Im a Coolidge native, and i am not impressed with Tags AT ALL. While some of the waitresses are amazing, and the local brick a brack is nice...the food is...well. standard. There is nothing at Tags that simply jumps on your taste buds.....Nothing that really grabs interest. read more

This was not good food. The eggs were undercooked and the bacon overcooked. I could not get anyone's attention to tell them of the problems and when someone finally did come over we were almost done. I can make better breakfast myself. read more

If your travels take you through Coolidge and you're hungry give Tag's a try. I've been there five times now, Four for breakfast and once for an evening meal. Great food and lots of it. Tag's could have been taken off a page Old Route 66 history its colorful, clean and has that small town charm. i have been here twice once for breakfast and once for dinner. the breakfast was average. For dinner i had enchiladas and taco it was the worst mexican food i have ever had. the sauce tasted like the dollar store sauce and the enchilada had green olives on it, you dont put green olives on that kind of food. the silverware was dirty and there were flys buzzing all around. the waitress was ok , but i won't be going back. read more

Greasy spoon diner in the middle of the desert! These type of places are kind of like coney islands back east that have great breakfest's and lunch items. I highly suggest the Chicken fried steak, it may take a few days off your life in the end but it's well worth it. Yeah, it's a small town place with lots of regulars, but that adds to the charm. Tag's is a great place to lunch after visiting Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. It was packed with locals at 1:00 P.M. on a Friday in November. We considered this a sign. All of the tables were full but they seated us (4 people) with locals who proceeded to help us in ordering. Everything was hot and delicious with friendly, sassy, speedy service. Our new friends turned us on to watching skydiving at the Eloy airport. We watched for 45min and saw at least 100 people dive. This will be on our "A" tour for visitors. read more

Finally cool enough to take the bike out!! Decided to head out to Coolidge for what I hoped would be a great breakfast... so happy to say we were not disappointed! Went out this past Sunday, we arrived about 11:30, there were four of us and we all had breakfast. Each of us had something different and we all VERY MUCH enjoyed our meals. It took a little longer for the food to come out, but when it did, it was hot & fresh, and worth the wait! Our server was friendly and made sure we always had drink re-fills. As it has been said, this is not a fancy restaurant, but a down home café with 'feel-good' comfort food. I, for one, am looking forward to a return visit! read more

Don't get suckered into their "daily specials". Ordered what was offered as a taco and a flat enchilada plate. The "enchilada" was nothing more than a fat patty of fried instant masa covered in canned enchilada sauce with a few shreds of cheese sprinkled on top. The meal came with a side of rice and beans. The rice looked and tasted like a boxed rice mix. The taco was okay but nothing to write home about. At $7.99, this "special" was way overpriced. read more

This place is awesome. Yes it is older. Yes it is a no frills ambiance and the interior is fairly basic. Unless that is what you are coming for.... if you want EXCELLENT food at a fair price... this is the place. I sometimes have issues with eating out because of the quality of products used that don't agree with me because I am a gastric bypass subject. I have NEVER had anything ordered from here bother me. We have come for anything from breakfast to dinner and every single time it has been fantastic. If you are driving by, don't let the appearance of numerous motorcycles out front "scare" you off. They are there because it is a frequent stop for those taking scenic rides thru the area. They are not the "big bad scary illegal biker gang" types. This is definitely a family type place. This is a very small town so there are many of the customers that are there like clockwork even to just sit around drink coffee and catch up on the past week's events and happenings. My absolute favorite place to eat when we eat out! I don't like to eat at restaurant chains and love anything history...so this place is golden to me :) The atmosphere is always cozy and friendly and the food has never been less than awesome! My favorites are the biscuits and gravy and the all you can eat fish fry on Fridays. My husband loves their burgers and fries. I purposely look to shop in Coolidge just so we can eat at Tag's Cafe! read more

There are several cafes out there but Tag's is by far the best small town cafe around. People from near and far stop by here just too get something great too eat and past the time with the owners, and they are real down to earth people, The service there is always top notch. If you want good food at a great price, visit Tag's next time you are in the area. read more

After attending the "Running of the Gourds" at the Pima County Fairgrounds we drove into Coolidge looking for a Mom & Pop type cafe. As we drove by Tag's we knew this was the place as there was no place to park. We parked a block away in an empty parking lot. There was only one table open when we went in at high noon. of course a lot of these folks were like us, from out of town. I ordered the Grande Chimi that said you will not leave here hungry. I should have know that was a fair warning. It was the biggest I've ever seen and one of the best Mexican plates I've had in years. There is nothing bad about this one. My wife had the Tag's Special Mexican dish that was actually a combination plate of various Mexican dishes and it was also hard to beat. I've been looking for really good Mexican food in Tucson but all of the reviews left me in doubt. Go to Tag's in Coolidge, you will not be disappointed. And on top of that this place was a zoo and I was sure our food would not be hot as the server was almost running trying to keep up the food deliveries and order taking. But our food arrived piping hot. This place has been Tag's since 1955, it was some other name from 1944 to 1955. If you want an old 50's cafe....go to Tag's. Oh, and they serve breakfast all day and every plate that comes out of that kitchen is heaping with the most delicious looking food. I was having second thoughts about my ordering Mexican but I was glad I did. I'll be back for breakfast and more. read more

If this is the best that Coolidge has, skip it and find another place to eat. Ordered mexican food, "enchilada " ,tamale, taco plate. Taco had lots of meat on it, but an odd flavor, "enchilada" is just a fried lump of heavy, over salted, greasy masa. No beans, chicken, cheese, nothing. The worst thing on the plate though, was the tamale! I asked if they were home made and,server said yes. What I got was a dry, barely warm piece of card board. Yuk. It's like it had been sitting around for a week or two, and they threw it into the microwave for a couple of minutes. Then to add insult to injury, they covered it all in some thick, tasteless sauce and fake shredded cheese. Grose! When I complained to the waitress, she didn't offer to get me another one, I had to ask her to take some off of my check, and the manager only took $1 off! Husbands burger was dry, nothing soecial.
