We originally opted for a courthouse wedding, but quickly realized we wanted to do more to honor our beautiful seven-year relationship and include the people who mean most to us. THIS is where The Hytch came in and created a PERFECT day for us, our daughters (one human, one canine), and 19 of our closest loved ones. From the start, Gina was a warm and knowledgeable coordinator. She covered every detail I hadn't thought of and provided creative options at every turn. She enthusiastically accommodated every unique idea I threw at her, as long as it was anything short of impossible! Leading up to the wedding, I spent most of my time pinning down the details of our music playlist, outfits, and vows. Any other stressor was out of mind and covered by Gina; at most, it just required a quick answer on what would work best for my husband and me. Day-of, though?! Oh my god. Beyond! This team KNOWS what they're doing. I showed up a little later than I had hoped (typical), and they supported me in regaining time to prepare like the true pros they are. Gina and Mackenzie handled EVERYTHING--most of it being invisible to me, I'm sure. They totally GOT my vision and created an event that I still can't believe was real. I honestly think they could become professional cat herders if they wanted to--they're that amazing! As our officiant, Darren helped ease our nerves with humor and liveliness. He took every note we gave him to heart and delivered a service that our guests said was THEIR FAVORITE CEREMONY EVER!!! Of course I'm biased, but our family and friends have a history of being brutally honest. I can tell you it was definitely our favorite wedding ever, though. And then there is the GLORY that is Ashleigh, our photographer. She took the art (I'm calling my wedding art!) we created with the help of Gina, Mackenzie, and Darren and turned it into something we can keep and share forever. You know how sometimes you wish you could SHOW your dreams to other people? If anyone can work magic like that, it's Ashleigh. On a slightly more grounded note, this was our first time doing a couples' shoot. I don't think I've had professional photos done since school, and of course I spent a lot of time fretting over how I would look. I went into this feeling a little anxious, a little insecure, and a lot clueless. If that's you: do NOT worry! Ashleigh has your back and will turn you into a supermodel. Like I said... magic. My final shout-out goes to the venue itself. For us, it being local was a huge plus. Reno is home, and Sierra Water Gardens is very close to our actual house! I'm usually very expressive, but there's just no point in trying to describe the beauty of the SWG spot. It's breath-taking. Thank you to the whole team for your incredible work and the shining personalities you shared with us. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate in what has become my favorite spot in Reno (and maybe the world?). There is a reason The Hytch has such good reviews. If I hear the words "wedding planning" ever again, I'm going to MAKE SURE The Hytch enters the conversation. They will give you the wedding you want, and deserve! Kylie and Ryan -- Married 4.18.26

Yeliz and our coordinator, Gina, were absolutely incredible. They are some of the kindest, most thoughtful, and genuinely caring people I've ever worked with. Throughout the entire process, they made my husband and me feel so comfortable and supported. They were always flexible with scheduling meetings, understanding with payments, and incredibly attentive whenever I had questions (or wedding-planning anxieties!). I always felt heard, reassured, and taken care of. Gina absolutely nailed my vision. I showed her a Pinterest board, and she brought it to life beyond anything I could have imagined. The florals were stunning -- and the team even made me smaller bouquets to take home afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch. The entire staff was professional, sweet, and so accommodating to both us and our families. The venue itself is pure magic. The Hytch spans the breathtaking Sierra Water Gardens and backs up to the Truckee River, which makes for the most gorgeous and unique setting. The moment I walked in, I was speechless. It was everything I had dreamed of and more. One of the biggest gifts they gave us was peace of mind. For an incredible value, you get the entire venue AND their team fully handles setup and breakdown of décor. That level of support allowed me to actually be present on my wedding day instead of worrying about logistics. I cannot overstate how much that meant to me. We did experience one small hiccup the day of (our officiant was double booked and arrived late), but The Hytch team handled it with such grace. They pivoted quickly and generously allowed our celebration to run later so we didn't lose any time. It meant so much that they cared about making our day whole. Overall, the entire process was smooth, joyful, and truly breathtaking. I'm beyond grateful for the care, creativity, and hard work that went into making our wedding so beautiful and perfect. I would recommend The Hytch a thousand times over -- and I will absolutely be finding another reason to celebrate there again.

