I'm visiting Florence, AZ when I saw The Florence Cafe located at 495 N Pinal Pkwy, Ste 102, Florence, AZ 85132 It was a cowboy cafe serving breakfast and lunch. It was the cleanest restaurant (including the restrooms) I've ever experienced. There were booths, tables and a bar you could sit at. The ambience was country with background music playing. The service was excellent. The two servers worked as a team making sure all the customers were served. The chefs worked really hard to produce an excellent meal. So before I get into the food, I want to give a disclaimer. Everyone have different ideas about what the food should be. The few poor star reviews reflect this. I am not that particular as long as the meal uses fresh quality ingredients and is prepared with care. Florence Cafe fulfills my requirements. The western omelette with cheese was the classic type-no souflet or fluffy. The filling was fresh and hot. The biscuits and gravy was really delicious (gravy was not thick and gooey). The star of the meal was the house made salsa (slight upcharge) which was thick and delicious. The coffee was really good! I also tried a cinnamon roll and a slice of apple pie-really good! The cinnamon roll was not too sweet and not loaded with thick sugary syrup like so many others are. The restaurant had a lot of customers and I looked at some of the lunch items being ordered. Food came out fast and hot. It was so delicious. Toast came extremely buttered. So many regular ol' folks in there, I'm afraid they'll give someone a heart attack with how much sweet butter they add to their toast. As an outsider and a person of color, service and ambiance was ok. Definitely got a few side eyes from the regulars and one of the servers, but it's to be expected in AZ. read more

I will never going for lunch anymore. The breakfast is great but I ordered a medium rare steak and it wasn't cooked right, thin as a board and tasted like hamberger. This was the most pitiful example for a steak. Paid $15.00 for this steak with green beans on the side. read more

So there we were, in Downtown Florence and hungry for lunch when we spied the Florence Cafe right on the main drag on the way out of town. It was 11:30 so we had the usual dilemma:did we want breakfast or lunch? Lunch won out, and I ordered the Chicken fried steak with brown gravy, French fries, and fried okra! Linda had a crispy chicken salad thst was excellent, and plenty to eat. My chicken fried steak was HUGE (haven't had one that big since Crossroads Grill in Parker... A story for another time). Everything was excellent, and the service was great. On 12b30 Ona Friday, the joint was really hoppin' anddincevitcsermedvlike everyone knew everyone else, it was a bit on the loud side, but that was perfectly fine. We have eaten here multiple times so I am not quite sure why I have never reviewed it, so this one is a bit past due. Sorry guys. In short the food here is down home cooking, comfort food at its finest! Nothing fancy but anything you could want from open faced sandwiches to French toast to Eggs Benny. The portions are more than enough to leave you loosening your belt on the way out the door and prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and there isn't a shortage of them. They are also a victim of their own success, well that and being the only decent breakfast place in a Florence, because there can be a bit of a wait most mornings, and certainly on the weekends. The noise inside is somewhat overwhelming if you are hard of hearing and they could certainly expand the inside to accommodate more people. They also need to figure out how to situate the checkout differently as everyone kind of log jams at the entrance coming and going. But hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it right? It didn't look like it would be amazing until we went inside It looked full but we got a table very fast. The special of the day was cinnamon roll pancakes so I got them. Delicious! The food is hot and cooked like my mom used to cook. I got the eggs Benedict SBT (spinach, bacon, and tomato). This was cooked totally perfect. The spinach was cooked and delicious. The tomato was warm. Everything meshed perfectly together. I also got hashbrowns which were perfectly cooked. Hubby got eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy. Came for breakfast. Ordered a skillet The onions, bell peppers were raw. The bacon was in bits and thrown on top. The ham was cold. Clearly the skillet was not grilled but just assembled. I told the waitress about it to whereby she said, " it's grilled honey that's how it's suppose to be" Her attitude over my complaint was one that I would not let her take my food back. The Florence cafe is quaint and clean. We've had outstanding service every single time. I've had several omelets, the SMS is my personal favorite. The biscuits and gravy are good, the soups and sandwiches are also very good. The only disappointment I've had there was an eggs Benedict but it could have been an off day. Poached eggs tend to be either fantastic or a complete bomb (in my experience) the hollandaise sauce was good, the eggs were just cold and runny. Used to be "the breakfast joint" in town. Food has gone to crap. We are regulars ( not anymore as of Jan 14, 2024). I refuse to keep spending money on crap. Todays crap, (I changed from my regular omlette because that became crap the last 4 times) Biscuits, the gal who perfectly made them doesnt do it anymore. OK probably won't go here again went down there drove about a half hour to get there cause we went there once before my daughter love the pie. Went there again today had the western omelette wasn't too bad but the hashbrowns for chewy and they were kind of old seem like they were old and other ones you find leftovers and heat it up and they're still chewy so I probably won't go there again. And nowadays for the price you really have to be picky on what you get I also add an updated menu because last menus are on there for 2019 and they were two dollars off please do better. read more

We were a group of 10 Seniors who needed an alternative restaurant because our chosen restaurant where we had a reservation had closed without letting us know. A quick look at Google maps showed us that the Cafe was nearby. I called and asked if they could accommodate us and they y said sure! 5 minutes later we were seated and within 15 minutes or so we were all served...separate checks and everything, served with a smile . Great biscuits, great gravy...great breakfast experience. This place is always packed and consistently makes good food. I have never had anything I didn't like. I would recommend the chicken friend steak skillet... I eat it all the time and being a big guy, I leave full and often times have to leave food on the plate...so much food! Staff are friendly, they could probably do with more as there are so many people the staff aren't able to get to you very quickly. read more

Stopped in here for breakfast hike passing through. Great staff, very nice and down to earth. The waitress helping us was friendly and easy to talk too. She took our orders and everything was correct when it came out. She was even very polite as one of us asked for sugar free sweetener and syrup. She kept our drinks full and hot (coffee) and even gave us to-go waters when we left. I would definitely stop here again. The food was great and I like local little cafes. I had a chicken fried steak skillet and that was perfect. Right amount of food for a big hearty breakfast. My buddy got the chicken fried steak breakfast and this thing was huge. Biggest dam chicken fried steak I have ever seen, he had to get a to-go box for part of it. We had a trailer with us and found parking easy when we got there. Stopped in for breakfast. Spouse and I had the eggs, toast, bacon and hash browns. It was a good standard breakfast and spouse who had the scrambled eggs said they where good. Except for the eggs mine was good as well. The eggs however, over hard, where the worst I have EVER had and at 66 I have eaten a lot of eggs in my life, so this is not a statement I make lightly. I am not sure if it was what they where cooked in, or a bad egg, or something else, but one bite told me all I needed to know. I did take a second bite from the other egg, but spit it out.
