First time here with a friend. We both ordered Cochinita Pibil, the three taco flight. Server came back and they only had enough for one of us. They were also out of El Pastor so friend ordered the Chivo Cabrita ( shredded goat). We shared the tacos to experience the flavors. First bite of shredded goat friend got a sizable bone (WTF). No broken tooth. The Pibil was tasty. Salsa was spicy and hot. Guess chips are extra. We both ordered Flan and it was excellent. Nice casual ambience. Food preparation was not on the money. This is a small strip center restaurant that was quiet when we went in. The restaurant is clean and the prep line looked very clean. This is counter order, with a very decent selection of. They had fresh vegetables and fresh nopales. I ordered the carnitas burrito and the Elotes in a bowl, my wife had the Taco flight. My burrito was ok, nothing special but had a mild flavor. The taco flight carnitas and ground beef tacos. The meat on the tacos were tasty and fresh. The highlight was the elite bowl. WOW, fresh corn grilled to order with more flavor than expected. Since there was only one person working who did both the cashier and cooking, it took awhile to get service because he was hanging out in the back rather than waiting in the front. Upon deciding what we wanted, he informed us that they were out of 3 different meat options; two of those options were things that my crony and I wanted. Due to that, I got a flight of 3 ground beef tacos and a carne asada quesadilla. The menu says that the flights come with 3 tacos but one of those only comes with 2 tacos instead. I decided to try this place for a late lunch, thinking that since it was near a high school the lunch hour might be busy. I was wrong even later there was still the school kids hanging out drinking sodas.. The place was loud and just not a good atmosphere for enjoying lunch. I ordered shrimp tacos with a beer, the beer was good, the tacos not so much. There was nothing to like about this place. It wasn't clean, the food was not good, overpriced and terrible environment. Tacos Chisco is a casual small taco restaurant located in North Phoenix. They are open seven days a week and offer breakfast, tacos, bowls, salads, elote, burritos, quesadillas, kid's meals, soft beverages, aguas frescas, margaritas, paletas and more. They have around five indoor tables and one table outside. They just opened this week and I feel Yelp should add a just opening alternative rating. We tried a variety of tacos and none were bad.......All were good but some were better than others (asada, carnitas, pibil, pollo). Both of us thought that the chicken tacos was the best of what we tried because it was the most flavorful and delicious. The people there were extra nice and the restaurant seemed sparkling clean. This place was a huge disappointment. They took so long to make our order that it was closing time when we got it (so almost a 35 minute wait for 5 small tacos, which means we had to take it to-go and I couldn't talk to anyone about how bad the food was). I got a carne asada taco and a bean and cheese taco (pictured) and this is what I got. The carne asada taco had nothing on it. I did ask for no cilantro, but I kept everything else. It was dry and didn't taste good. The bean one tasted a bit bitter. My husband had a nopales taco and I had a bite and it was gross. Overly slimy (I know cactus has a slimy texture, but I've had it before and this was one really really slimy). We ordered a tres leches for dessert (pictured) and I have no idea what we were given. It was super dry, no milk sauce at all (I'm Hispanic, and I know a real tres leches should be swimming in that sauce). Finally they charged us for a fountain drink knowing that it was broken. If we knew we weren't going to be able to eat there, we would have waited for drinks until we got home. There is no way I'll come back here. read more

Great Taco Shop This was our first visit to Tacos Chisco. The staff are very welcoming and accomdating, the restaurant is clean, and the tacos are amazing. The food is fresh, made to order, and cooked right in front of you. On this visit we ordered, chicken burrito, Cochinita Pibil (shredded pork) tacos, carne asada tacos, and elote. Everything was delicious. The meats were tender, moist and flavorful and the salsa was a perfect compliment. Staff was professional, service was exceptional, prices are reasonable and food is amazing. Can't recommend this place enough. Stop in you won't be disappointed. read more

This is the best taco place I have found so far in the upper west side of Phoenix (Glendale/Peoria/North Phoenix). When i say that, I am speaking primarily of the Cochinita Pibil tacos. That is all there needs to be on this menu. They are SO good! The flavors are immense, and the guac sauce, the red onion and a litlte bit of habanero slivers is amazing on top! Shoot some lime on it, and it is simply the best I've had around. I think these Chochinita Pibil tacos are better than Barrio Cafe and Barrio Queen. Great tacos! The tacos are about $4.00 a piece but you get a LOT of meat, maybe even two tacos worth. The red salsa and the green salsa are so flavorful and have just the right amount of spice. There is also a guacamole sauce that taste great on the tacos. The Horchata was sweet and cold. I wish they had some side options like rice or beans or chips and salsa. Oh yeah, they do have Elote cups, really good. I did. bring up to the owner that the only thing the tacos were missing is cucumber slices. This restaurant is quite new to the area. We ordered chicken tacos. These flour tortilla street tacos come three to an order for $10 and are definitely worth the money. Most food is made to order, although I'm not sure about the chicken, since ours was a bit dry. They were still very tasty. In addition to tacos, the menu includes fajita bowls, street corn, cactus and other items that differentiates this taco shop from others. I love local businesses and support them whenever possible. Omg the shrimp tacos are to die for!!!! Absolutely love them! The sauce is soooo good, and the shrimp tastes so fresh. My second fav is the am pastor since they have nice sized pieces of pineapple, but not too overpowering. I also love that they have bowls with delicious fresh veggies and black beans for a lighter option, but definitely don't skip the tacos!!! They also have a Mexican Cesar salad that is really good to up the veggie count but the only downside is that it has way too much Parmesan. It would be better if it had some avocado or cilantro in it, but it's still a pretty good salad. read more

Several weeks ago I placed a very large online order to be picked up for a very important client meeting the following day. The day of the meeting, I was informed the restaurant experienced a glitch in their online ordering system. My order was essentially delayed by one hour and 20 minutes. During that time, the people attending my scheduled lunch meeting decided to forgo lunch and our meeting since I was not there. As such, I lost out on my opportunity to conduct business with numerous hard to see clients. I discussed this matter with the owner and the only thing she could do for me was offer me a free meal. I found this to be a poor way to respond to what happened and an insult to me as a customer who played a very large order from this business. I never had a chance to try out the food because my meeting was cancelled for my no show. I can't give you any feedback as to its taste and quality. Be very mindful this is a new operation and they need to work out any kinks and especially fix their relations with their customers. The restaurant staff performed admirably in putting together my order on such short notice. The problem lies with ownership and how she conducts business. read more
