Definitely worth stopping by, and some of my favorite tacos in Northwest Reno. There's a ton of variety in the meats and the ones I've had are pretty good! Carne asada is my favorite, but I also enjoyed the el pastor. The tortillas and veggies just taste so fresh. My brother tried their quesa birria tacos this time, and they weren't really anyone's favorite. The tortillas were pretty soggy and the consume just tasted a bit off. Either way, there's a ton of variety, staff are super friendly, and it's just a great casual spot for a somewhat quick dinner.

This little treasure of a find is authentic and has delish food. I decided to try something new...birria soup filled with ginormous clumps of beef in a red flavorful soup. Looking like it's red hot in taste, on the contrary it's not flaming hot at all. Came with lime wedges, tortillas and a side serving of hot sauce. Now that side serving of HOT sauce was too much for me. It was a good thing I had a Modelo Especial to accompany my dinner. I would most certainly order this Birria again.

Very disappointed. The tortillas were raw and the meat had no flavor. Definitely not worth it. Will not go back.. trash!

I have only been once, so this is based on limited information. The place is clean with an authentic atmosphere. The menu has all the standard things of a sit down / take out spot, including breakfast, seafood, and beer & wine. The prices appeared to be reasonable. Service came with a smile, and my to-go order came out quickly. Prices are pretty good.

the place was clean and quiet (everyone busy eating), the service was excellent. the horchata was very good, the el pastor burrito was great, just a little salty for my taste. I really liked the salsa, It was an excellent experience.

Boo. It used to be my go to I haven't been here for a while. Clearly they are using much much much smaller tortillas for their $10.99 burritos my son came in laughing and said "mom this burrito is the size of a spoon, Taco Bell burritos are bigger". And then said it did not fill me up, can I get some $ to run to Taco Bell? Very irritating. And OMGGGG everything is SALTY I didn't eat my beans it was so beyond salty. The checkout lady was sweet so I gave 2 stars. I won't be back if I have to buy 2 dinners for my kid...

Great authentic Mexican food. Great vibe. You can just picture a trompo spinning in the kitchen. You order at the counter but then they bring your food out to you on a real plate. I had the al pastor tacos. Not sure how they'd rate on the @THRASHIN' scale but I thought they were pretty good.

This was my first visit. Surprisingly good and authentic Mexican food in an unassuming location. The restaurant is very low-key and a little cramped, but the food is spot on and the service is fast. The Adobada and ceviche will have me coming back again. Their street tacos will be next on my list. They look just as delicious. If you're looking for a good, quick meal, I definitely recommend this place.

Pozole, always hits the spot, especially on record hot days!!

Very consistent Mexican food. I like their Pozole, carne asada tacos and their horchata. The fish tacos are pretty good too.

Smallest burrito I have ever paid for. Half the size of anyone else in town. Still $12 . Not worth the money at all.

Is anything vegan/can be made vegan here?

As with any authentic Mexican taco shop, lard touches just about everything at some point in the kitchen. This is what makes it so good, and also what makes nearly everything so not vegan. The lime slices, jalapeños, and radishes are probably vegan… Read more

Los Gallos covered those two needs perfectly. Located on the main ave across from Circus Circus. Kinda cool pawn shops too but didn't have time to check them out. Walking in, it def has the authentic dinginess that is usually synonymous with authentic tasting food. Lots of handmade signs and pictures of food on the walls. And also lots of pictures from their hometown. It was a Monday afternoon and there were many local Mexican families eating there which is another great sign. Ordering was pretty easy. After doing me best To order in Spanish I realized the lady working there spoke perfect English. Haha. I ordered a shrimp burrito with everything and 3 street tacos all to go. It took a long time for the food to come out. There was a large party order that they were getting ready so I waited a long time. It was so long that I expected them to offer me a free coffee or soda but they didn't. The food finally came and it was a solid 4. The shrimp burrito was tasty and the shrimp was cooked really well. The tacos were good too. I'll def be back next time I'm in Reno.

The tortillas and chips were so good! I'm so bummed that I live out of town otherwise I would come regularly. We came on a Sunday, it was busy- so we needed to wait for a table, only took about 5 to 10 minutes or so to be seated. The service was prompt once we were sat, the staff have really good teamwork. They have a parking lot so it wasn't difficult to find parking and the interior was spacious and clean considering how busy it was. My man ordered an asada burrito and I got the birria combo. I tried a bite of his burrito and I liked that it wasn't extremely salty like a lot of places we've been to. My birria was extremely flavorful, the rice was perfectly fluffy and the beans were on point- I don't usually finish my beans because I'm not a huge fan, but I finished these beans, that's how good they were. They also gave us complementary chips and salsa. The chips were nice, thick and fresh and the salsa wasn't too spicy so everyone is able to enjoy it. 10/10 on the food! We will definitely be back next time we're in town, hopefully it'll be just as good next time.

The bread arrives with that perfect crusty exterior and airy interior that holds up beautifully once it's "drowned" in the vibrant, slightly spicy tomato-chile sauce. The pork inside is tender and flavorful, and the balance of acidity, heat, and richness feels fresh rather than heavy. It tastes remarkably close to what you'd find in Jalisco, which makes it feel genuinely authentic rather than a watered-down version for tourists. We also got tacos dorados de papa and those were pretty amazing too. The micheladas and chavelas are just as impressive. They're crisp, well-seasoned, and perfectly chilled, with just the right amount of lime, spice, and salt on the rim. They pair incredibly well with the tortas and make the whole meal feel even more special. On top of the food and drinks, the service really elevates the experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of what they serve, checking in just enough without hovering. Overall, it's a spot that delivers on flavor, authenticity, and hospitality, making it a standout choice for anyone craving great Mexican comfort food. Will definitely be coming back.

Positively delicious. The sauce might be thin but I ended up using a spoon to slurp up every last bit of sauce after the Rellano was finished. So I was NOT at all disappointed in the Rellano. In fact, because I was still hungry I had room for their homemade Flan. I asked for extra sauce if possible. I was very pleased. There are many varieties of flan. I personally prefer a more textured variety that I refer to as Rustic. I would call this variety a very traditional SMOOTH variety. The flavor is wonderful. It was delicious.
