Birria Hands (Delivered via DoorDash, cooked by Flor de Izucar) (4 stars) I've ordered from Birria Hands a few times now, and while it's branded like a virtual ghost kitchen, I actually tracked it down to the real kitchen behind it: Flor de Izucar in Brooklyn. Turns out it's a Mexican café that produces genuinely great food, especially considering how late or odd their hours are. The birria taco I got this time was fantastic, super juicy, well-seasoned meat, fresh cilantro and onion, and a tortilla that held together without falling apart. Honestly, the meat was so rich and tender it didn't even need consomé... though, if I'm being fair, I would've liked it included. That's the only reason this isn't a 5-star review. The food always tastes authentic, not like some copycat ghost kitchen operation trying to jump on a trend. It's flavorful, real-deal birria, just with a missing dip on the side. Still a go-to in my delivery rotation.

I love their drinks especially mexican hot chocolate and matcha horchata! Delicious! The oatmeal cookie was one of the best I ever had. Going to try something new on my next visit.

Ordered Delivery with Uber Eat, was hesitate bc rating and reviews were mixed btw good and bad. I want to give it a try anyway. I wasn't disappointed, the food was good. Nacho w steak is superb, not too salty. Very delightful. Birria Taco - at the first look, it looks kind of small for the price (4 for $18) but the taste is awesome. I wish the portion would be bigger, that would be lit. The burrito we haven't tried yet but it looks potential

Ordered Uber Eats from this spot on a rainy Sunday. Food was delivered securely with bag stapled shut to prevent tampering during Covid times, which I appreciate. I've been craving birria tacos for a while, so I ordered four birria tacos with the broth, and guac & chips. Total order came out to be $16 after taxes, Uber fees, and minus promos. The birria tacos did not disappoint. Tacos were a good size and they did not skim on the meat. There was protein in every bite. Dipping in the broth enhances the flavor of the taco even more.

Conchas, mini rosca and more pan dulce

Try the conchas, mini rosca and preorder the chocolate rosca! Chocolate rosca is amazing! My Mexican mother in law gave both the traditional rosca and chocolate rosca the nod, which means a lot since she is picky about Mexican food! Plenty of seating available and food in addition to bakery items. Steps away from the subway and Sunset Park.

    Huarache

if i had the option to put no stars i would , i ordered a burrito and a huarache de pollo the food was cold and also there was a hair piece on my huarache , the burrito wasn't good i should've ordered from another place and also the hot sauce was watery . so disappoinent

    $2 tamales

Tamales tamales! One of my favorite thing to eat. As I stroll along 5th ave, I was thrilled to walk into to this place with all the delicious bread on the display. What caught my attention was when the menu had tamales. There were 3 to choose from but the person working there said he has 4 for the day. I decided to try all of them especially when it's such a great deal, $2 each. As I dived into each other tamales, they were all very flavorful without any disappointment. They were all loaded with meat and stuffings.

As local as it gets in Sunset Park. I dropped in on a very late Friday evening/Saturday morning at around 12am and the bakery/restaurant was empty as can be. Considering the timing it was completely understandable. The good thing though was that the employees pointed their focus solely on our group of 5. Although the menu was actually pretty big, serving your typical Mexican fare (tacos, tortas, burritos, platters) and breakfast foods, we all decided to order a cemita because it came highly recommended from a friend. The verdict? It was OK. The cemita was fresh and warm, but nothing about it really wowed me. For those not in the know, it's a Mexican sandwich filled with beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and a meat of your choosing. We chose the Cuban version. It was a very average, pedestrian sandwich. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try anything else either. A big plus was that the 2 female employees were extremely nice to us, despite the lack of English they spoke. They never gave us an issue and were patient in taking our orders when we spoke back to them in our broken Spanish. As for the bakery, to be honest, it was a dime a dozen type of spot for me. I felt I probably could've gotten much better quality food at another Mexican restaurant, but I hate to bash a place that provides good service.

Tres leches birthday cake was perfect. Moist. Not too sweet. And incredibly delicious. 10/10 will be coming back. Staff were friendly, patient, and super considerate when we requested a cake low in sugar because my inlaws are diabetic. I rlly appreciate all your patience and support.

Hey!!!! What's wrong with this store?????? That's why I got stomachache!!!!!!!!!! Are you serious???????

I went on a Friday evening around 9:30pm. It was still fairly busy inside, but it was mostly people grabbing to-go orders. After ordering I snagged a spot at the counter. There's extremely limited seating, so I wouldn't bank on eating at the restaurant when it's busy. Be prepared to take your food to go. I got the Nene's Deluxe, which comes with a taco, a mulita, and an empanada - all with Birria of course. It was all delicious. The mulita was at the bottom of the box and got completely soaked with Birria. It was extremely messy to eat. Get plenty of napkins. I also got a side of fries and nacho cheese, because it was a long week and I deserved it. They had a seasonal strawberry horchata as well. This was okay. I also think I might just not love horchata in general. This meal definitely hit the spot. The Birria and consommé were top notch. I would return in a heartbeat.

The empanada was not like the usual closed off empanada, it was like open like a taco but instead of a taco shell, it was like the empanada dough. I didn't try the mulita yet but it was huge. Filling between two tortillas and I saw some guac filling as well. The consome was good! Not too salty - and has general pieces of meat inside the soup. The tacos were good but I felt like it lacked a little depth. I added some of the mango(?) it was a sweetish salsa and that gave it a nice little kick.

I felt dumbfounded! Nenes is something like the in n out of nyc. When my friend and I saw the storefront, the line was out the door. Many years ago back in LA, I had a mediocre cactus dish at a diner and never looked back. My friend went for a cactus mulita and I took a bite that turned into two more big ones. The cactus was crazy delicious with gobs of pull apart cheese, crispy browned edges, thick corn tortilla flavor, and spicy mango salsa, and pickled onion. When you come to nenes, you forget the line and wait. You transfigure into sheep and are happily a part of the herd.
