lives wanted to know where I proposed because the venue looked like I was in some forest. I literally didn't have to decorate much because of how romantic the venue is. Decorations: Like I said, the venue was awesome, so no need for decorations. Yeliz was awesome as she had hookups to balloons, flowers, cupcakes, anything you wanted. I ended up getting help from Balloons by Court which everyone loved, and hanging up my own pics I ordered. Music: I made a playlist on Apple Music, showed it to Yeliz, and she made it happen exactly when and how I wanted to play the music! Photography: I had my own, but Yeliz has a list of professional photographers & videographers to help capture moment. For pics I had Jae Sison, and hired Tweaking Reality for video which Yeliz recommended. They all did a great job and I am satisfied w/ both the pics and video. Basically, if you are planning any event (party, proposal, wedding, or fundraiser), call Yeliz! She is super easy to work with, can help with ideas, decorations, and recommendations for nearly everything. I'm glad I was able to find her through Yelp!, and I'm glad my proposal turned out well. Yeliz & the Hytch are amazing. I contacted them in March right before Covid became a pandemic, I can't recall how I found them. I think I googled around and was looking through the Knot. I really liked the personal and modern look vs a couple other elopement companies I found. Anyways, after they replied to me in March, my planning got put on hold due to the world seemingly being on hold. Then as months went by, I still saw there were able to complete elopements and posting on their FB and instagram,. My fiance' and I did not want to wait indefinitely to be able to get married, so I pursued the Hytch again in mid June. Yeliz replies to every message every single day, no matter the time(you can tell how hard she works, and late as well). Once I described my ideal setting to her, she knew right off the bat the location she wanted to suggest. I started planning 5 weeks before the big day, I should say, I gave all my ideas to Yeliz and she planned the whole thing. There were a few times where I felt like I would have to just have faith that it was going to work out, she does all the planning effortlessly, it seems too good to be true. We chose the pop up wedding; I had a hair and makeup girl show up to my airbnb with the flower crown I chose, cherry bomb catering catered our food at the wedding which was both easy and tasty, (FYI the only recommendation I have here is to make sure you include beverages like water, and ice for the champagne), our bouquet and Boutonniere were taken care of, we had an amazing photographer included in the package. We had been working with Jess and Yeliz for about a year prior to the wedding and they planned the perfect day for us and our families. Half of our wedding party was traveling from Hawaii and the other half from New York, so there was a lot to plan. The Hytch took so much of the stress of wedding planning off our shoulders and created an absolutely flawless day. They even managed to create a traditional Hawaiian lei that my husband wore for the ceremony. They went above and beyond! Our day on 8/10/2019 was at the beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake. The Hytch created an amazing set up in a wooded area with delicious donuts and champagne. The ceremony was over a small hill on the shore of the lake. We had an unexpected delay and the entire staff was flexible and handled the situation very professionally. They allowed us to stay longer and make sure our day was perfect. The set up was so thoughtful and spot on with what we envisioned with The Hytch. We worked with The Hytch for our Day of the Dead themed elopement and we could not have been happier! They completely exceeded our expectations and provided a really unique, seemlessly coordinated wedding day for us. She negotiated on the best pricing for us and found the most beautiful flowers and vintage rentals that brought traditional elements to our theme that made everything so special. Yeliz not only did a great job on the decor but also connected me with amazing photographers and a videographer. She also coordinated with my caterer and musician ahead of time which made everything flow with ease. When we first started our wedding journey with the hytch, we began speaking with Yeliz, the owner. She is very kind & soft spoken, EXTREMELY chill. We started our planning & she said she would reach out to me closer to the wedding for details. Ok great! Then we had someone named Addison reach out & take over the planning. We explained we had hired an outside photographer & that we hired the caterer already & would be doing a buffet style dinner. She said okay & made note of it. Then she said we would be hearing from the officiant-Jessica to go over the ceremony. We did but she literally took over the rest of the planning & was also the florist. She told us 2 days before the wedding that we had to hire someone to serve our buffet style dinner & someone to clean the food up afterwards even though cleaning was in our contract. I immediately called the caterer & SHE hired someone for us & paid out of her own pocket for it since the venue sprung it on us last minute. The overall setup was beautiful, the lack of communication with one person who knew what they were doing was awful. If you go with the hytch, I highly recommend being extra careful with the details & ask to speak to one person solely as the miscommunication, or lack thereof, was great on their part. read more

My wife and I traveled from Minnesota to Lake Tahoe to have our vows renewed and celebrate 30 years of marriage. We chose the "Elopement Adventure" package and we couldn't be happier with the service. The flowers were beautiful and the overall setup and decor was amazing. We wanted something small, intimate and very special. The Hytch provided a free phone consultation and made sure every was discussed prior to booking. Our officiant 'Juston' helped us to personalize our vows and incorporated into the ceremony. Juston made us feel very comfortable and even made us laugh. They had some champagne and donuts for us after the ceremony. Side note, they even sent us some recommendations for restaurants in the area. Yeliz is AMAZING.we eloped in June and she made the process so easy and was supper attentive in addressing all my concerns.we thought because of the pandemic we wouldn't get that wedding feel not exactly part of my dream wedding.then again things don't go as planned.regardless once we got to the location we were taken away from all the chaos and uncertainty.it was truly beautiful and I wouldn't have changed a thing.our photographer was Ashleigh and she was just AWSOME.she made to photo session so easy and effortless not to mention fun.i never got the sense that anyone on Yeliz's team were strangers you can feel they genuinely care about there work and that you are comfortable every step of the way.after our ceremony my husband said he'd like to get married again.its inevitable with the experience we had.id whole heartedly recommend The Hytch, if they had a higher star rating id give it to them. read more
