I love Tacos Morelos. I enjoy getting the shrimp tostadas, very fresh and flavorful. I also enjoy the tortas and tacos with the agua de Jamaica. All their dishes are wonderful and I enjoy the restaurant decor. I've ordered delivery and it takes about 30-40 minutes which is normal. I'm a regular customer. read more

was in a tacos mood and stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner with my brother. the menu had english translations and was quite expansive, we got the following to try: -tacos (birria/shrimp/carne asada/carnitas): the birria was really dry and not very flavorful. had to douse it with the orange salsa to give it some flavor. i tried my brother's shrimp tacos and they were quite good. he had the other tacos and didn't have any complaints. -al pastor tostadas: lots of meat and other toppings. it was flavorful and tasty, nice to get bites of sweet pineapple here and there. -carne asada quesadilla: meaty and cheesy, but not super memorable. -horchata: sooooo good and refreshing! pretty sweet to start but once the ice melts, it balances everything out. we really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. the chips were fresh, hardy on the thicker side, and had a nice aroma of corn. the salsa was zippy and fresh. service was quite speedy even tho there's a slight language barrier. overall, a pretty good meal and i'd return! ps. the music was pretty loud and it does take a bit of time getting used to it. would've been nice for sure if the volume was a little lower tho. read more

The best tacos I had ever had in a while. The atmosphere was great. My bf and I took a trip to NYC and this was added to the list at the last minute. The food was a lot, paid about $40-50 or less. While in the area visiting a fellow Yelper ( hey Nicci D !) we were famished and needed lunch. We Yelped local eateries and decided on Tacos Morelos. 37th Avenue is home to many Latin flavors but you just can't turn down a 5 Star Taco restaurant! We arrived and many locals were dining on delicious dishes. We were awestruck by all the colorful, authentic and eye catching decor. We reviewed the happy hour specials and the owner took our drink orders. Nic decided on a $5 Mojito and I had to have my Horchata ! We feasted our eyes on the carnitas torta and tacos. I also tried a barbacoa ( goat) taco. Our platters arrived and I tried the goat taco. It had a very gamey taste to it, that I didn't like. The carnitas were ok. Everything was very hot and the toppings and tortillas were delicious. They give a complimentary basket of fresh crispy tortilla chips and salsa which are delicious. This place has a full bar which is awesome for a mid day pick me up ! The service is good and the food is very good. I'll definitely be back to take advantage of the full bar and drink specials. read more

I'm so disappointed in this place. Their food is great don't get me wrong but please people. Pay attention to what you're paying for ! They charge you the price of the food then charge you a gratuity fee that's not mentioned on the receipt because it's combined with the NYC taxes. NYC taxes are 8%!!!!. So when you pay with a card for example they'll come back so you can add up to 35% EXTRA in gratuity. Without them already mentioning they automatically charge gratuity. BTW! I'm the type of person that just swipes my card and give 25% in tips. But after this happened god only know how many times I really tipped these assholes up to probably $60 per visit. **Delivery Review** Friday night, wanted to try a new spot for Mexican food in the area. This place both delivers and has an extremely large menu to choose from. Between two people: settled on the Nachos Regulares ($8), Arroz con Frijoles ($4), and Pastor Burrito ($9). Hit with a 35-45 minute delivery time and a delivery fee of $3, which isn't too bad. About an hour passes, so decide to call the restaurant - at first they weren't sure our order existed, but then insisted it would arrive in 10 minutes. Around 30 minutes later we call again, and once again they say "10 minutes". Figured at this point they're just dicking us around and canceled the order through Grubhub. Not a fan of the service here - if there are issues with the delivery, just let us know. read more

Tacos Morelos was a solid bi-weekly go-to but it is time to cut ties. Portions continue to shrink--sides fill less than half of their containers as prices increase and delivery fees are added. Tonight's 20-25 minutes turned to 1hr 10 minutes after after submitting order. Called after an hour and 15 and was told "ten minutes". I cancelled the order and finally someone buzzed 1hr 45 minutes after the initial order. The delivery distance was nine blocks. Being from California, I had been a snob about Mexican food in NYC for many years. The cuisine in the city has gotten better over the years but Queens has always been the better borough for the Central American goods. I have been to the East Village and Financial District outposts and the Jackson Heights location is really the best. Last time I came here, I met the owner and he had mentioned he sold the EV location. This is my absolute favorite Mexican place in the city. I often think about their Al Pastor, salty pork and caramelized pineapple, so addictive. Cooking the pineapple really makes a difference. I like getting the Huarache trio with different meats, so yummy. They are perfect all the time: crispy on the outside, soft and luscious on the inside. It's good that it's a little far from me as i would probably be there everyday. read more

