I have never in my life felt as compelled to write a review such as this. Ok...start by saying we had the perfect wedding. However, this company is a disaster. 1. Came to drop off delivery an hour and a half late on wedding day. We all arrived at 9am as they told us they'd be there, they arrived at 10:30 am. 2. About half our tablecloths had holes in them About 25 of the 100 mason jars were so dirty the delivery guy apologized, and then my MIL took them home to wash them. 3. One of our heaters never turned on after they say their checked them all 4. Paid for set-up fees months ago, then they almost left saying they had no delivery fee on paperwork...after being an hour and a half late so we were supposed to set it up... 5. I have called them now twice and emailed them and have gotten no response. Please....if you are having a wedding or any important event...do not rent with them! Terrible, terrible, terrible...so bad even our venue managers said they will never recommend them to their future guests. Bummed to write this post, because we love supporting our local businesses...but if you want reliability, high quality, and no stress on your day...find a different company. read more

Eventmasters did a great job with my wedding rentals. I secured a private estate for my wedding in Glenbrook NV--I only had access to the space 1-day prior and upon seeing it for the first time, I had to figure out the layout while the crew was delivering and setting up. They worked with me and were very adaptable as I changed my mind a couple of times. They arrived right on time and had to hassle with a huge flight of stairs from the street to get it up to the deck where the wedding furniture was. I will say, that the farm tables I rented were pretty scratched up, however, i had table runners that covered a lot of it so it wasn't noticeable once the tables were decorated. One farm table leg fell off after the crew left, and we didn't have the tools to fix it--fortunately we had an extra full-length linen and table that worked in its' place for my guests to sit at instead, and Eventmasters refunded my money for that table rental. My recommendation is to inspect all of the tables and make sure nothing is broken and everything is structurally sound before the crew leaves so you don't have to scramble to make sure you have seating for everyone. Other than that, I was very happy with my choice to rent from Eventmasters--their pricing is very reasonable and their inventory is widely varied for tastes of all kinds. Thank you! read more

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR WEDDING. Their service was absolutely despicable, but worst than that, they (the owner Rich Wilson in fact) DID NOT CARE when we voiced our grievances or make any attempt to make amends. Let me explain. To preface things, we set up our event 2 months ahead of time. On a Tuesday, 4 days before the wedding, I received a voicemail from someone named Christa, asking if we could change our pickup date from Monday to Tuesday. I called back and left a message explaining we could not, as it was a rental house. No one called me back, so I had to take the initiative to make a second call in order to explain the situation. Christa suggested that perhaps they could pick it up the evening of the wedding instead. This was certainly an inconvenience, as I knew I might need to rush my guests and wedding party to clear tables, but I agreed to have the rental equipment picked up "after 7 o' clock." The day of wedding, I have not heard anything from them, and I have no idea when they are going to arrive. I call to get a voicemail and no call back. I wait an hour and call again. Nothing. Finally, they arrive within the timeframe and explain that we will need to set everything else up ourselves--they aren't even going to help carry the equipment. Come our wedding night, things are running very late, and as 7pm is drawing near, I realize we haven't even served the cake. I rush to tell my wedding party we need to break down the tables and get everything cleaned up to honor MY HALF of the verbal agreement with Christa. My guests are forced to eat their cake standing, and my party is put under additional stress rushing to get all the equipment out to the driveway. Next, it's 10pm, and no one has shown up. No one has called. At this point, my wife and I are stressing out on our wedding night--one of the most important nights of our lives--and wondering if the equipment is going to be picked up at all. Again, no one has even called to leave a voicemail. We have to be out of the house in the morning, and we are wondering if we are going to be charged by the rental house for leaving a bunch of stuff in the owner's driveway. Finally, in the morning, we leave them another voicemail. No response. No call back. Luckily, around 11am, right before we have to leave the rental, their people show up to pick up the equipment. They don't speak with us or make any attempts at apology. In fact, the drivers look straight-up stoned. My wife and I are incredibly disappointed in their service. Their lack of communication caused an incredible about of stress during an already incredibly stressful time, and took away from our wedding day. We gave the owner, Rich Wilson, one last chance to make amends by reaching out to him personally. I left him both voicemails and emails. He didn't care at all apparently, as it has now been a month since our wedding day, and like his employees, he is unresponsive. If you can find any other party supplier in the area, go with them instead. These people are disorganized, incompetent, and heartless. read more

