My fiance and I were so impressed after the initial consultation and knew we had to have her as our planner. Right after we booked OUATE, my fiance and I had a meeting with Jessica and basically told her everything we wanted, what we didn't want and what we dreamed of having but didn't think we could afford. She also had us fill out a questionnaire to get a sense of our style, get to know us and get an idea of what we envision for our dream wedding. After reviewing everything we gave her, she created a design board with everthing we had talked about. I loved how we got to go thourgh and point out what we liked and what we didn't like. This gave us a great sense of what our wedding was going to look like. Since I had a very hard time picking a theme and staying with that direction, this really helped me get on track and focus on one thing at a time. This also really helped me stop stressing and feeling overwhelmed and let me enjoy the wedding planning process. As a bride, I knew I wanted to be involved in the fun stuff but not the boring, budget related stuff. Jessica was amazing at handling all the stuff I didn't want to do or did not know how to do. We gave her our total budget and she planned around that very well and helped us stay on track. She also did all of the orders (which were a ton since we had our wedding at private estate and had to bring everything in) and delt with the most of our vendors. She has a great working relationship with a ton of wedding vendors in Reno that she was able to get things done and get them done fast! And she had wonderful recommendations for our wedding vendors. We loved them all! During the whole wedding planning process Jessica and her sister, Cassie kept us on track and made sure we were getting things done when they needed to be done. I loved how they took all of my ideas and wishes and made them happen without any questions. The whole time, they were professional but so nice and fun to work with! It made wedding planning a lot of fun! The day of the wedding, I had absolutley nothing to worry about. I sat in the house and got ready while Jessica, Cassie and her team set everything up and dealt with all the vendors. The wedding was not too big but the whole production of it was a lot! We had a ton of flowers, a fire pit, a dessert bar, photo booth, a lounge and a ton of details such a signage and personalized items. Jesssica and her team were so organized and executed everything PERFECTLY! It was above and beyond anything I had even imagined. They took my vision to the next level and made it better than I could had ever wished for. Jessica and Cassie kept the wedding on track the whole night and everything went off witthout a hitch. My husband and I nor our wedding party or family had to lift a finger, it was amazing! We got to spend our time enjoying ourselves while OUATE delt with everything else. And don't get me wrong, an average reception isn't necessarily a bad thing, but a wonderful wedding reception is a wonderful thing. When your guests are dancing to beat the band at the end of the evening, when they don't wanna go home, cuz it seems like the fun's never gonna stop, when that happens you know you had a great DJ or DJs as far as Katie and Matt are concerned, cuz you get two for the price of one. Vesta and I have photographed a lotta weddings and wedding receptions and we've seen our fair share of DJs and Katie and Matt are among the best in Reno. And they're fun people too. So, you can't go wrong with them. And it's really nice when your DJ is personable, friendly and actually cares about the bride and groom and their guests. And it's really nice when they keep the reception rolling along the way it's supposed too. Vesta and I photographed one wedding where the DJ forgot the bouquet and garter toss. Another where the DJ didn't do the bouquet toss till after most people had gone home, cuz he was so boring and there were only two girls left to catch the flowers. We've worked with Katie and Matt twice and both times they steered the reception along without issue, while staying in tune with the bride and her wishes, even though her wishes may change throughout the evening. Like us, Katie and Matt put the bride first. They are there to do a job and they work for the same person we do, the bride. Her wishes come first. It's her wedding, her special day. Not all DJs know this. Sadly, neither do all photographers. We know it and one of the reasons we like working with Katie and Matt so much is because they know it too. PS. There is an indoor space and an outdoor space as well as a covered area which sort of combines both. My friend's wedding utilized all of them briefly. I liked all the small touches like signs and decor and I appreciated that they had some sun umbrellas, unfortunately they all had holes in them. We were looking forward to using the photo booth as well but it was not working. There was a miscommunication by the staff and it caused the wedding to begin much later than planned but they allowed my friend more time at the venue because the mistake was theirs so it all worked out in the end. If you are looking at using this venue, I tried to include as many base photos as possible so you can get a good idea of what you will be working with. I would recommend it for smaller, more casual weddings only. There is limited parking and there are only one or two staff members at most so you and your wedding party will be responsible for a lot of what needs doing. If you are on a budget, this could be a great option, but bear in mind you will have to use their designated caterer for any food. Also, if the lavender blooming is important to you, be sure to check that you are scheduling your event for the right time of the year. I told them the color scheme I wanted, and told them I wanted unique flowers--not your typical bouquet of roses or anything too boho. They did the most eclectic and colorful set up for our elopement. Absolutely stunning! For our party, they were also able to hang some different colored curtains on the booths and bring in games like giant Jenga. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that there seemed to some communication points missed between people handling different requests (which were always quickly rectified on follow-up), and on the day of the party, one of the games we planned for was double-booked accidentally. I didn't even know what I wanted because I'm not familiar with flowers or their names, but after sending her some inspo pics and color pallets, she understood what I was going for. On the day of the wedding, she created a gorgeous flower arch where my husband and I had our first look. I couldn't have pictured it any better. I also added 2 flower crowns last minute to the order and Brandie was able to make them even cuter than the inspo pics I sent her! She even helped me put on the flower crown, which I thought was very sweet of her. Everyone was complimenting the flowers and many guests even asked to take the center pieces home!
