    Menudo in the morning

Located right off the highway, this truck provides some of the most authentic food I've ever had. Chain run Mexican restaurants should be ashamed of themselves. Imagine if this cook had a full sized kitchen. While the food rates 5 stars, the location is sorta hidden from the northbound side of the highway. And after a small rain, the parking area muddied up quickly. Will certainly be back.

    Quesadilla

The latest thing these days seems to be the replacement of small restaurants with catering trucks parked next to an easy-up. I see this all over south LA, and now I've seen it in rural Selma. The food was great! I had an excellent carnitas burrito and my wife had a stupendous carnitas quesadilla. Both were top notch and came to $11, including a small horchata for me. Moist meat. Generous servings. Good quality ingredients. Preventing a five rating is the seating. There were flies everywhere. I'm pretty much not bugged (heh) by flies, but there were dozens of them, and they were constantly landing on the food. My wife was bothered more by it, so she was waving her hand the entire time she was eating. So, if flies are a problem for you, in this neck of the woods, you're going to have to go inside and not eat next to a growing field in a rural area. It was also hot--in the 90s--so that made the fly problem worse. I think that a strong fan or two might help. Instead, they have some pathetic little fly strip/trap that was doing nothing. What self-respecting fly would go for that with all the good food being served?

Service was good, parking not that great. My tacos were salty and the guac was watery.

Went back for ANOTHER ROUND OF FRESH HOT FLAVORFUL FOOD…read more AND IT WAS HOT. Wife ordered: 2 item meal enchilada and chile relleno. Me: 2 item with chicken taco and switched my taco to asada meat.(AND HOW DARE THEY MAKE IT THE SIZE OF A PERSONAL PIZZA) Granddaughter: Ordered quesadilla kids meal She couldn't eat it all but she said it's her favorite. Good customer service. Clean restaurant. Salsa bowls too small. BUT GOLLY TO HECK IT TASTES GOOD AND FRESH. Add cilantro. Even water tastes good. No mildew flavor no after taste. I told my wife I would move to Selma for this restaurant. lol. MAKING IT MY GO TO SPOT EVERYYYY DAY.

We ordered Cam Mojo de Ajo, which was two garlic too much garlic in there there was not even any butter the rice got drenched with the garlic and the butter, so it was very oily. We ordered a steak plate which they brought last. I don't understand why they should've brought out all the food together they brought out the Menudo first, and they just took forever to bring out everything which I found very weird. I would never order my plate ever again, which was a come on Mohala. The Menudo was good. it did have flavor and it had a lot of meat in it. The steak plate or the Carne Asada plate was good, but I don't understand why it took forever to read that Play-Doh. The restaurant is kind of big it was crowded with a lot of people. There was no way to sit, but I don't think we'll ever go back. We drove about 30 to 45 minutes to try the place out since we had seen it on TikTok, but wasn't too great.

We were looking for a good spot that was central to us all. We were coming from Dinuba, Reedley,…read moreSanger, Kingsburg and Fresno. Selma seemed like the natural central location. Next thing, where to go. Selma has many iconic restaurants -Sal's, Rosalinda, Antonio's. But I had never heard of Rodolfo's. It came highly recommended by a few of us attending, so we gave it a go. One thing we had going for us is that we had a man on the inside who could hook it up. I was hoping it meant free food, but that wasn't the case. But we did get our own private room, so that was nice. Some recommendations were made, but I was split between the nopales, chile verde nachos, Rodolfo's special, Selma special and chile verde plate. In the end, I went with the namesake Rodolfo's special. I was told that the taco it came with, the Selma taco, was named such, because it won a taco competition in Selma. All the more reason to try it, right? Didn't have high expectations for the chile verde chicken enchiladas, but I like chile verde and enchiladas, so why not. Service was quick. In no time we were all served and chowing down. My plate was very hot and I could still hear the meat in my tacos sizzling, so I wisely started with the enchilada. The flavor was great, my only issue was the chicken, because it did chicken things that chicken does. But it was still good, don't get me wrong. After that, I waited on my taco to cool down. Yeah, it was that piping hot. It was good, but not great. I think it was the partially fried tortilla. It's something that they have to do though, given how loaded the taco is. A limp tortilla would not be up to the task. I know some people like some structure to their taco. I don't mind getting down and dirty. Personal preference. I have to say, the middling reviews had me a bit worried. Getting VIP service ensured that we were taken care of though. Side note experience that I didn't have. A friend felt like he got overcharged. $16.95 dinner plate with water and his bill came out to $24. He didn't want to make a thing about it. It wasn't that big a deal for him. But for others, it could be. All in all, we had a good time. Our server was nice. They gave the 9 of us our own private room. My buddy probably broke their door and they just laughed about it. Your experience may vary but this was mine.

Then the day comes when you say 'screw it' and finally decided to go in, only to get blown away. Yeah, that's EXACTLY what happened in my case. I finally decided to go in and check it out after hearing many good things about and it was AMAZING. The attendants behind the counter super courteous and sweet, heck, I felt like the most important person in there. A nice atmosphere despite having to remove their dinning area due to COVID, but from what I saw, it carried a good ambiance. Anyways, I got to the counter and ordered my food (shrimp fries), waited a bit and then was given it. Right away I could SMELL the shrimp and boy was my mouth watering. Ugh-- totally swooned right then and there. It was really hard to resist the urge of just sitting in my car and eating the whole thing right there. Nevertheless, I made it home in the end with my precious package intact and it was still friggin piping hot. So much shrimp was packed into along with gooey cheese and some sort of sauce. I didn't know what it was, but it was delicious. It was a massive portion too. Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish it all in one go, but that only meant I'd have more for later! All in all, l LOVED the experience and I LOVED the food. I will definitely be stopping by here again!