I would highly recommend you find a different company. Sadly, they messed up my order and although they assured me it would be fixed in time for my wedding, they did not fix it. I had ordered two wood chairs for the groom and bride table, however I was given two white chairs. They did nothing to fix this, but assured me that I would have the two wood chairs provided the morning of my wedding. Event Masters? More like Event Disasters. We rented our tables, chairs and table linens from event masters. I asked them what time they were going to drop off , they couldn't give me a time so I asked them to call me when they were on their way, they said they could do that and they would add a note on the order. Drop off day we get back to the cabin and all the stuff was dropped off in the front of the house with no call. I look at the linens and they were the wrong colors, my worst nightmare as a bride because they wernt even a color I could use it was a mustard yellow color I originally asked for or ivory. So we called other places and had to get linens elsewhere. The linens were unused and returned as is. When I called and called for a refund I basically got the run around for 5 days. When they finally got back to me they were refusing my refund, I checked my account and noticed I was overcharged. I ordered 8 linens at the price of $10, they charged me $188! When I tried to call them back 5 times to figure it out my phone call was ignored. I would not recommend this company. They do get 2 stars because the chairs and tables were fine. read more

Kurt and Larissa did an amazing job of helping us put on "the best wedding ever". We had our ceremony and outdoor reception at the Lower River BBQ area of Truckee Regional Park. There were 160 plus guests at our wedding. Given the Lake Tahoe Ironman was using the same site early the next AM we had a very tight window of time to work with in regards to setting up and breaking down. Kurt and his crew went above and beyond the call of duty / arriving early AM to set up our huge tent / tables / chairs / ceremony site / etc etc and returning at 10pm to break it all back down. Kurt and Larissa were easy and enjoyable to work with. Bonus points that the company is based in Truckee and double bonus points that Kurt grew up in Truckee - local knowledge will always work to your advantage. I came here and got helium a few years ago (before the helium shortage this year) and rented a tank for a b-day party I was organizing. The staff was helpful and the rate was good. I called to try and do the same thing this summer and the person on the phone was very nice and explained to me the helium shortage situation...while it sucked because I needed a ton of balloons, I understood. I had to go to a shop in TC and just get balloons filled there and it was the standard balloon+fill charge I've always seen at party supply stores...in fact, the rate per balloon was about the same as if you bought your own mini-tank at walmart. Of course it's cheaper to rent a tank, but with the shortage, I was just glad I called before I headed to the shops. For Xmas eve dinner this year we were hosting 15 people and I realized we didn't even have chairs for 15 people! It's a little tacky to ask everyone to bring a side and a chair, so I realized I should look into rentals. Found the online ordering to be convenient and was able to get the chairs for $1 a piece, pick them up the next day at their spot in Truckee, and return them after xmas. I know these guys do lots of weddings and big functions because I see their delivery trucks all over town, but for my 15 chairs they were very nice, professional, and helpful...even for an order that was just under $15! Also, when I was returning my chairs at the back loading area, the guys were there right away to help unload. I walked thru the back of the store to get to the counter and check in the return and saw there were TONS of party supplies lining the walls. In the front waiting area/show area they appear to have a limited selection, but the storage area is packed full of fun stuff! It's like Party America in reno, but the stuff just isn't on display (it is online, tho), so ask them if you are looking for decorations because they have a ton of stuff. I realize this sounds like I might work for this place, but seriously, I read some of the other reviews and thought I'd share my experience (like I thought they didn't have many party supplies either until I was returning the chairs...). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR WEDDING!! We got married in Incline Village, NV in August 2019 and this company was the absolute worst vendor hire that we hired. Let me tell you ALL of the horrible things that happened. 1. When I showed up to meet with Christa in the Truckee office she arrived super late after I called her confirming that she would be in the office when they opened. 2. My meeting with Christa for specialty linens was done 5 MONTHS BEFORE my wedding. She said that they can get the linens I loved. I sent in my final linen order about 1 month before the wedding and she said that they can no longer get those linens. Come to find out she "assumed" this would be no problem but didn't do her lack of diligence to confirm early she was unable to get them in time. 3. ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING I get a call from one of the ladies in the office (not sure who) stating that they cannot get the custom $50 cake table that I ordered! She later admitted that the deliver guy "forgot to load it in the truck" which was B.S. as they could have drove to the linen company in Reno to get it before the wedding started. 4. When I went to look at the Ivory linens in the reception area they were all SO WRINKLED. They looked terrible and now I do not have any good photos of my reception area. 4. The pipe and drape backdrop that they provided they did not set up!! They dropped it off and left! Christa said "well good thing you hired your planner to set it up". THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! Maybe they'll do a good job for you, but we never got the chance to find out. Our wedding was rained out and they never had to deliver the ~$1000 of equipment we ordered. Nevertheless, the kept the FULL payment and refused any opportunities to work out a partial refund or some other solution. They're nice enough people, but it's hard not to think that they are willing to nickel and dime you, and profit off you in any way they can. We used Event Masters for our wedding last summer, and it was not a good experience. First off, do NOT get the bar or the bar riser or the table cloth that goes with it. The bar riser was really not sturdy, the bar tender had to jerry rig some stuff under the legs to get it be steady, then the cloth that is supposed to cover it actually just attached with velcro which was falling off! We had to duct tape it to get it to stay! However, these things could have been ignored if they didn't have such HORRIBLE customer service! We got a call the day after our wedding saying they were missing 100 forks. After looking around the house and not finding them immediately my husband and I went out and went through ALL of the garbage. No forks! I called our caterer and he explained that there never were any dessert forks! He'd had to hand wash all of the salad forks to be used before the dessert went out. I called and explained this to Event Masters and they again insisted that we had the forks and it would be approximately $400 if they didn't get them back. Two days after the wedding my mom went out and again went through all the garbage. No sign of the forks. Event Masters then sent someone out that kept saying "well, this is a sh***y situation" and "at least your wedding was nice"... which it was, but it was also expensive and another $400 was going to hike up the cost! Eventually we had to leave the rental house, so we wouldn't be charged for staying late. I was so upset and could not figure out where the forks went! We got a call on our way home saying that "oops" Event Masters had had the forks all along. They'd fallen underneath the linens. What's even worse is that they didn't apologize (although they now insist they did, but I had the phone on speaker so I have witnesses)! Are you kidding me?!?!? When I wrote a letter a couple months ago complaining they were defensive and said they had to give us a chance to find the forks and they were doing us a favor! BUT WE NEVER HAD THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! How is that doing us a favor?! I cannot believe that when they realized things were missing they didn't thoroughly go through everything that had come in. I don't remember if there were other rental places up there, but if there are, I highly recommend going with them!!! And if there aren't, make them count everything when it's picked up, so you don't also go through this stress right after your wedding! read more

We rented equipment for an evening event from EventMasters. They informed us that they would be calling to schedule the pickup in advance the following day. They did not schedule the pickup with us as promised and came when we were not home. Since we kept some of the equipment secured inside, they were unable to make a complete pickup. So they ended up charging us again (after we already paid for delivery/pickup once) to pick up the remaining items. We've used them many times before and had no issues, but I'm disappointed with the level of customer service in this instance. read more

Eventmasters did an amazing job with the rentals and lighting for our wedding! Everyone that we worked with from the company, whether it was sales, billing or the set-up/tear-down crew was incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. Our venue was a family cabin on the lake, which came with a set of challenges including limited space for 50-ish guests and many flights of stairs to carry rentals up and down. The crew from Eventmasters was so accommodating with all of this, as well as when we needed to make last minute changes to the order. The guys came out for a site visit before the special day, and were very thorough in laying out our different options for lighting, equipment set-up, etc. It was obvious that they had lots of experience and that we were in good hands. Our day-of coordinator, Tory, was from the affiliated Tahoe Bride company, which made all of the preparations go even smoother. Delivery and set up went smoothly on the day before the wedding, and everything looked absolutely gorgeous (especially the great job that they did with the lights). Same story for pick up on the day after, they made the whole process easy. I really recommend working with them! read more

