I'll admit I very rarely ever eat Mexican food. As a matter of fact, Mexican and Spanish food in general are my least favorite cuisine. I know I will get persecuted for saying this. :D So when an acquaintance suggested Mexican food, I Googled and came across this place. He got a burrito and I ordered the fajitas mixtas and the camarones quesadillas. The quesadillas were alright. One of the things I won't ever get used to about eating tacos is how messy it is. It's one of the things that comes with the territory. The quesadilla didn't really have much flavor. On the flipside, the fajitas mixtas was very good. I was pleasantly surprised when my brother told me this. The beef was a bit dry and the beans made the dish drop a star but otherwise, it was very flavorful. I would like to try more of the food they serve here. I will mention a couple of things that can be improved upon. For one, the tortillas were too hard. Second of all, their quesadillas could use more seasoning. read more

Truly the best tacos in Brooklyn. I've tried many from the menu and I am never disappointed. Prices are acceptable and there are beautiful murals through the restaurant that set the vibe. Service is solid, but nothing extraordinary. Definitely would recommend. read more

Food: This is a very well-known taco restaurant in Sunset Park. However, the quality of the tacos are not always consistent, but overall, they are very good and authentic. My favorite tacos are the cecina (salty beef), suadero (tender beef), and al pastor. Sometimes the meat is a bit dry and overcooked, but generally, it's very flavorful and delicious. Tacos come in a small or regular size and are served with radish, limes, green onion, and salsas on the side. Their menu is very extensive, offering tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, entrees, salads, and much more. Service: Staff are friendly and welcoming. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with many tables for both large and small groups. Decor is very simple and nothing fancy, but seating is comfortable. The place can get packed during peak meal times. Overall, I would recommend this taco place! read more

Went for a nice early dinner and was pleasantly surprised with the food. We ordered the 3 sope order (carne asada). Steak Azteca and pollo enpanizado. All three came out quite flavorful and pricing was pretty good, especially the 3 sopes for 2 dollars. Didn't get any this time but the beers are 5 dollars each so not bad priced at all. Service was good for a fairly busy Friday. read more

I was in the mood for tacos and my daughter recommended this place. We decided to eat there and the food was fresh and delicious. Steak tacos were on point. Anyone who lives in Sunset park knows this restaurant is nothing short of a neighborhood institution. With flexible long hours and fresh food at reasonable prices, there is so much to love about this neighborhood staple. Nestled right by the 45 St R train, this place has been dishing out succulent delicious tacos and I am absolutely here for it. Their truck on 5 Ave is a neighborhood gem but I also love coming here for the sit down experience. This time around I ordered chips and spicy guacamole- loved the flavors in the guac but the serving was a little small. My friend ordered tacos and their birria is my favorite. I love that they added the cheese option as well now, so do good! I went for the quesadilla trio because I heard a lot about it. My only complaint is that the quesadillas could have more cheese inside, but the beef was absolutely delicious and chock full of meat and a total dream. Their chocolate mousse cake is my favorite dessert in the neighborhood- but it always arrived frozen rock solid whether you deliver it or have it in the restaurant. They really need to stop storing that in the freezer, it completely ruins the dessert. Other than that I love that service here is always no frills and that they're open late. A true neighborhood gem!! read more

Great food. Guacamole and chips good. Service prompt. Had Al pastor plate, really good mole cheese enchiladas which came with a whole plate of rice and beans. Guacamole is 9/10, I would've liked it a bit spicier. Birria tacos were very good, the consume was on point, 8/10. Bistec encebollado portion was very small but the steak was tender and flavorful, 7/10. The waitress was meh, not very familiar with the menu. I asked her what kind of beans came with the plate , she had to go back and ask someone in the kitchen. Then she told me black beans and gave me refried beans. I wasn't a fan of refried beans, I would've asked for no beans. read more

