This one was alone for years, with an expanded area under a tarp on certain days. On those occasions, they had more for sale. Suddenly, this truck opened after COVID, followed by a Halal stand and another Taco truck at 17th Avenue/New Utrecht and 79th street, at the official entrance to the 79th Street Station. I haven't bothered with the other trucks yet. If they're good as well as consistent, then I will surely get a chance in the future. For now, I am obsessed with Tacos Poblanito. I added them to the map several times but none of them stuck, even with photos; as a result, I lost three full introductory reviews of this place. So I'm annoyed that my extra work not only failed, but that I lost my Elite status this year when I was putting in even more work than usual for Yelp. These guys are famous for their beef birria tacos. Their Birria is amazing. I love their beans and rice. Their salsas are great, and they send 'em without me having to remember to ask, which I appreciate. And they aren't fooling around with that spice level. They have 2 to 3 salsas each day of different types and spice levels. One is pretty clearly 'mild' which would be medium to medium-hot for most gringo palettes. The place was packed when we arrived and there were a lot of customers coming in the entire time we were there. There was a constant flow of food delivery guys coming to pick up food orders, too. It was really great to see a local business doing so well in our community. The entire staff (special shout out to Felipe and Alison) was super friendly and the food was really delicious. We ordered A LOT of tacos, so it was nice they offered special deals for larger orders. We also ordered iced horchatas. We waited a little bit for our order because of the large amounts of take out, online and in person orders, the entire staff was working as hard as they possibly could. They were always pleasant to each customer (we sat by the register so we noticed the interactions). The staff kept us well informed, so we weren't bothered by it.
