I went to El Jefe Tacos located in the downstairs food court. I ordered just one taco because I just wanted to try out their tacos. I ordered an Al Pastor taco, it was incredibly delicious, filled with so much flavor, hot sauce, pineapple and meat. I had something beforehand so that's why I didn't order more but it was definitely a delicious taco experience. I would recommend coming to this food court to try out the Mexican food here at El Jefe tacos. The ambiance is chill and laid-back since this restaurant is at the food court. The service was great. It was a little busy when I came here. So my order took a little long to be prepared and be ready, but it's understandable. I like the food here. Been ordering in-person and delivery since they opened at Dekalb and would normally note this business a 4 of 5 stars. However this last time I came at 1 pm on a Tuesday. It wasn't busy. 1 person at the stall was eating in the open kitchen. I waited for a few minutes until he nearly finished and finally came up while talking on his personal phone. Ordered a burrito and tipped. There were 2 other women there after my order but uncertain their role. He then proceeded to may my burrito. I chirped up asked him to wash his hands since he hadn't after watching him finish off his own tacos. He put on some gloves (didn't wash hands) and made my burrito. I then get the attached rice burrito with very little meat. Disappointing to have this guy retaliate after just asking to be clean. @theowner and @themanager need to do better training and leadership here. read more

Great addition to the Dekalb Food Court! I tried the Pollo Asado and Al Pastor both as Volcan. They were delicious with the Al Pastor being the standout with a perfect level of spice balanced by the pineapple. I like the flexibility of the menu that allows any of the five main option to be served as tacos, quesadillas, gringa, burrito, bowl, or volcan - a fried corn tortill with melted cheese which I enjoy trying for the first time. I was stuck for a bit because of how many amazing beverage options there were. You can never go wrong with a cold Jarritos or Squirt, but the apple soda and sangria also caught my eye. I actually found this place on Yelp, when we arrived I was surprised to find it was located in a food hall in the basement of a mall. While I was standing in line to order the first thing I noticed was a young lady making tortillas from scratch behind the counter. We ordered a variation of tacos and ceviche. The chicken pastor tacos were my absolute favorite. The pork tacos were equally good. I'm from miami and we have taco shops on every corner.
