Over hyped. Food was fair for meat that was made from yesterday. Okay I got four tacos and each one had different meats. The pork one was the best, tasted good. The other tacos (steak, beef tongue & beef intestines) tasted like it was made yesterday and not fresh. I didn't find anything good other than the shredded pork taco to be good. I will not return again or will receive my money again. But nice try, nice try.

I've tried all of the taco trucks and Mexican restaurants in Selma at one point, and this is the one I keep coming back to. I'll actually drive out of my way to get here when I'm traveling down the freeway. Combine the awesome prices ($4 burritos, sopes, gorditas, tortas, and pupusas, and $1.50 tacos!) with the wide selection of less common Latin American food, and it's a big winner in my book. There isn't much seafood, but the carnitas are excellent and the pollo is mostly white meat. Best of all, they don't use onions on anything, which is exactly how I like it. Sometimes the thick tortillas are more grilled than fried, and other times they're as crisp as can be. Either way it's good, but the crispy fried ones are definitely the more decadent.

We stood at the window for about 5 minutes before the lady with the resting B acknowledged us. Asked "is that it" after every item.

Even now, whenever I have a reason to pass through town, I make it a point to stop by. The food has always been consistently delicious, with generous portions and flavors that keep me coming back year after year. What makes this place special, though, is that it's a true family-owned business with deep roots in the community. In a world where so many local restaurants have come and gone, it's great to see a place with so much history continue to thrive. Sal's is one of those restaurants that feels like a part of Selma itself. Great food, great people, and decades of memories. Highly recommended.

I feel we should've been seated at a regular table since it was a little squished. There was a lot of options on the menu to choose from. The waiter asked if we wanted anything to drink. Everyone got water and one also got a diet soda. We also got complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were crunchy and the salsa was your average salsa. I decided to get 2 item combination plate. I got the tamale and the ground beef enchilada. The plate comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. The portion would fill up someone who was hungry. Some of the people at the table had taken some leftovers home. The Spanish rice had flavor. The refried beans was average. Tamale was a litte dry so decided to put some salsa or the enchilada sauce on it. The enchilada was good. If you want a filling meal for a reasonable price, then this restaurant is a good option.

Then the day comes when you say 'screw it' and finally decided to go in, only to get blown away. Yeah, that's EXACTLY what happened in my case. I finally decided to go in and check it out after hearing many good things about and it was AMAZING. The attendants behind the counter super courteous and sweet, heck, I felt like the most important person in there. A nice atmosphere despite having to remove their dinning area due to COVID, but from what I saw, it carried a good ambiance. Anyways, I got to the counter and ordered my food (shrimp fries), waited a bit and then was given it. Right away I could SMELL the shrimp and boy was my mouth watering. Ugh-- totally swooned right then and there. It was really hard to resist the urge of just sitting in my car and eating the whole thing right there. Nevertheless, I made it home in the end with my precious package intact and it was still friggin piping hot. So much shrimp was packed into along with gooey cheese and some sort of sauce. I didn't know what it was, but it was delicious. It was a massive portion too. Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish it all in one go, but that only meant I'd have more for later! All in all, l LOVED the experience and I LOVED the food. I will definitely be stopping by here again!
