Flavorful! Both me and my wife were very happy with this stop along the river walk. Hard to beat good Mex food while taking the views off Chicago next to the river.

Shame on you TacoRio! You guys should have your food license revoked. We tried your steak tacos and in all my life of living on this planet, we have never ever had a worse expiration. The Steak was dryer then a dogs turd, more chewy then a burnt tire. And if that wasn't bad enough the flavor on steak was soooo salty it might as well have been seasoned with piss of a dehydrated animal. SHAME ON YOU! How dare you guys serve this horse crap to humans, i wouldnt feed this food to my worst enemy. Never coming back again.

Great place to eat with a view :)

Came here on a whim and so very glad I did. Great food, strong drinks, good vibes! This place recently updated their menu and mostly serves tacos.

Just enjoying the cocktail and beer with a great view. Enjoy the experience watching the boats going by. Service has shown hospitality to Chicago.

The views of this location are top tier... can't beat a Riverwalk experience with a Margarita (and semi) good food. To start, the service was spectacular - the guy making our Margarita gets this Yelp Review more points. Thank you Margarita bartender man! Now the food, I would say the fries were pretty good size, nothing crazy just some waffle fries you can get anywhere else. The tacos, same thing, very mid, nothing too crazy. I would say... I'm definitely coming back in the future just for the views/location and awesome Margarita Bartender. Like bruhh, look at my picture. Beauty. Coming back just for drinks and hopefully visiting during a Happy Hour! Thank you TacoRio, I'll see you soon. Personal Review: 7.8/10

Had a summer fun day along the Riverwalk and downtown and decided to stop by Taco Rio. The tacos were really good, just a little pricier than usual since it is downtown. The crowd was great, the views were beautiful, and there was plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. They also had a restroom available, which was convenient. Service was pretty quick, music was playing, and overall it was a fun time with a great vibe.

After walking around Chicago we came across Taco Rio on the Chicago river bank. We figured we would give it a shot. I ordered the Chicago Dog and some tacos. Both where filled with a lot of favor and spice. The service was fast and friendly. The outside dining along the river was relaxing and enjoyable. I would recommend with place for a quick bite.

Great views of downtown Chicago. Outdoor seating with some covered spaces. Self serve water station. Halfway clean bathrooms. Key code for bathroom door. My spouse had the shrimp nachos and they were massive. I could not have any due to a shellfish allergy, but she said they were amazing. I had to steak tacos on flour tortillas with onions and cilantro, and they were great. We didn't notice until later there was a sauce or salsa station they don't really help you out with that. You just order at the table and they bring it out when it's ready. Had to wander around and find the silverware napkins as well, but it was fine. They do have some alcohol selections. For what we got, the price was steep, but it's also Chicago when you were paying for the downtown river views. It's all good.

The service was OK. The person that took my order was very confused and had a hard time understanding my request. The Taco Al Pastor was sold out so I had to settle to order a chicken taco instead which was not my first choice. The location was perfect being on the river, providing great people watching and a nice breeze. The guacamole and chips were very tasty with a lot of crispy tortilla chips and a substantial amount of guacamole. The Chicago dog had tomatoes, mustard, onions, pickles, relish, celery and sport peppers which added a substantial spicy kick to the traditional Chicago dog. A little too spicy. The Right Bee Semi Dry Cider was refreshing with a cup of ice. The prices were expensive, which is to be expected while in downtown Chicago.

This place of course has the best views being right in the riverwalk. This is a perfect spot to grab a bite to eat and drink and chat with a date or friends - especially when the weather is nice. I will say that when I went the line was pretty long and it took a minute for the food to be ready so definitely prepare for that. The drink line was separate from the food line as well just an fyi. The drinks were just okay & the tacos were decent + everything was a bit pricey but that kinda comes with the riverwalk spots.

TacoRio wins points for location -- right on the Riverwalk with beautiful views that make it feel like the perfect taco stop. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I had two shrimp tacos that were just okay (nothing memorable), though I will say the Agua Fresca was delicious and worth a try. What left a bad taste was the happy hour confusion. The sign clearly said Monday-Friday, but the staff told me it's actually Monday-Thursday and didn't honor the posted specials. For a place in such a prime spot, the details matter. Mediocre tacos + incorrect signage + slightly overpriced = a 3-star experience for me. Great for a quick drink with a view, but I'll keep hunting for my go-to Riverwalk taco fix.

2 shrimp tacos and 1 carne asada

So we were looking for a quick lunch option and we said tacos. So we went to TacoRio. We had 3 tacos each. And I had a Paloma. The tacos were great. 2 shrimp tacos, 1 Al pastor, and 3 carne asada. A little pricey but it's on the Chicago Riverwalk with beautiful views. So I'm not complaining that much. I definitely recommend the spot. You won't be disappointed.

Mediocre food with high price tag. The view is nice and so was the live music. That's about it.

Evelyn greeted us right away and placed my order. I asked for spicy salsa so she recommended the gobernador salsa which was a green spicy salsa made with poblanos. Evelyn was so sweet! She gave my puppy a treat and also brought out a bowl of water for him while we waited for the food. The inside of the restaurant was really cute and colorful and they had a separate bar area for drinks. I decided to order a spicy michelada with Pacifico beer while waiting. The bartender was super nice and made my drink quickly. It was the perfect amount of spice and was so refreshing! My burrito came out quick for how packed the inside of the restaurant was. The burrito was a good size and was so fresh and tasty! The gobernador salsa was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try something different and this time dine in.

I ordered the Paloma, and my husband got the Michelada, both super refreshing and made well. For food, I ordered the El Gringo with rice and salad. I definitely wish I had swapped the salad for beans, because my husband got both rice and beans, and I ended up finishing my rice and helping with his too lol. Highly recommend this dish, just go for the beans instead of the salad! My husband also ordered three tacos: Al Pastor, Chorizo, and Carne Asada, all of which were really good. One of the fun touches is that they have QR codes at the table to leave a Google review, and if you do, you get to spin a prize wheel. Of course I had to try it, and it made the whole experience even more fun. I ended up winning a free double shot! The staff were all super friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the music gave it a fun, vibrant atmosphere. I'd definitely come back!
