My husband and I held our wedding at Taharaa Mountain Lodge, and I only have amazing things to say about the venue, the staff, and our overall experience! The lodge itself is unbelievable - it is luxurious yet homey at the same time, and makes for a wonderful mountain getaway for you and your guests. Vicky, the lodge manager, was so helpful with everything from accommodating for off-hours check-ins, any and all room needs, and of course, cooking delicious handmade breakfast every morning! Kathy, the event coordinator, was just awesome to work with. She truly made the wedding planning process easier and less stressful. She was communicative, detail oriented, and always willing to hop on a call or set up a meeting for wedding planning details. Her expertise in this field really came to light throughout our wedding planning process, and it was very much appreciated. The Twin Owls Steakhouse staff was professional and helpful, and the food is amazing! What a wonderful place to just get away and relax! The rooms were so very comfortable, clean, and cozy with balconies that overlooked Estes Park and the snowcapped peaks! The breakfasts were delicious and what a treat to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the views!! Coffee was brought to our room every morning at 7:00 a.m. We did not eat at the Twin Owl Steak House, which is on the property, but heard that it was very good. We will definitely be staying here again, as it is away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park and just a wonderful place to stay!! read more

We stayed one night in this lovely B&B, and it was delightful. You can tell it's run by a family, and they are so responsive to guests' needs. When making my reservation, they were friendly on the phone and followed up with an email--and Terisa responds really quickly to emails. Josh met me at the door as I drove up and showed me to my room. The room wasn't over-the-top fancy, but it was comfortable and cute. Our balcony overlooked the mountains, and there was a cute sitting area with a fireplace. That night, we attended a wedding reception at Taharaa, and it was so much fun. The food was amazing, and the service was spot-on. The next morning, we had breakfast there (which was included in the price), and the stuffed French toast was delicious! I would certainly recommend Taharaa to friends for a lovely weekend getaway. read more

If you are looking for the perfect place for a wedding, an anniversary getaway, a birthday celebration, or family reunion, this is the place for you. The staff at Taharaa Mountain Lodge are all incredible. They are attentive, courteous, and friendly. One of my best friends got married this past weekend, and her family rented out all 18 rooms. It was the perfect place for everyone to spend a few days, and really enjoy celebrating the bride & groom. The rooms are spacious and all include a fireplace. The suite was huge with a sitting room, large bathroom (huge bathtub and shower), and beautiful bedroom. All the rooms face over the beautiful Estes Park valley. The wedding ceremony took place on the outdoor, covered deck. It was a gorgeous backdrop for a beautiful winter wedding. The reception was held inside their great room, which was gorgeous with all its large windows. Each morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast, with the breakfast potato boats being my personal favorite. They also hosted a cocktail hour in the evening. Fantastic venue! As a provider of live music & event production, I highly recommend Taharaa Mountain Lodge for weddings, parties and special events. The manager & owners (Tarisa, Metta, Josh & Thom) are a joy to work with, and the setting itself is stunning! From an event production point of view, this venue has a perfect layout for an smooth & cohesive flow from one event portion to the next. The deck is a great space for cocktails, complete with sweeping views. The main hall itself has plenty of room for full dining room, bar, plus our large dance band with horns, and still leaves a big dance floor to boot! All this surrounded by large windows so you can take in the stunning setting of Estes Valley while celebrating. This was a wonderful venue for our daughter's wedding in November. We had the whole lodge for the wedding party for the weekend, which made it seem like a great house party! The breakfasts were delicious, and the management was perfect, and made us feel so at home. They made the wedding go smoothly and the whole weekend was beautiful. This was a very comfortable and peaceful place to stay in Estes Park. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were very clean. I was disappointed by the gas fireplace... It had two-inch tall blue flames, and was about as romantic as a stove top. One of the staff members offered to move us to another room, but its fireplace operated the same way. Overall, I felt like it was a little pricey for what you get... But it's a fine place to stay. read more

