This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, and I want to emphasize the Mexico part, not the…read moreborderlands mash-up TexMex that most places serve. The rice is white with peas and carrots, like they do in the interior. The pepper is more likely to be chipotle. There are some excellent fish (usually black drum) and shrimp dishes. I had a superb camerones dish over rice with chipotle sauce and a lovely slaw on top you wouldn't think would work but it does. And IMO the portion sizes are perfect, not demanding the carry out box every single time. The bar is also good, and if you're going to treat yourself, yes, they'll use Clase Azul tequila and do it well. The interior has been redone a bit, mostly in the tables, since we were last there, and it's an improvement. They still have the garage-style roll-up doors for opening up to the patio in good weather. (Not today, thanks, too hot out.) Christian was our server and was timely and anticipatory and professional and endured my Spanish.

The mole enchiladas had good flavor, but they could have benefited from a little more mole sauce and a thinner tortilla to better complement the dish. I also ordered the Tacos Del Mar with beef, and unfortunately they seemed a bit light on the meat. On a positive note, the service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive throughout the meal, frequently checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Our drinks were always refilled before we had a chance to ask, and our glasses never sat empty. The outstanding service definitely made the dining experience more enjoyable.

My husband ordered their burrito, which came with chips and a cheese dip on the side. Their shrimp was good; nothing special. I did ask to try aleida's sauce, which many people liked on yelp, but we liked their green sauce the most! Overall, very cute and colorful restaurant; loved all the decor. The outdoor patio, where we sat, was covered and nice, until it started pouring hard outside. Not a super authentic latin restaurant. No complimentary chips and salsa. My taco wasn't worth more than $5, tbh, and we paid close to $9..given it was shrimp, but we've had much better shrimp tacos elsewhere for less. I wish I had a photo of my poor taco, but I totally forgot to take a picture :/

Plenty of menu options as well. The staff are warm, welcoming, and accommodating (we came with a group of 6 and they got us situated right away). The space is small (which I find very nice), there is indoor and covered/shaded outdoor seating available. And I love the decor! Overall, highly recommend!

Last night I ordered the soup of the day, "Chili Potato Soup with Bacon" and the "Steak Burrito". Both were very delicious, however the soup was very, very good! A little spicy from the chili peppers and thick. The bacon on top was done quite well adding to the overall flavor. The steak Burrito was filled with steak. Our server, Alex, was so nice as well as the rest of the staff. After ordering, the meals came out fast. Alex came by a few times to make sure we had refills for our drinks and to ensure we were satisfied. There is indoor and outdoor seating and even a private room for special events. There are both tables and booths plus a bar. There are a few TVs showing sports. A great time, thank you Blue Corn and Alex for making it memorable. If you haven't been here, then go check out!

Menu has a large selection of choices, with several variations of Tex Mex mainstays. Lots of appetizers and drinks. We got a cup (!) of chicken tortilla soup, and the stuffed jalapenos. The cup was almost like a stew, loaded with chicken and veggies, with a side of rice, cheese, pico, tortilla strips, and sliced avocado. They also offer a bowl, must be about half a gallon, if the cup is any indication! Jalapenos were tasty, and stem was already trimmed off. We got the combo fajitas for two, and received a massive platter, and two plates of sides. Everything was very fresh and tasty, needless to say, we had plenty to pack up to take home. Generous portions, the charro beans had some outstanding smoky bacon in it as well. Lots of carmelized onion and pepper along with the chicken and beef fajita. One thing that impressed us was the overall friendliness and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. All of the staff were smiling and sounding like they were having a good day - these included interactions we could see/hear that didn't include customers. Our waitress was so friendly, that it was actually a good positive thing that stuck with us the rest of the day (not a given these days). Will have to add this place to our lunch rotation when we come down to Cedar Park!

Overall, nothing special about this place. Our server was slow, given it was father's day, but she rarely checked up on us. We had to flag her down for the check in the end. I should've reacted to my first impulse when I walked in. Leave! Now! The booming, loud and annoying music was almost unbearable. I stayed and ordered the #3 lunch combination. The chips were good, but I much prefer a thinner white corn chip. The red salsa was very good; the creamy stuff was bland. The rice and beans were above average. The guacamole was a mess. It was bland, and the whole tostada--with guacamole, lettuce and chopped tomatoes--was slathered in something sweet and weird. I just pushed it aside. Excellent crispy taco shell, but the carne molida was dry, overcooked and disappointing. The cheese enchilada was awful. Wrong cheese. I prefer (correct) American, not cheddar. But it was good quality cheddar and not that stringy, bubble gum consistency stuff I run into occasionally. There was only a trace of what I assumed was supposed to be the chili con carne gravy (per the menu) so I requested more gravy which was thin, bland and somewhat tomato tasting, not chili con carne sauce. I ate the rice, beans, taco and a couple bites of enchilada--and left hungry. The service was outstanding.
