One thing we had going for us is that we had a man on the inside who could hook it up. I was hoping it meant free food, but that wasn't the case. In the end, I went with the namesake Rodolfo's special. I was told that the taco it came with, the Selma taco, was named such, because it won a taco competition in Selma. In no time we were all served and chowing down. My plate was very hot and I could still hear the meat in my tacos sizzling, so I wisely started with the enchilada. The flavor was great, my only issue was the chicken, because it did chicken things that chicken does. But it was still good, don't get me wrong. After that, I waited on my taco to cool down. Yeah, it was that piping hot. It was good, but not great. I think it was the partially fried tortilla. It's something that they have to do though, given how loaded the taco is. A limp tortilla would not be up to the task. I know some people like some structure to their taco. I don't mind getting down and dirty. Personal preference. I have to say, the middling reviews had me a bit worried. Getting VIP service ensured that we were taken care of though. Side note experience that I didn't have. A friend felt like he got overcharged. $16.95 dinner plate with water and his bill came out to $24. He didn't want to make a thing about it. It wasn't that big a deal for him. But for others, it could be. All in all, we had a good time. Our server was nice. They gave the 9 of us our own private room. My buddy probably broke their door and they just laughed about it.
