This is the best Mexican on the mountain. It says something that as a local, I drive past three full service restaurants to this truck parked in a dirt lot. (They do have a couple tables and an awning set up if you're passing through and don't want to eat in your car) I usually get one of their huge burritos. read more

Wow what a great find for Santa Clarita. Just a few more miles from Valencia. It was a real taco truck and had permanent bench seatings. They had all types of meats - lengua ( tongue), buche (intestines), cabeza (brain),nopalitas (cactus) and all the other boring meats, but more importantly it was very tasty. You also get a bean type taco as a snack. The flour tortilla was the perfect crunch. This is a truckers place, so you do see lots of trucks. read more

There are about half a dozen taco trucks in the area, but this one calls my name! "Papi" lol.. Always consistent. They run a tight ship here. I believe there's 3 trucks. They switch out with a stocked truck every so often. Everything has always been fresh. You get a complimentary refried bean tostasda . Tacos and quesadillas hit the spot. The quesadilla will fill someone up easily. 3 to 4 tacos will be sufficient for one person as well. Tip...ask for mor salsa. I would have love to give this taco truck more starts but if there's one thing I know it's TACOS. Lol with that said these tacos are good but you have to understand where I'm coming from with the whole Taco thing lmao. I have had my share of different tacos so when it comes to tacos I'm a tough critic. I had two chicken and two asada tacos which looked good and taste ok. The chicken and carne asada could have been better quality and the tortillas were not that great but the salsa was pretty good. I had a high expectations for this place because it showed up #1 from where I live (for tacos). I ordered carne asada tacos for to go. I didn't realize later that they put spicy red sauce all over tacos. If I knew earlier about that, I would ask not to put sauce, but it was too late. Make sure you ask how much the food is before you order because your gonna be surprised. I understand everything is going up because everything is expensive but 4$ tacos and 4 $sodas. We still paid for our food and it was good but probably won't come again. For 70$ I paid I should have just went to a toppers pizza and chuys or firehouse. The chicharon gets soggy but I should have known better. Al pastor was amazing. Carne asada, pollo, lengua, carne y nopales......all solid. We got an al pastor enchilada and that was shockingly good. No aguas frescas but they do have Mexican and American sodas. And I prefer a table where you can add condiments rather than having that done for you but it all worked out fine. And that bean tostada. It's so simple. How can it be sooo tasty? We had a party of 17 and they let us all order, dig in, talk, go in for round 2 and then finally pay. Considering how meager their margins must be I can't believe they'd be so trusting but that trust was wonderfully refreshing. If you're on your way north and need a break before the slog up to the Gorman Pass, pull off on Lake Hughes Road, just past Magic Mountain, for authentic Mexican food. Jimenez's truck is wedged between long haul truckers taking a break. The Tostadas de Ceviche had big chunks of white fish, a good amount of shrimp, and generous fresh cucumbers and red onions. Jimenez's heaps it on. Add a little hot sauce from their unmarked bottle to spice it up. The tostadas were thick and crunchy. The tacos were stuffed with meat and well-spiced. We had the Pollo, Asada, and Nopalas, but ran out of room in our stomachs to try the rest. Friendly and helpful, the guys in the truck know their way around the kitchen and menu. The shaded bench out front is big and clean enough to support 3 or 4 groups. You'll make a few friends if you stick around to eat. Definitely recommend Jimenez's as a quick stop when your on your way to/from SF, Paso Robles or Yosemite. read more

The best tacos! This is now, my usual stop on my way back to LA. I forgot to take a picture of my plate, before I ate it all. I ordered two tacos one with pork belly one with Asada there are plenty of meat and they are garnished with onion, cilantro and salsa on each. The plate is a completed it with grilled spicy jalapeño or Serrano pepper, tostada with refried beans, radish and a lemon ledge. The food truck is located on the parking lot for trucks. Plenty of parking ready in front of the truck and there's some tables and chairs. The service is very quick and friendly they also take credit cards. I haven't tried the other food tracks in the area because I keep returning to tacos Jimenez and every time I'm super happy that I did. read more

When driving to and from LA, this Castsic staple is a good place to stop off for tacos. I have tried most of their tacos and here's my take.... asada: meh - not the best but definitely not the worst. Al pastor: same as above ....yeah, most people usually stick to the familiar (asada, chicken, al pastor) and there's nothing wrong with that but you need to venture and explore other items on the menu. The tacos de lengua (tongue tacos) are delicious. The meat is cooked to perfection...tender and well seasoned. In a nutshell, deliciousness on a tortilla. The chicharrón (pork rind tacos) are probably the star of the menu. The pork skins with meat are simmered in a chile sauce to perfection. The meat is fork tender...and using a plastic fork, you know it's tender. (My mouth is watering as I write this review....who knows, I might end up driving to Castsic for tacos de chicharron, right now.) For those of you who end up dropping meat into your plate and you're out of tortillas, you can scoop it up with a bean tostada that's included with your order. Yes, a bean tostada! For those who enjoy the simple things, this humble item is a huge blessing. Oh and did I mention they're open late.....or very early. Depends on how you look at it. *word of warning - there are a few Jimenez trucks and some knock offs. Be sure to visit the Jimenez location next to the Pilot truck stop. read more

Very good! Stopped here for lunch on our way home from A road trip. This place seemed very popular and had a steady stream of locals and truckers. The food was excellent! We tried some tacos and burritos. The burrito supremes (we tried asada and al pastor; both were great) were delicious but HUGE. Bigger (and tastier) than a Chipotle burrito. So be warned. Tacos we ordered were carnitas, Asada , pastor. And they gave us a bean tostada for free . So good. I really loved the pastor & carnitas . This is definitely a must stop before heading down the grapevine! Luckily, it's an easy find off the Castaic exit. So many great options for tacos such as chicharrones, nopales con carne, pastor, carnitas and pollo. I love love love the pastor here! It's tender, perfect flavor but not overpowering, juicy and perfect amount of heat. The nopales are also super yummy! Quite probably the best carne asada soft tacos I've ever had and very, very inexpensive. High quality, great flavor... everything I've had has been really good. Of course it is a food truck and it's on a super busy road with big semis driving by the entire time, and in the summer it is hot and dusty, so eating it there under the tent is not always the greatest option.
