My bf and I came here for weeknight lunch. There were a handful of small tables seating 2-4 inside and outside. You order at the front and go to the pickup window when your food is ready. I didn't see self-serve water or napkins anywhere; luckily, I had brought my own. Free chips and salsa were also provided upon pickup. The salsas were good. My favorite was the mild green salsa, followed by the mild tomato salsa, then the spicy orange salsa. Tacos were about $3.75 each and $4.25 for shrimp. It was pretty expensive for street tacos, and the double tortillas were essential to stretch the small amount of meat. The flavor of the corn tortilla took over about halfway into the tacos. The tortillas didn't taste fresh due to the slightly sour taste. But we did go at 7 pm (1 hour before closing), so maybe that's why. - Carne asada taco: best meat flavor, but not my favorite carne asada. - Carnitas taco: best meat texture with the crispy bits, but I couldn't really taste the pork. - Potato taco: tasted good. The potatoes were mashed and seasoned with something making them slightly orange. - Shrimp taco: the first bite tasted great, but consecutive bites mainly tasted like corn tortilla and the creamy sauce on top. I also had a bite of my bf's carne asada torta with everything on it. He enjoyed it, but I thought it was just okay because the inside was too wet for me. Since they pressed the sandwich like a panini, the bread was crispy with a slight chew. I might have preferred it unpressed. read more

Had this place last week. It's in a small shopping center but you shouldn't have any trouble with parking. Inside has about 4 tables but it seems like most people get it to go so seating also wont be an issue. I ordered a torta with horchata and while I was waiting they gave me nachos with sauce. The nachos were good and some of the sauces were delicious. The torta was average. It's not bad but iv definitely had better. Would this be my go to Mexican food spot if im hungry or craving? No. Would I eat here if im next to it and hungry but short on time? Yes Everything from service to business location and parking was great, food was mid. Super friendly service. I went to Kaiser for an appointment and yelped near by taco spots and came to this place. I was in a hurry as my daughter's lunch is at 12:10 and wanted to pre order. The lady was so nice, I paid and waited less than 10 mins. I like spicy stuff and asked for jalapeños. The cook was so nice he fried me an extra set of jalapeños which he went above and beyond. I will be returning to this place and I recommend the meat quality you won't be disappointed. read more

I ordered a carne asada burrito today, and the food was absolutely disgusting. The meat tasted old and refried, and when my mom mentioned it, the owner dismissively said, "a lot of people ask for refried meat," but nobody goes to a restaurant to eat old, reheated meat. He was extremely rude and condescending. As an emergency department registered nurse, I know this type of food handling is exactly how people end up with food poisoning. To make matters worse, when I called prior to my mom speaking to the owner, Karla (an employee) told us we would receive a refund, but when I showed up, the owner refused. I once liked this place, but the experience I had was shocking. Who treats their customers like that, and who thinks serving old meat is okay? I will not be returning, and I strongly caution others to avoid this place. read more

I'm a picky white girl and I was in the area craving a breakfast burrito I ordered the Machaca burrito and really enjoyed the flavors. The egg was perfect, the beans were tasty and the pico de gallo was fresh and delicious. Just the right amount of cheese. My wait was just a few minutes. SO delicious! We were at the zoo, and the kid wanted tacos. Sounded good to me, so Yelp brought us 6 minutes away. It's in a strip mall with ample parking. They have two 2-person tables outside, and 5 or 6 inside. We were met with a standard, but sufficient menu. We were also met with fabulous attentive service. She greeted us, answered questions helpfully, was proactive about offering water, came out to clean tables, and offered smiles. We were served chips and salsa. Some of the best salsa I've had! We both got tacos. The kid got chicken. I got shrimp. He dug in immediately with an, "Mmmm." I tasted mine, which were definitely an, "Mmmm" as well. Delicious and worth returning! read more

Small little place in a tiny strip mall. Mexican food, liquor store, Halal Market, European Pastry Shop, Jewelry store, etc... a real multi-purpose corner strip mall with cramped parking. You'll need to maneuver your car into the many angled spots. Tacos Cancun is mostly a take-out place that has some tables if you want to eat there. You order at one window and pick up at the second window. Service is prompt and polite. I had the Two Fish Taco Combo which comes with rice, beans, chips and salsa. Also ordered a large Horchata with limited ice. The fish chunks were tasty on the soft corn tacos. Overall, good tasty food, not overly expensive, quick and polite service on Christmas Eve afternoon. I was near the area because I was waiting for traffic to die down and it was about time to eat, so after looking around at a few places I decided to go here! First of all, this place gives off mom and pop shop vibes (i love this vibe very much). Worker was very friendly and helpful in helping me decide what to get. I settled for the fish taco combo (comes with rice and beans). Chips were also included. I also was craving carne asada fries so... had to splurge and get that too . Food was great! I really enjoyed this entire meal. Flavors were on point. The only downside (more about preference) is the cheese used on the fries. Im not the biggest fan of liquid cheese but other than that, the fries were crispy, the carne asada was moist and flavorful, and that guacamole was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a no frills, mom and pop style mexican meal! read more

