My coworker has been raving about this place ever since I told her about my love for Elote. So I finally went to check them out and I was very pleased! Let me start off by saying, this place is always jumping, no matter what time you go. But the team has the place very organize. You order at one truck, they give you a buzzer and you pick up your food at the next truck. It helps the line move quickly. They also have picnic benches set up outside so you can hang with your friends and family, while enjoy the goodness. The music selection is also superb. "Suavemente" by Elvis Crespo started playing and I couldn't help myself but dance. The people behind me in line started laughing and I told them this song was one of my favorites and they joined in. Now back to the food.... I ordered the Regular Elote, 1 Chicken Taco, 1 Carne Asada Taco and a Pineapple Pouch drink. The Elote was great! I'll give It an 8/10. It was a whole corn on a stick with the regular toppings. It seems like they only boil the corn, no grilling. And I personally like when the corn is grilled. But either way It was tasty. I want to try the half and half version next time though. It is half regular and then the other side has crushed hot Cheetos. As far as the tacos, they are super tasty and packed with flavor, but they are really small for $3.95. When I ordered the chicken taco, I thought It would be grilled, but It was shredded, and I don't normally like the shredded version - but there's was really really good! You could tell that the Carne Asada taco was made with love, by the way It was well seasoned. Now when they give you tacos, sour cream doesn't come with It, but you can get It in the side for .75 cents. However they do give you a small pack of "spicy salsa" that complimented the tacos very well. The pineapple drink was my least favorite, but I hear that the Horchata is the best one. After reading this review and looking at the pictures, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in the Silver Spring area. read more

Being from Southern California, having a partner who is Mexican, and crossing the border into Mexico for day trips to eat delicious food, it was a hard transition moving to the DMV for not only authentic but yummy Mexican food. This is our favorite spot in the area when we miss home. The music is always lively and the service is great! The first time we went, we got Al Pastor, Carne Asada, and Birria tacos/quesatacos with horchata and the cucumber lime agua fresca. On our second trip, we got Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos and a Carne Asada torta with Jamaica and Horchata. The torta was fantastic. All of the fixings really made it delicious. Our favorite meat from this place is the Carne Asada. Everything else we tried was also pretty good. We would skip the birria next time, it's not particularly our favorite. First off I want to start by saying how beautiful and spacious their seating area is. I had no idea this place existed until I looked up "tacos near me on Yelp". I am Mexican, grew up eating authentic Mexican confort food all my life. My mom has worked in the food business all her life to. We know simple, authentic flavors. We ordered the tacos de birria and tacos de carne asada. The carne asada tacos were great, not your typical authentic tacos, but the meat was so tender and the tortilla did not get soggy or dry. Very good. The birria was good. It did have garbanzos and rice which completely changed the flavor of a traditional birria consomé. Birria consomé is simple and full of flavor, I felt like this birria lacked that punch. I am curious to try their Al pastor. There is nowhere in the area that can make a descent Al pastor. We make it at home and nowhere have we been able to find anything similar. I'd love to try all their tacos! Love their atmosphere and presentations. Needless to say when friends gave a thumbs up with photos of lines upon lines in a pandemic, we surely had to make the trek to try. We pre-ordered on a Wednesday morning for pickup on Sunday early afternoon (at the time I'm writing this, they have not opened daily and are parked right in the Sunoco Gas Station) Birria and Al Pastor. SO.Darn.Delicious- Both of them if you're asking. Al Pastor was moist not dry (but not excessively juicy to have the meat fall out of the tortilla- hubby hates that), enough sweet to spice ratio, not overloaded with onion and cilantro, AND a nice thin slice of pineapple on top. I'd never tried Birria before and the consume they provided was just a heavenly concoction to dip the taco- not overly greasy, almost reminds of a french dip sandwich, but Mexican style! (Sorry in advance if the analogy offends anyone, it's the only one my fuzzy brain can come up with). Hubs is from SoCal where you can get some seriously *good* tacos and he said these were legit...so legit that he's requested them for dinner next Saturday. We also got 2 bags of Chicarrones de Harina (fried chips that come with a tangy salsa, Almost like a deconstructed hot Cheetos) at $2 a pop (a tad on the pricey side), but everyone gobbled them up. I've tried many taco spots in the area and this has been my favorite so far. The menu is so fun with all the different antojitos, postres, birria, quesatacos, and a good torta menu. The carne asada tacos were perfectly filling and both the green and orange salsas were packed with flavor. We didn't realize the chicken tacos would be quesatacos so we definitely over-ordered, but they were good too. I do wish that they had pollo asado since I prefer it to tinga. My fiancé really enjoyed the elote, and next time we'll have to try more of their appetizers. They have a good ordering system going on, with two separate windows for ordering and pickup, and a buzzer that lets you know when your food is ready. We didn't have to wait long for food, and there is plenty of seating available with colorful tables and big umbrellas that came in clutch when it started raining. I returned to this place to try a torta b/c I love any kind of sandwich. Got the al pastor torta and quickly got home to dig in. Most sandwiches don't travel well, but this one held up OK. As with most tortas, they are stuffed with a lot of ingredients, and this one was too. On the firs bite, everything came tumbling down haha, but you just stuff it all back in, and keep grubbing. I've had many great tortas, but this one was just OK. The meat and other toppings weren't very flavorful. The pineapple seemed like an afterthought and wasn't grilled with the meat at all. We stopped by for a drink midday. My husband was skeptical of this "taco truck" but this business is far from just a taco truck. There are four or five trucks making different things on the menu. This place is a must stop if you're around the area. A unique set up that is typically rare for this area. It's located by a gas station where you have two trucks one where you order and other where you pick up! The seating is spacious with great music being played while you wait for your order. Kind of reminds of spots in LA. The food itself was great. I love when spots give you the option to order more tacos for a slight discount. I always try the Birria tacos no matter where I go but surprisingly I enjoyed the carne asada tacos better than the Birria ones. The packaged salas and consume were great. First time here on Cinco de Mayo and it's a very elaborate permanent taco truck. Lots of people in line but moved very quickly and they had a good system. I went twice in the past 30 days and the food was amazing both times!!!! The birria tacos and birria quesadilla with consome is soo good. My friend had the chorizo quesadilla and she loved it as well. The quesadilla portions are really big. If you have leftovers it can be easily reheated in the oven. Back to the food, I'm not sure where they get their cheese and tortillas from but it is definitely different than what I had before at other establishments. It's like a perfect combination of buttery, flaky, and crispy. Also, the green sauce they provide tastes great with the tacos and quesadillas. Additionally, they have a variety of fresh juices. My brother orders 2 tamales, one verde and one mole, the only options they have at the moment. I tried the carne asada, tinga de pollo, and al pastor. Each taco came with sauce but the tacos were full of flavor so it really wasn't needed. As someone who lives in Miami and has eaten tacos at a number of spots, this was one of the best carne asada, if not the best, I have ever tasted. I also enjoyed the al pastor. I wasn't the biggest fan of the tinga de pollo, but I'm not a fan in general. I prefer a grilled chicken option, which they didn't have. There did seem to be an issue with expediting orders in that people who ordered more food after us got their food before we did. Unsure about what happened there. Nonetheless, I'd definitely go back for more. You can also place online orders. People were sitting in the cold eating their tacos or in their car. They also make quesadillas and fresh made juices.