One of the best spots for authentic Mexican food. It was a rainy day and decided to stop by the restaurant to dine in. Me and my bf got the mix green enchiladas and tacos, both were really delicious. Great service, happy people, fresh food and improv music. The service is great. Our waitress is always smelling and making our dinner so welcoming. She gave us extra salsa and chip. There are lot of space for seat service and it wasn't busy for our dinner time. Food is delicious. Someone else ordered fajita but I settle for a burrito. It's filling and good amount of food. There are so many things on the menu and I need to come back. Occasionally there will be people playing music for tip while you are eating. It's something to just accept. read more

Recently came back to eat here & tried their special (quesabirria w/ consomme) & their spicy pork tostada! We also ordered 3 al pastor tacos which was our usual! Quesabirria w/ consomme - this item was listed on their specials. WOW! I had no expectation for this, but this item wowed us! The cheese birria taco was so deeeelicious! It was super cheesey w/ super soft stewed meat (I think it was beef) that was marinated so well! That consomme was crack! I would reorder this! Highly highly recommended! Spicy pork tostada - Another must order! I loooove tostadas because of their super crunchy texture! So much textures & flavors! Super delicious! Highly highly recommended! I would reorder this again in a heartbeat! Al Pastor Tacos - I always order this because I just think their al pastor tacos are one of the best in NYC! It never disappoints & always has so much delicious flavors! It even tasted good when I dunked it in the birria consomme & added the red & green sauce! Staff was very friendly and attentive! Tons of seating inside & outside. We went on a very busy sunday during lunch time, but I was happy to see that this shop is doing very well! I want tacos el bronco to continue to be successful! read more

We were on our way from the Sheep and Wool Festival and one of my knitting buddies asked if we would be interested in getting dinner before heading home. I decided to take her up on her offer. She lives in the area and has been to this establishment. There was a slight wait but it was not a big deal. I liked the atmosphere--casual and relaxed. My friend ordered the taco al pastor and the bistec taco. I ordered the fish taco, chicken taco and taco al pastor. Since I ordered the regular-size chicken taco, I was able to get a side of guacamole. This place doesn't serve alcohol so I decided to get the juego de tamarindo and my friend got the jarrito soda. I thought the service was really good and the tacos were delicious. She also picked up some tacos for her husband. All in all, the bill came up to $20 for everything. You can't beat that with a stick! I definitely would dine here again. read more

Sunday 6/2/2024 I got a takeout order of 3 small tacos (pollo, pastor, suadero) $3 per taco and I got a torta barbacoa (goat) $10. - tacos (pollo, pastor, suadero) * the suadero was my favorite: it was tender, flavorful, and tasted authentic. * the pastor was decent and it even comes with the little pineapple peices to help add to the flavor. * the pollo wasn't bad but it was pretty underwhelming. The meat was dry and didn't have as much flavor to it when compared to the other tacos I got. - Torta barbacoa * when I first tired it, my stomach reacted poorly and I think that was due to the variety of flavors I tasted that were mainly coming from the the jalapeños and avocados that were on it (note: I'm not a fan of avocado). * once I removed those 2 toppings its was more tolerable but it was just okay. Bread was decent and the meat was average. Overall, my experience was okay but nothing special. I also wouldn't completely write it off as they do have many other dishes outside of their tacos & tortas that could be significantly better. Note: I forgot to try the sauces that came with the tacos so maybe it could've changed my opinion for the better but it is what it is. read more

Sunset Park is supposed to be where to go when you want Mexican food, tasty Mexican food. However, again, this is not San Diego, where the fish tacos are filled and fresh and have your eyes pop. This feels almost New York, big fish in a small pond review. The prices are right, the tacos are filled up to the brim, maybe a bit too excessively. The "just one more" feeling is gone after three of these. This is a pit in your stomach that is going to be accompanied by heartburn 2-3 hours from now. What saves this review is the pretty waitresses that work here and the fresh, homemade guacamole that is prepared. It tastes awesome. A lovely silky texture that would taste good even in the shower. The free chips and salsa are nice but add absolutely nothing to the experience. The salsa is watered down and the chips have next to no flavor. Keep in mind this four star review is with trepidation. They offer other Mexican offerings so if I return I will try one of those. In the meantime this four star review is a judicious one. The search continues. Or maybe I should just give up. read more