Stayed here over the weekend & I 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the mountains. Great guest service, accommodations, and close to many great destinations! The owners treated us like royalty; we were able to pick what we wanted to eat for breakfast and they made it on the spot. An added bonus is the restaurant that is attached to the the lodge, Twin Owls Steakhouse, it has an amazing menu to choose from, tasty wine, and a great staff! Another thing is you cannot beat the views, there's balcony seating at the restaurant or your room. Don't pass on staying at this place or you'll regret it! read more

This is a LONG overdue review but we had an AMAZING time at Taharaa a few years ago. My husband and I stayed there several years ago when we got engaged. The lodge itself is so charming and there is an evening wine hour for everyone to get together (if you're interested). The breakfasts were great and we loved eating them outside. We stayed for a long weekend in a very nice suite with a wonderful tub. My daughter and I enjoyed the breakfast each morning before heading out on our adventures. Massages were arranged for for us without problem. I'm looking forward to a return trip and the continued improvements to the facility. Nothing bad to say, one of the nicer places to stay. Outside of town,.. your out of the congestion of Estes Park. The lodge sits on a steep hillside overlooking Estes valley, all rooms face north with balconies. You can find less expensive lodging but if your looking for a place to relax in comfort try here. Taharaa Mountain Lodge offered the perfect place for my boyfriend and me to stay and treat ourselves while we were in Estes Park for a friend's wedding. While not over-the-top, the lodge offered comfortable, clean, and beautiful accommodations. Our room overlooked the mountains, with our own balcony we sat on and take in the sunset. It was a beautiful place to fall asleep and wake-up... and pass time. The staff was extremely helpful and patient, answering any questions we had and offering great suggestions for trails, restaurants, and driving routes. Most impressive, we were greeted each morning with a freshly made delicious breakfast, accompanied by big, endless mugs of coffee. To top it off, we enjoyed a massage in the spa (as part of a package we purchased) from a masseuse that perfectly met our wishes, followed by a relaxing dip in the outdoor hot tub. I wish there was a way to give them more stars! We just loved our choice for our wedding at Taharaa! Terissa and Metta do a wonderful job of helping set everything up, getting everyone where they should be during the rehearsal and the wedding day, and just keeping the event going smoothly. We chose to rent all of the lodge out for family and friends, and that made the weekend even more special, because it was private and felt like a huge celebration. My guests were stunned by the views, location, and even the breakfasts each morning. Our wedding day was truly magical and perfect, and I think a lot of that had to do with this venue and the people working there. I recommend it to anyone and everyone! read more

Had my wedding here last weekend and everyone really enjoyed themselves! The wedding went as planned and was a beautiful day! The rooms were all very clean, unique, and each had a balcony with a gorgeous view. Breakfast was different each morning and always tasty! The room was clean which gives it one star. The staff at the Taharaa is extremely rude, the room wasn't worth the money and the food wasn't that great. My husband and I stayed there on our wedding night. They did not do anything for us and were very rude to my sister-in-law and I the morning of our wedding. The patio was under construction, which they never let us know. The room was very small and the bed was uncomfortable. We paid around $200 for this room and probably would have been happier at a Holiday Inn. read more

Wine and snacks in the evening is very relaxing. Comfortable common areas. We were there for a meeting we planned. Have never had such a smooth experience. A perfect venue for a meeting, wedding, or vacation. The staff go out of their way to be friendly and accommodating, both with planning the meeting and their attention to detail throughout our stay. My husband and I just spent 4 nights at the Taharaa and we couldn't be happier! The lodge is comfortable and clean, as are the rooms; the breakfasts are great, and the staff couldn't be nicer! Everyone has bent over backward to make sure our stay has been a happy one. I don't know what was up with the 1-star commenter (from 2008!), but we've been thrilled with our stay and plan to become repeat customers. The lodge has recently changed ownership and the new owners are wonderful, friendly, helpful people! read more
