The lady laughed at us when we asked what a Horchata was. Felt very ridiculed for not knowing which is very rude. This was after we ordered food so couldn't do much except go with ordering one or else they would probably spit in my food. Got the food nonetheless and tasted akin to eating at Taco Bell. They even have a drive thru window so I guess it's on that level of food. Restaurant interior was not clean and felt grimy. The tables were sticky and had lots of residue. This place also doesn't feel very safe and I would high recommend avoiding this place unless you got no where else to go for Mexican food and if Taco Bell is too far away. I snuck in here just before closing time one night. Some places turn you away sometimes as far as an hour out before closing time but this place functions fully all the way up to their posted hours which is awesome! They were indeed getting ready to wrap it up for the night but the staff was very friendly still and eager to serve. I got several carne asada tacos here which was fantastic and the salsas that came with it were excellent. The flavors had a great essence of freshness and were very satisfying. Fantastic Mexican food in a funky, converted fast-food setting. They still have the hard plastic tables and chairs and booths, but the menu shows off a ton of housemade items. Not sure what this used to be, but today it has some outdoor seating on a rough-and-ready DIY deck right at a very busy intersection. There's a bit of parking on the east side of the building. Inside, it's just comically reminiscent of an old fast-food joint, like a lot of good under-the-radar Mexican places around. They've added some plants here and there, but the bright, hard-plastic colors are still everywhere. The cashier's counter is a fraction of what it used to be, partially replaced by big drink coolers full of Jarritos and Mexican lagers. The menu is pretty huge, if not exhaustive. Lots of tacos and burritos, salads, some soup (they sell TONS of menudo), chilaquiles. It's not the cheapest place for this kind of food, but it's reasonable. The tacos are rad, and judging by sales, so are the burritos. Going by sales, the menudo evidently must be incredible, but I haven't tried it yet. The tamales tasted good but there was too much dough and it was a bit damp for my tastes. Better than most, though. The chilaquiles, though, those are super rad. You have to sweet-talk them to get them to add meat to them but it's worth it. The people here are super nice, and they really pack the place. We were the only ones without accents, which always gets me enthusiastic about trying the food--it sure paid off here. Can't wait to come back. read more

Tonight I stopped by and was informed the kids meal bean and cheese burrito doesn't include a small drink anymore (though the outside menu says it does) and if that wasn't aggravating enough I was then told the price went UP to $4.75?!