We ordered the Lengua, suadero, fish, chorizo carnitas and cabeza tacos. Not many places do cabeza tacos so we were definitely excited to see this on the menu. We ordered the large tacos so it came with the guacamole. It definitely needed the guac because all the tacos lacked flavor and tasted very similar except the fish and chorizo. I could not even tell the difference between all meats. I usually love the cabeza for its fattiness and the Lengua for its tenderness, but all the meats here were just dry. The tortilla was very good and fresh though. read more

Not good tacos and incredibly overpriced for what you get. The al pastor and bistec was forgettable. They also don't put a lot of meat on the tacos. They use the mini tortillas, and the tortillas were cold, not pliable. $3.50 for these tacos is a complete ripoff. At lease the salsa was good. I had to douse the tacos in salsa to make them edible. If you're from LA/SoCal area, these tacos are just as good as Tacos Mexico. Good enough to hit the spot if you're drunk, but not really that good during other hours. For better tacos for the same price, go to Tacos Matamoros or Jalapeños right down the street. Bigger tortillas, more protein, guacamole and they're only $3.50. read more

So the food was AMAZING my boyfriend said the birria isn't the same as the food truck in the Bronx but it's not bad. I was really excited to come here i heard many good things online about this place but I was so dissapointed with our service. For over an hour we waited on our server to come to our table so we can order dessert and we even tried to flat our waitress down she looked at us said she's coming and never came not even after us waiting for 30 more minutes we were traveling all the way from the Bronx to try this place since we love the food truck and we were honestly really annoyed by the lack of service we got. We only got our food and they ran away and never came back they ask other tables if everything was good they will just look at our table and keep walking That's why my boyfriend decided to call the waitress even then like I said she never came at the end of the dinner we just had someone else's waiter give us our bill we didn't even want dessert anymore I only left a tip because I know the chefs did a good job cooking but honestly I didn't want to stay there for the change either. Everyone looked mad that was working But the food was good and this is just my experience a lot of people had great experiences read more

Tacos de Bronco is a legendary fixture in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and often touted as one of NYC's best for a simple reason: uncompromising authenticity and flavor. Forget fusion or gentrified interpretations--this is genuine, no-frills Mexican street food. Its reputation rests heavily on its Suadero (slow-cooked brisket) tacos. The meat is exceptionally tender, juicy, and rich from hours of simmering in its own fat. Unlike many places, their operation is focused, ensuring every taco is a masterclass in balance: perfect meat, fresh onion and cilantro, and robust house-made salsas. It embodies the essence of a great taqueria: quality ingredients, masterful technique, and a genuine taste of Mexico. They don't try to be everything; they just perfect a few things. read more

After a long time fan of their food truck offering, we decided to check this out for lunch (truck is out later in the day, think early dinner til late) In the restaurant they offer two tortilla sizes for their tacos. I ordered what I usually get from the truck: 2 tacos de cabeza 2 tacos de pollo They come with the sides of spring onion, limes, cucumbers, and salsa. First time coming to this spot but i heard yhat they were an amazing taco spot and it was sooo true. We got a total of 12 tacos of 4 different varieties. Tacos that i got were: Bistec Tacos - 5/5 delicioso and simplicity that i will always order the steak tacos Pastor Tacos - 4.5/5 i really enjoyed the pineapple but not how the taste was with the guacamole Suadero Tacos - 5/5 the beef was so tender and easy to eat. Barbacoa - 4/5 this tasted a little dry, especially since the regular size did not have their guacamole to give it some sort of moisture For drinks, i got an horchata which tasted more rice-y than i prefer but it was still delicious 4/5 When i arrived the place was empty and the staff was quick to take your order and give you time to decide.
