These tacos are tasty, authentic and big. The barbacoa and cabeza tacos are standouts, I can't remember ever having barbacoa and cabeza tacos that were better. The meat in all the tacos is juicy, fresh and delicious. Eating inside is a great experience. They have a self-serve salsa bar with some delicious salsas and cucumbers, they have Mexican music playing energetically and there is a steady stream of people coming in and out that seem to really enjoy the food. Great vibes all around. Like I mentioned, these tacos are big. Four tacos is all you need to get full here, ordering more than that may be a mistake. I personally prefer street tacos to be smaller, but to each their own. I would also pass on the chorizo, not much going on there. My coworker got this recommendation from her dads friend, and these tacos were legit. I ordered the carne asada and Al pastor tacos. Carne asada tacos had a nice char grill taste to them and the Al pastor tacos were flavorful. Don't forget to grab some cilantro and onions because they don't come with them on the tacos. Tucked away in a corner strip mall at Dayton/Parker, it's easy to go right past Tacos DF. If you like tacos or pozole, this would be a mistake. You can expect tasty tacos and other items done Mexico City-style, as the name implies. They offer suadero, not common around places I frequent, tasty pina-laden pastor, and above average asada, to name a few. Huaraches, tamales, enchiladas, and gordita are other items available. The star for us has been pozole. It tastes like memories of Tuesdays in Guerrero, when the pozole flowed like wine, or something like that. Quality's on point, portions are plenty big, tacos, too. Delicious Mexican food in a strip mall just off Parker and Dayton. They offer fillings that are less common than most taco shops. We tried the barbacoa tacos as well as the chilanga sandwich with steak and Mexican sausage. It's like a torta but slightly different. Their quesadilla was really tasty and different as a home-made corn tortilla is used in lieu of the flour that most restaurants use. I had the chicharron prensado (bacon) which is something I don't see very often. It was smoky, slighly chewy and very good. The salsa bar is awesome with four types of salsa (one is a guacamole), cilantro, onions, limes, radish, spicy onion and jalapeno mix, pickled carrots and peppers, etc. Friendly staff. The pork tacos were delicious and the reason for the 3 stars. The beans were a tad salty. The rice was ok. Unfortunately, the chicken was very fatty. The flan was clearly old and burnt. It tasted so bad I only ate 2 bites. However, the biggest issue was their floors. Sure, there was what looked like the days worth of food on the floor which would have just been an end of a rush. However, at closer glance I realized all the way around the room is black gunk. It almost completely ruined my desire to even try the food, but I did so that this could be a complete review. Tacos DF, it's been 36 hours, but we are still dreaming of you. We ate at House of Bread (in the same shopping center) right before we came, but we still wanted to squeeze in two tacos. We ordered the al pastor (pork) and la cabeza (head). Al Pastor: Marinated to perfection. It was so fresh that within my first bite I'm pretty sure I burnt my mouth w/ the oil. Worth it? Yes x1000. I topped mine off w/ the green salsa, radishes, cilantro, and lime from the self-serve bar. La Cabeza: I've never seen my husband's head tilt to a 175 degree angle before and his eyes closed so tightly while eating a taco. The end. Jk. In his words - "It is so fatty. So good. Wow! Wow! Wow! I used to live down the street from this place and I never tried. Now I live 30+ minutes away and finally tried and I am upset because of all the times I should've been eating here. These tacos were crazy good.... The carnitas and cabeza were so flavorful and tender. The onions and cilantro bring it to a next level and the salsa is amazing!! I cannot wait to go back. I definitely would give both tacos a 10/10, I licked my plate clean AND I'll get four different tacos next time. I also got their carne asada burrito that was on the salty side but I still enjoyed it, but I'll definitely get it without cheese next time. Btw their carne asada is also amazing and nicely seasoned. This past weekend we were itching for Mexican and I suggested this place as a 'what the heck'. Well, this 'what the heck' was and is a winner! I have always seen Tacos DF but never stopped in. This past Saturday, my sister, my boyfriend, and I were hungry after a sipping and painting night. Tacos DF was still open and it was on the way to my sister's house, so we decided to try them. They have a full menu, but when you have tacos in your name, I'm going to order tacos. I ordered 1 tripe and 1 tongue with a bowl of menudo. My boyfriend ordered 2 carne asada tacos and 1 barbacoa and my sister ordered 1 tongue (because of me) and 1 barbacoa. We also ordered horchata mexicana. We were not disappointed in the least. The tacos were so yummy and although they looked small, they were so filling. The menudo was also perfect. They also have a fresh salsa bar. I must warn you, their salsas and pickled veggies are super spicy. I like a lot of spice, but some of the salsas were like war in my mouth. umm why did my tacos come bare? it was just chicken. I had higher hopes considering how these reviews were positive.

DTF $2 Barbacoa (lamb) tacos and Cabeza (cow head) was tender with good portion. Al Pastor was crunchy and fresh but did not come with the usual pineapples. The lettuce and cheese is a $.25 extra charge which I don't really care for anyways. The price is a bit more than other small taco joints but the service was fast with plenty of seating. Next I will try me some home made chichaaron Gordita. Menu is pretty extensive with posole, menudo, Pambazos, Tortas, and Tamales. The salsa bar was lacking but the tacos were definitely street worthy. read more

One of the better hole in the wall places I have found in Denver for Mexican food, and it's tiny too, seats maybe 20 people or so. The staff seem friendly, I'm sure they would have been a little more friendly had there not been a language barrier. The food was good though, I got 3 tacos; beef, pork, and chorizo and my wife got the 3 taquito platter. The tacos were very good, and loaded with meat. Ok so the food is pretty bomb!! First the staff dpeaks close to no English so come in prepared if you can. Also, there is a $5 minimum if you're using a credit or debit card. The menu is in Spanish as well so again come in with some Spanish under your belt or don't and just try to order anyways! This night I was with my family so we ordered different things. Our kiddo ate a burrito de pollo (chicken burrito) and the wife and I bought tacos. I had tacos de frijoles and arroz (weird but so good). My wife got tacos de asada. Now to get salsas and toppings there is a small bar cart. It had at least three salsas, cilantro, onions, etc. available for your food. We got the avocado creamy salsa and the red salsa along with the chopped onions and cilantro. Everything was so good!! I definitely will come back. The place needs a little touch up inside, you can tell it's been here a while. The food is served on styrofoam plates so I would like to have seen more traditional appeal. I have driven past this hideaway almost daily for ten years.....and now that I've found it I feel like I've missed out on part of what life is; STREET TACOS!!!! When you walk in your greeted by loud Mexican music from the kitchen and Univision television on the tv- fantastic signs of a great Street taco joint!