I ordered a California burrito and in the description it said it comes with sour cream. I told the worker if she can give me a side of sour cream and wanted to charge me $2 something. I said nvm. I double check the description and I told her it was supposed to come with it & she refused to acknowledge the fact it didn't have it when I showed her the burrito. She was so rude to me by her attitude saying it's in the middle of the burrito. I literally got a fork and started digging to show her!!! She gave me a little tiny container with the width of a quarter and she kept eyeing me the whole time I was dinning here with my son. I never felt so uncomfortable in a taco shop. Seeing all these good reviews motivated me to go! However I can attest this was not my greatest experience. I ordered a quesadilla with Jamaica and my partner ordered a torta with horchata. After receiving the order, they gave me the wrong plate. They gave me a burrito instead. I told them I asked for a quesadilla and they changed it. But the drinks were so so sad. Both the horchata and Jamaica were soo watered down. I might have as well just drank water. I was so disappointed. Also I've never had a quesadilla that was messy for me to eat and as for my partner's torta, he said the bread wasn't good at all. Both our foods were flavorless and bland. Again for a place with good reviews, I'm disappointed and I would've left the food as it is but my partner and I were hungry and already paid for. We only took a few bites and left it alone. I was eyeballing that fancy veggie burrito before I read a Yelper asserting this as the best breakfast burrito found in LA. And, while those are big words, this burrito is a serious contender. Crisp, seasoned meat, creamy beans with cheese & rice all wrapped up in a warm, pliant tortilla grilled just right. It scratched that burrito itch and then some! And, not to be outdone, so many Yelpers sang the praises of the fish tacos that I just had to try a few. Boy-howdy! These fish tacos are on point! Grilled fish, slaw and a mayonnaise sauce. I came here during my lunch break, and was very disappointed. I am not sure how this place has so many good reviews. I ordered the #5 which included 1 fish taco, and 1 shrimp taco. It also came with rice and beans. It cost $10, which would have been fine if it was any good. Unfortunately the both tacos were horrible, and barely had any fish/shrimp in there. All I could taste was the tortillas, cabbage and sauce. The tacos were unnecessarily greasy, and the beans and rice was also disappointing. It was 94 degrees that day and the restaurant did not have any air conditioning, and had the doors open. This made it very hot inside and allowed for flys to come inside. This was a horrible experience and I will not be returning. It was a waste of $10 and I felt sick after. read more

They are not busy and my best guess is that it's due to the location because their food is great. The Burrito came out very delicately presented and ready for me to devour, the sauces were quite delicious, very homemade tasting, and with complex chile flavors. Have been coming to this place whenever we crave for some Tortas. My old office was just few minutes walk to this place. The shop is in a small shopping complex. Parking is not a problem as such, but it does get busy nearing weekend. Its an family owned business. The cashier is a sweet lady, she is always smiling & helpful. The shop is cute & little. The insides of the shop reminded us of Cabo,hehe. They even have vegetarian options available which is a win win situation for us. You can even tweak the order to make it vegetarian.We ordered their:- 2 order of Tortas $11.90- As usual they were yum. California Burritos $8- We tried this for the first time & OMG guys, its yumm. The filling is of french fries, sour cream, cheese & steak, but we omitted the meat & replaced it with beans ($0.50 extra for beans). The tortilla was nicely cooked. Solid four stars, closer to 4.5. First time here so wasn't sure what to expect. Got a potato taco and two grilled fish tacos. Potato taco was delicious. The grilled fish tacos were just a tad bit heavy on the salt, but they had great flavor and thanks to the double tortillas I was nice n full! My neighborhood Mexican spot. I stop by every time I'm done nearby at the mall. It's worth the extra few blocks, even with all the other restaurant choices nearby. The staff is always friendly and fast. My usual includes the ceviche and a couple of tacos. They also make a super yummy shrimp salad with sooo much avocado goodness. I got it once and was surprised by how big the salad was. I'd get it again but the ceviche alone is usually enough to fill me up. I'm all for taco trucks but I really love this little shop. The chorizo breakfast burrito is the best chorizo I've had in my entire life. It isn't greasy at all!! The ham breakfast burrito is everything you want from a ham breakfast burrito! This is a bit of a hole in the wall type restaurant. WITH AMAZING MEXICAN FOOD. I've gone here like 5 times. They are quick, very very nice people and food is EXCELLENT and affordable! You definitely get your money's worth. You can ask for it "mojado" or wet and they will put the salsa or your choosing cheese and sour cream on top. SO YUMMY. They also add chips and salsa FOR FREE on to go meals and dine in. Close to the Americana and galleria malls. There is parking outside.