They have a pretty limited selection of party supplies, not to mention overpriced. I came here hoping to buy some balloons for birthday party. A sign on the door said that they were out of helium. I asked if I could just purchase some regular rubber balloons figuring that I could just blow them up myself. I was told that they were going to be $.25 apiece regardless of whether or not they had helium in them. I said that I thought that this is silly and was wondering if they could discount them. The girl rudely told me no. Really?? I'm going to purchase 4 plain rubber balloons for a $1. So much for choosing to go to small business rather than going to CVS or Walgreens. My husband and I used event masters for our wedding last week at Granlibakken. When I first booked with event masters (which was a while ago) the lady I dealt with was so rude and rushed to get me off the phone after every time I asked a question. Then it came down to a month before the wedding and I was nervous that I was going to have a disaster like some people have stayed. HOWEVER, I worked with Larissa and she is a incredible! Our wedding was last week through the rain and winds of the beginnings of the Sierra winter storms. Eventmasters was so accommodating of our changing needs to plan for the weather. They arrived early and helped set up. After they left we realized we had no arch/alter. We had talked about it but we had failed to finalize it on our order. We called about 3 hrs before the wedding. They had one available and had it to us in less than 30 minutes. They were amazingly accommodating and easy to work via email and phone. (We lived out of the immediate area). The folks at Eventmasters were so helpful! We had our wedding this past Saturday, and Larissa was my contact. They allowed us to rent everything we needed the day before the wedding and then came and picked it up the day after. Because of the snowstorm that occurred, we had to shovel snow to make room for our wedding arch. They saw how much there was to do and actually came back on our wedding day to put it together (which was an extra trip up the snowy mountain). There was a miscommunication about tables and linens, and it was corrected immediately. We used EventMasters for equipment rentals for our wedding outside of Truckee. The company was easy to work with and convenient for the area and location of our wedding. Delivery before and pickup after was easy, and the staff was overall pleasant to work with. The only issue (which we've heard about this company before) is that they have a tendency not to properly check/maintain equipment and, therefore, have some faulty rentals. Two of the heat lamps we rented did not work, which was unfortunate given the cold night during the reception. EventMasters reimbursed us without any hassle, however it was unfortunate it happened in the first place. read more

We used Event masters to help cater our wedding this past summer. The staff at their office is mostly helpful- Jamie is great, while other individuals we spoke with, not so much. They dropped our stuff off to the wedding on-time, but pick-up was a problem- they said they would show up at night, but they didn't - we had to be out of our venue (cleaned up by 830 AM), but they only showed up ~815 ... we were there. It made for a stressful morning-after. Further, a bear got into some of the stuff that night (it was an outdoor wedding), and a few pieces got broken, so we had to pay for the damages. All in all, everything was perfectly fine - nothing extraordinary, nothing terrible. I would recommend them. read more

Perhaps it's because we weren't giving them an exorbitant amount of money or planning a huge event, but I found the customer support from Event Masters a little lackluster. Not only did I find them to be unfriendly over the phone, they were not on top of any of our requests. On the day of our wedding event, it was too windy for them to put our tents up so they had to try again later (understandably). I asked if we could add walls to our order and the guys helping at the site said it would be fine and they added it for us. They were coming back the next day anyway, so it didn't sound like it would be too difficult to bring the walls. I then later see a charge for $124 and I can't tell if this includes additional delivery or not so i email and ask them but never hear back. In fact, I had to email them repeatedly for a few things. So, I mean, the equipment they rented was fine, but the communication just could probably be a little better. read more

PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! There are countless issues we had from damaged and broken tables, chairs and heater not working to our main issue being the safety they put my family in setting up a tent improperly! They set up a tent after promising me if it was snowing they would NOT due to safety! They went ahead and set up the tent while it was snowing and DID NOT put up all the proper support posts! In the first 12 hours of installation, the tent was caving in and we could NOT go under it in fear of it collapsing and killing someone! I have a 6 year old too and this tent was right up against our home where our sliders opened right to it! A child could walk out at any point! Krista the sales manager was apologizing profusely and said she would send someone immediately to fix AND REFUND US! Well 4 days later after nonstop snow, highways being closed all over and calls to take the tent down, they finally get it down. I email to follow up on refund and get a response from Krista that NOW she doesn't feel comfortable doing so and would forwarded the email to the owner who is still on vacation in LA and YET to respond to anyone over thanksgiving! Well now it's been over 4 weeks with NO correspondence or follow up and still the same response that the owner is on vacation! Beyond unprofessional company! Do NOT use them. There are countless wonderful companies all through the area, unfortunately this company sold to a new owner and they just DO NOT CARE about anything on their products to the safety of their customers! I interacted with event masters mostly via email for almost 4 months up until our event date. I added and deleted items weekly and the 2 women who always returned my emails kept track of everything and always followed up to make sure my order was correct. The drop off crew was great and set everything up at our venue according to our directions. Everything worked and the dishes, tables, chairs looked great. The only minor issue was the late night pick up crew (however, the fact they had a late night pick up was great) who left items at the venue overnight (which was a public outdoor park, so anyone could have stolen them and we would have been charged) and also threw away some expensive items that belonged to us. Eventually we found them in their dumpster unharmed, but it was a stressful 24 hrs trying to track them down. Overall I had a good experience and would use them again if I did another event in the area. read more

Had a wonderful wedding weekend up in Truckee with our family and friends-- this was the only part of the whole wedding weekend that really stressed us out. Although coordination ahead of our rental was great, everything involved in actually receiving the rental was pretty terrible. We coordinated times to arrange delivery with them (and honestly would have been fine if they communicated a window of time, rather than a specific appointment), and they showed up 3.5 hours later, blaming traffic and not answering phones the entirety of the time-- not a big deal in any other situation, but we had made sacrifices and left family events to be at the venue to receive the order, and our family members were later inconvenienced and kept from activities in order to stay to receive the order later... so that was really, really unfortunate. As far as the actual rental order goes, our ivory linens didn't match (shades), we received a glass that was cracked (and several that had to be re-washed), and were told in contract to "rinse" dishes but then upon delivery told to wash clean every item. The most disappointing part (esp for my now husband who carefully planned every detail of the dance party!) was that the disco ball was delivered without the most critical part (the pin spot)... and when we called the morning of the wedding, the staff could only tell us that "they didn't have any in stock"-- this could have been communicated earlier and we would have found other alternatives no problem. We consider ourselves very flexible, easy going people. We weren't going to throw a hissy fit over something as silly as rental items. But man, they added some serious stress to our weekend. In retrospect, I would spend much more money to go with a different company. Absolutely not worth the anxiety for any couple trying to enjoy their time with family and friends. read more

Our cabin and its yard were turned into a magical place by Eventmasters. On June 27th our daughter married at the Tahoe Donner Lodge. While we were finishing up arrangements for the evening wedding and dinner-dance there, Eventmasters came to our cabin to set up for the next day's brunch. The EventMasters crew came to our house and with great care for making everything look perfect, they set up A 20' X 20' tent and a 10' x 20' tent,and tables, and chairs to match a sketch I had left at the cabin with a friend who was there to greet the staff. They brought tables and chairs up a flight of stairs to our deck, as well. Their linens are beautiful as are the glasses and the dinnerware we borrowed. As a special consideration, they let us have the napkins and silverware early in the week so that we could make up the silverware bundles for the brunch, instead of at a mad rush the morning after the wedding. All of the equipment we rented from EventMasters was in beautiful shape and the set up and tear down was done with great care and consideration. While the brunch was scheduled from 11-2, many people stayed until sunset to sit under the tent and enjoy an afternoon together. read more