There were some hiccups along the way, but overall, a pretty smooth event. Initially, I was not planning to have a day-of planner because my wedding was at Round Hill Pines, and staff does about 90% of set up. The only thing I really needed help with was decorations. I had enough family and friends willing to help; however, I was going to be 7 months pregnant during the wedding, and I didn't want the added stress of assigning duties to my family and friends and making sure they knew what time to be where, and what to do. Anyway, I hired Plan Your Day, and I was paired up with Sierra. Sierra is awesome. Super approachable, friendly, easy to communicate with, and great to work with. Unfortunately, I had to postpone my wedding due to the Caldor Fire. Sierra said they would roll over my payment to a future date, which was great. Then I am informed in early December 2021 that I'd need to provide a date for my rescheduled wedding by December 31, 2021, or I'd be charged $1,000, or my agreement would be terminated. This was not how the contract is worded. I was rescheduling my wedding, and the Event Rescheduling provision says, "If Client(s) reschedules the Event Date, written notice must be given to the Planner of Client(s)' intention to reschedule the Event Date and if known, identify the new date for the Event ("Rescheduled Event Date")." The contract says, "if known" and I didn't know what the new dates would be when we rescheduled because there was a huge fire in the area. Sharae informed me that she gave me a courtesy of 4 months to provide a new date for my wedding, but the Rescheduling provision does not say when I needed to provide the "rescheduled event date." The contract says, "If Planner is unavailable to perform the Services for the Rescheduled Event Date, then it will be deemed a Termination by Client(s) as outlined below." Either way, Sharae gave me 2 options: A.) Since you have asked for an extension through January or February to provide dates for a rescheduled 2023 wedding. Without a signed written agreement or modified agreement containing 1-2 dates that the wedding will be postponed to, on January 1, 2022, your contract will be considered terminated. But, a new contract will be introduced, signed, and an additional $1000 retainer fee will be applied towards your new event date. This new contract will be signed and due by January 1st to allow for the extended time frame to provide 1-2 rescheduled dates. B.) Without a signed written agreement or modified agreement containing 1-2 dates that the wedding will be postponed to, on January 1, 2022, your contract will be considered terminated and no additional services will be provided. OOOK....with my newly acquired mommy brain, basically, if I didn't have a signed agreement by New Years, I'd either lose my $2,200 that I had already paid or need to pay an additional $1,000. No thank you! I rescheduled my wedding before Sharae's New Years deadline. Fast-forward to 2023 and I'm working with Sierra again, which I was happy about. She was great to work with again, but she seemed to have a lot on her plate. I wasn't too concerned because I had been in close contact with all my vendors already, so I was mainly relying on Sierra for decorations and the ceremony. Unfortunately, Sierra informed me that she would not be there for my wedding, but she did provide me with an amazing replacement - Robin. I was a bit nervous because I never met Robin until the wedding rehearsal, and I didn't know what her background was in event coordination. Robin is superwoman! She handled the flow of the ceremony and kept the wedding events on schedule. A few of the place settings got mixed up, but it wasn't a huge deal. I was also supposed to have 2 people staff my wedding from Plan Your Day, but Sierra said the other person was not available and they could not find a replacement. The issue with that is I paid for 2 vendor meals for Plan Your Day, at $90 per head, and it was too late to deduct a meal. Would I recommend Plan Your Day to others? Unfortunately, I can't say I'd highly recommend Plan Your Day to others, as a business, but I would mention them as a worthwhile company to consider. Did Robin do a fantastic job? Absolutely! I'm not sure if she is a regular employee of Plan Your Day, but I'm glad she was there for my big day!

Given COVID and many other restrictions we decided to use a service that included everything in one. When you aren't one of those types of people who want absolute control over the details and don't want a big deal over ceremonies, I highly recommend this. LOTSW has a few different tiers of what they have to offer with their appropriate price points. Due to COVIID and our wedding being elopement style, Rev. Dorie was kind enough to let me customize my package. You will be keeping the price point of course, but she was nice enough to let me swap things like providing my own flowers and trading those fees for more photos instead. I have to say, she captured some of the most incredible moments and I could not have asked for anything better. We got married on 8.26.2021 and it was in the midst of everything bad in S. Lake Tahoe. We originally lost our spot we booked a year in advanced, (Emerald Bay) but Dorie did everything she could to make sure that she was able to find a spot that was still open and available so we did not lose out on the opportunity to get married since it was coming down to the wire. (2 days after we left everyone was evacuated) To chime in with people are saying in regards to Dorie and her attitude. Dorie is a professional and she is a bit older. She has been doing this a long time and she knows what she is doing and how she wants it done. Her issue is with people not listening to her, people not following the instructions they were told, people being in her personal space, and things like that. People tend to not realize that when she is taking pictures, they close in on her because they want to get the shot too and it leaves her no room to move and she has to tell people to please back up over and over. She has to remind people "this is what we are doing or this is where we are going" and after 2 or 3 times yes, the annoyance is on her face and apparent and I honestly don't blame her because it does take a long time. We arent natural models so yes, we dont always get the poses she is asking us to do or what she means and she does get frustrated, I could see she was a bit annoyed with me and my husband because we are not naturals LOL. Overall it was a wonderful experience and she did every and anything she could to make it a great day despite the natural disaster around us. I would highly recommend LOTSW to anyone.

It's easy to let paranoia and anxiety make you doubt your ability to execute a wedding during a year like this. When we raised concerns, she repeatedly got defensive and claimed she limits options to avoid "overwhelming" couples, yet rarely provided more than one choice. On the wedding day, coordination was poor. Guests were directed into the bridal space before the ceremony (the BRIDE had to ask family to be seated...), meaningful décor items provided by family weren't set out as instructed (items all labeled with an clear itemized list), and our photographer and DJ--not the planner--kept the timeline on track.
