    Chips & Chipotle Queso

Very convenient location near my hotel. I was looking for Mexican food nearby and the prices were reasonable. Upon arriving I was greeted by the hostess who gave me a few options for seating. I chose the far end of the bar just to get away from the front door because the temperature is freezing. The bartender greeted me immediately and made me a tasty cocktail "My Sister's a Horchata". It was refreshing and delicious. It definitely helped tame the spice level of the food. For dinner I ordered the Chips & Chipotle Queso and Borderland Brisket Tacos. You get 2 tacos per order and cannot mix/match. The tacos were stuffed with brisket and served with a side of salsa. The brisket was tender, the queso was spicy and yummy. I ended up putting the pieces of brisket on my chips so they def should think about adding brisket nachos to the menu. Overall service was good. The bartender Dan was nice and accommodating. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Chicago.

Great tacos, good drinks, ok beer, awful service from some but others are pretty good. If you're going somewhere for beers this is not the place. If you're stuck downtown and can't get to a neighborhood then this is a great spot for tacos, Service is split between very nice and some people who really should not be customer facing. When we were there twice in one evening before and after a play, we had great service from most but a waitress named Sam decided she didn't need to worry about bumping into us if we were remotely in her way. I did not realize it was her place we were intruding in. Other than her the staff seemed nice and if the place isn't busy it's a decent place to go.

Great little spot in the loop with a simple menu. Stopped in with my wife and we shared a plate of nachos which by themselves is a meal for two - you will get your money's worth. Got couple cocktails - one was lit on fire. Ended the night by splitting a huge burrito. This is a full service restaurant with funky/ vibrant decor.

Came in on a thursday night after long flights into chicago. We stayed at the Arlo and this location was just steps away around the corner. Great vibes inside very colorful. We sat at the bar ordered drinks and food, the server was a little slow to come to attention but overall a good experience. The food AMAZING. the bidi bidi burrito TOP TIER! all the food was very flavorful and tasty. We actually wanted to order take out a couple days later but it was a sunday and the kitchen was closed for the night (9pm). super bummer but again soo good we wanted more! will def come again when we visit again.

This is such a great little spot. The bright bull designs covering every inch of the space are fantastic--so fun and energetic. The restaurant has a great vibe, the service is excellent, and the food was delicious. My husband and I shared the Nacho Mama's nachos and the Bidi Bidi burrito. The nacho portion is huge. I might even gamble and say it's the best nacho deal in the area. For $18, I bet three people could easily share it. The Bidi Bidi burrito was also very good--stuffed full and flavorful. Both dishes have a kick. A real kick. Overall, it's a great little spot to grab a drink, enjoy some tasty food, and soak in the fun atmosphere.

We were going to a show at Chicago Theatre on Saturday. I started looking for reservations on Wednesday. Most restaurants in the area were already booked, naturally. We lucked into a reservation at Broken English Taco Pub. Our reservation was for 5:30. We arrived right on time. There was a line at the door. Those without reservations were told there would be a wait. Thankfully someone asked if anyone in line had a reservation and I raised my hand high... "Me, me!" We were seated by the window and I was looking out the window so didn't get to enjoy the ambiance. It seemed to have a hip, Mexican vibe. There were actually several empty tables, but in short order the place was fully packed! Our server was super sweet and helpful. We started with Chips and Salsa - salsa verde & chile de arbol ginger salsa, house made chips. The chips were warm and both of the sauces were fantastic for dipping. From what I recall, neither was especially spicy. We went with a 12-pack because it's cheaper and taco options are not limited. It turns out four tacos each was almost perfect. I can tell you the Pork Belly and Bistic tacos were outstanding. They were literally bursting with flavor. The Brisket was also delicious and tender. The Carne Asada tacos were bland in comparison. The salsa verde helped a bit, but they were a bit disappointing. Though the tacos were brought out almost immediately, we stayed nearly 2 hours. For a lively and tasty meal before a show, Broken English Taco Pub is a solid option.

The food is perfectly fine but there's nothing special about it. It's not especially Mexican, maybe call it Mexican-adjacent. Service was okay and that pretty much describes the whole experience. It's all okay but hardly memorable or craveable. It didn't cost too much and no one got sick. That's about the best I can say.

The tacos were really good! The service was ok. We sat outside. I'd come back again!

    Nachos!

First the service was amazing, second the food was amazing. The atmosphere and restaurant was what I'd expect from Tex-Mex and great drinks. The guy with the braces who served us gave us great advice and was very knowledgeable on the menu and past customer behavior. We received his recommendations well and decided on Nachos for the table. They were very flavorful and unique. The drinks were also very spot on, I ordered a horchata cocktail, super sleeper iykyk and ifydnyk. It was phenomenal. My fiancee ordered a margarita and was not pleased with the level of salt, it wasn't enough to subtract from the 5 star experience. She could have said no salt lol. The price of the drinks and the food was also balanced and appropriate. Was happy to show my appreciation. * there was a team, and the cook/chef came out to greet us after we alerted them to an allergy for our table. Service overall was quick and concise and graceful.

Broken English taco pub is definitely a vibe if you're over in the loop and you should stop in for a margarita and to just hang out. I would absolutely go here again just for the ice cream with the churros in it because those churros are amazing. I kicked off with a water and margarita and it was pretty tasty. Next step then where their chips with the pineapple guacamole and I don't think I'm ever gonna want guac without pineapple ever again. Then came a six taco sampler and my favorite. I think was definitely the fish although I would want to come back and try a few of the others. Definitely a great spot to stop in if you're in the loop.

Sat at the bar. Bartender made fantastic suggestions for both beverages and menu items. Service was fast. Food was phenomenal. My dining companion and I ordered the guacamole , then carne asada tacos and the fish tacos. Both were excellent. Prices are reasonable. Recommended to several others and they had similarly excellent experiences.

What a lucky find! After the Chicago architectural boat tour, I was looking for a bite to eat. It was a short walk to the restaurant. I sat at the bar, and I couldn't have asked for a better spot to dine alone. The interiors are cute, filled to the brim but not too noisy! The service was nice. The bartender was a friendly guy who recommended food and drinks. I started with the house margarita (potent and delicious). I then ordered the shrimp tacos followed by the chicken Al pastor. Both taco orders come in twos, a total of 4 tacos were just enough for me. They were both flavorful, but if I had to pick one, I'd definitely pick the shrimp tacos. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll be sure to visit. To anyone considering going here, definitely give this place a try!

    6 taco tray

We stopped in for dinner after the river boat tour. We were seated promptly and ordered the 6 taco tray, where you could mix and match and a couple of margaritas. One of the main reasons we stopped in was online it looked very similar (food and vibe) to a favorite place of ours in Eugene, Oregon (Tacovore, if you're ever visiting Eugene. It's amazing). So our bar was set pretty high. We ordered two carnitas, two carne asadas, one al pastor de pollo, and one oh my cod. I ordered a house margarita and my wife ordered a pineapple margarita. The vibe was similar to our place back home, but our server was deadpan. Largely going through the motions. Our tacos came quickly, but I had to flag down our server to get our margaritas. We would give the cod a 3, the carne asada a 4, the pollo a 3 and the carnitas a 5. Both margaritas were average. Again, know that we are comparing to our place back home that has the best margaritas I've ever had. Still worth going. Still a four star.

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.
