For the breakfast taco, I ordered the Barbacoa which comes with egg, and the beans and cheese were an add-on. It was much needed. I also tried my husband's taco and we really enjoyed the meat on it, we haven't had this kind of taco in Houston. Their green sauce is their spicy sauce so of course we got that! Overall, for a chain, we were impressed.

I think they could easily use the larger tortillas while keeping the same amount of meat and cheese. That would help balance the ratio and, in my opinion, make the price feel more justified. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has such a nice atmosphere. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

The kitchen inside can be found up front next to the cashier for the neighborhood store. The service was great and the tacos were phenomenal too. Each taco was $2 and the price is the same no matter what you get, which was nice as similar restaurants may up charge for more expensive meats on tacos like bistec. It also comes with cilantro, onions, limes, and their homemade salsas. Both salsas are great, but I really loved their red salsa as it had great flavor and a little bit of kick too. The other perk of this restaurant is there's a whole convenient store inside so if you want anything to drink or snacks to go with your meal, you have tons of options to pick from and for a good price too. Overall, definitely recommend this place, especially if you live near the Lakewood/Old East part of Dallas!

This is a bit of a hole in the wall: you order at the register and can either sit around the bar or there's a really nice patio! I ordered three tacos, though I honestly can't remember what I had. They were delicious. You can taste the authenticity and even watch them being made. They seem to have an abuela making everything by hand and it definitely tastes like it. The service was fairly quick for everything being made to order and we were able to sit and enjoy the tacos while watching the World Cup. I'm literally still thinking about how amazing these tacos were. We will definitely be making a trip in the future!

I ordered the steak & cabeza tacos (The cabeza was a runaway favorite!) as well as the sopes which were also delicious. The food was GREAT! The only thing to be mindful of is that there are a ton of flies in the sitting area because of the nearby trash, so if that would bother you, you may want to take your order to-go. The flies is the only factor keeping my rating from 5 stars, the food is great.

I ordered the shredded beef flautas and a taco al pastor. The flautas were super crunchy and topped with cabbage, cucumber, tomato, cheese, and salsas on the side. Really good. But the taco al pastor was the highlight so flavorful and tasty. My boyfriend got the pastor burrito and a tongue taco. The burrito was basically pastor only (no rice or beans), but the meat was really good. He loved the tongue taco. I notice the lady in the kitchen and the one taking the order. They were friendly. If you're in the area and want quick, fresh street-style Mexican food, I definitely recommend Mami Coco.