Came for a beer and some nachos grande while on a short break during a job in the neighborhood. The Euro cup was showing Spain vs France, but this extremely irritating mariachi man complete with karaoke machine and sombrero set up shop by the entrance and blasted his music and belted poorly to the patrons. He clearly annoyed everyone in there at first, but he was more entertaining to everyone than the game or anything else in the place. The nachos were good, the sauces on the side i dumped all over the nachos was a bit much and created a slight soupyness, but it was containable with the nachos. Two Pacificos were ice cold as well. This place stands out from most of the restaurants in the surrounding five blocks. Everything else from the outside looked dumpy compared to this place, but even with a B rating, it looked more polished than the rest. read more

She said she wanted Mexican and the places around us are lame or got mixed reviews. So we wanted a downscale authentic place int he barrio. Tacos Morelos fit the bill. The waitress didn't speak English! Yea baby! Eight tables and a bar. Loud music, blaring futbol on the two flat screens. The chips and salsa were unique, probably homemade. We started with the kalamari, which was a mistake because I came here for something unique, but it wasn't bad. It filled me up so all I had was a BBQ taco, which was just dry meat with cilantro. The do have a red and a green sauce you can add. It was also similarly not unique, though they include 2 tortillas. Cori V got mole chicken, which had a unique taste. She said, "you know there are like 20 different mole sauces?!" This one was hotter and less sweet. "They're not afraid of heat," she said The margaritas were not so great, but not bad. Too salty. It was empty on a Friday night, not a good sign, not sure why. Though what I had wasn't spectacular, it had some uniqueness. I wouldn't mind trying some more things on the extensive menu. For me it's going to be hit or miss because of the language barrier, or the luck of the draw with whether we get an English speaking waitress who wants to help guide us. Great food here, chilaquiles with grilled chicken are delicious. Rice and beans are served as side. Ive tried their pork ribs with salsa verde and these were good too. My only dislike is delivery. This place is so great! Been here multiple times and so far all the times have been great. The tortillas are hand made!! Which is pretty unique for a Mexican restaurant. They were in Park Slope, located in Union Street on the corner of 5th Avenue last Saturday. Awesome! I got myself a spicy chicken quesadilla which was oh so delicious! It was perfect after a night of drinking in Union Hall. The truck says Jackson Heights, so I was happy and surprised when I found them in Park Slope. These guys are assholes. I went to delivery.com to better see their menu. I was surprised to see the vegetarian tacos to be $3.99 each so I thought it best to call to see what's up. Maybe you get two tacos, I didn't know. The woman who answered told be they were $3.50, higher than the $2.00 and $2.50 usual cost of the neighborhood, but hey at least it wasn't $3.99 and I was really hungry. I told her I didn't quite have enough cash so could I please change the guac and chips ($8) for rice and beans ($5). She then got snappy with me and said if you're not going to order at least $20 worth of food then we aren't going to take your order, you live 10 blocks away. Yeah....and? Was walking around with the BF in Jackson Heights apartment hunting and walked by this place. We knew it had a taco truck so we decided to go in and give it a try. I agree with Stephen - I was most excited that this was a cheap authentic place with lots of trashy TV and no English. We went in on a Sunday afternoon at 2 and the place was empty. The food came out fast. It was delightfully tasty. I got the enchiladas which were.....good ....but I wouldn't get them again. The chips and salsa were some of the best I've had. So good! Morelos has opened recently and they make tortillas in the window. They recently got a liquor license and have a fine selection of liquor, especially tequila. We ate there three times in the past three weeks and it has been excellent for simple fresh Puebla cooking . The prices could not be more reasonable. The chicken soup, quesadilla tinga, the chile relleno, the chorizo and eggs are all delicious. The house tortillas are the best we have had in a long time here in Queens. Enjoy! read more

This is our go-to Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood since Tacos Mexico went downhill. The tortillas are homemade and everything is delicious. I highly recommend the tacos placeros, gorditas, and the guac. One tip, it's much faster to call for delivery. First visit today after ordering from there many times. They're super quick with delivery and it was a nice surprise to find the restaurant so pleasant, too. Full bar, fairly spacious, no loud Mexican music blaring from a jukebox. I ordered the posole con tostadas. I think it's one of their best dishes. The enchiladas are only listed on the menu with salsa roja and salsa verde, but my boyfriend asked for mole poblano for his enchiladas, and they were happy to accommodate his request. His brother said his bistek con nopales were good, too. The only thing that wasn't excellent were the picadas which weren't crispy. When the Man United v.
